While I still use just car I have a horror story that might make you think twice about using them, I had an at fault single car accident in my mechanically stock r33 all it had wast a full exhaust and an fmic, I smashed the front bar to pieces and the intercooler piping was destroyed and the drivers side front guard was munted, They took my car to their approved repairer it took the 1 month to repair the car, when I went to pickup the car the second I turned the key I heard a really weird squealing noise the repairer said it was probably a boost leak so on the spot he changed a vaccumme line, the noise was still there, he said take the car back and ring me if I have any problems- there was my first mistake So as soon as the car warmed up and I drive it hard I noticed the car felt nothing like it did before so I rang them back and said there was sonerhing wrong, I also noticed quite alot of rubber on the rear pods the tires were basically new and I had never done a single burn out in the car Anyway so I rang JC and they said take it back to the repairer to check it he looked over it and said the turbo was blown but JC wouldn't cover it So I told them I wanted a second opinion I let them take it to another repairer cause if I'd raken it to my own mechanic it wouldn't be covered, the repairer took the turbo out and said the front blade was damaged but there was no sign of impact damage at this point I had drive the car for 4 weeks and the noise sounded like a siren and there was no power when the boost came on, the repairer said JC refused to pay for it so my only choice was to get the turbo high flowed through GCG for $2500 including installation because the turbo was now in prices and could not be refitted so I could drive the car to my mechanic for him to repair , I decided to go with hypergear instead as it was only $1200 I had the turbo installed and then took JC to the financial ombudsman but after 8-9 months of backwards and forwards all I got was $300 cause I couldn't prove without a doubt that the damage came from the accident and justcar should have replaced the turbo with a second hand working unit after they tested it cause my car was undrivable after the turbo was taken out to check, In saying that their price is very reasonable so I keep using them

the mods dont add value anyway i have insured all my imports with just car and the only reason you would list mods is if the car is damaged and needs to be repaired EG: front end repairable damage if you list that you have a front mount they will replace it, if it's damaged if you dont list it they will stick a sidemount back in your car. you should list ecu and injectors as it's there to make the car more powerful therefore possibly higher insurance risk, but in any accident where the car is repairble those things won't be damaged anyway so no need to worry bout them agreed value is the value of the car, you can added $50000 worth of engine parts to a $10000 grand car and it's still only gonna be insured for $10000 unless you tell them to insure it for more i was able to insure my 200sx for $12000 that was the maximum they would do it for so any mods were just money wasted if / when the car was written off

That was 45mins all up hoisting the car taking the 16 normal nuts off and the 4 lock nuts and changing all 4 wheels that I brought with me
-
If the problem is the current nuts there should be no reason that you won't be able to remove the replacement nuts Btw they charged me $52 to remove and replace the nuts, 45min job

Purchasing/selling A Car With Finance
stig mick replied to r34_25GT's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I sold a car that had money owning on it that was more than what I was selling it for the finance company agreed to remove the revs listing on it upon receipt of the amount I was selling it for, The car was sold for $7500 and the loan was for $9000 So the guy who bought the car paid 7500 directly into the loan account and the revs was removed the second the funds cleared, Just make sure you get something in writing from the finance company before you do the money transfer or cheque payment, outlining all the details -
That's how the tyre shop got my old lock nuts off that I didn't have the key for Why not go to a tyre shop they can get them off for you then just replace the nuts with cheap non alloy wheel nuts so you can do it yourself when you get the car home?

I don't think they are technically legal

I had a GReddy power extreme II on my r32 gtst JASMA approved It was really quiet but that was with the in built silencer in the tip which reduced the outlet to 2.5 inches As soon as the silencer was taken out (which took 2 chisels a hammer and vice grips) it was quite loud.

I got a genuine tomei one for quite cheap off eBay The trick is to look at the sellers other items if they are selling expensive ligit parts then chances are all their stuff is genuine if they sell only cheap parts you'll probably end up with a fake -

stig mick replied to stig mick's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yeah I ended up settling for a nice s2 r33 for $9500 It's stock as even has the airbox and SMIC so I'll save the excitement of owning an r34 for another 2-3years -

From a dealership for a 2000 manual coupe turbo that's pretty cheap, went to another dealership and they wanted between 21000-25000 for their gt-t's and they had 7 of them -

Well I told him to drain the fuel and refill it and call me so I'll do the reset on it when I check it out the car was stock standard so it should be an issue resetting it -

Yeah but had an s13 with a hole in the fuel tank I got it fixed and the stupid mechanic filled it up with 91 octane the car shook and spluttered an no check engine light This car idled very very steady but just had no power and the check engine light worried me doesn't the light refer to an actually problem with the engine not the fuel supply? -
Ok so I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this I went and test drove a cheap r34 at a dealership today $15900 was the price but I though what the hey it might need a small amount of work but for the price I'd check it out The car started up fine no smoke Was idling at 2000rpm till it warmed up then settled down to 950rpm Oil pressure and temperature were normal BUT the check engine light did not turn off it stated on the entire test drive the car also didn't feel very like I expected I've owned and r33 before and the r33 felt like it had way more power The dealer obviously tried to hide this by saying that when the car was picked up the driver filled the car with 91octane and that was the reason for the check engine light and lack of power Could this be the case or is it more likely the engine is f**ked?
