  1. this is also how i feel.... i think there are 2 seperate groups... 1 group who goes to the strip to see what time they can run 1 group who goes to the strip to see how fast they can go
  2. benm - fair enough, but where do you draw the line? if you just want to go to the strip and run as quick as you can, why not buy a cheaper, lighter car, stick a more powerful engine in it, strip it, put it on slicks and keep it strictly for the strip? in otherwords, where do you draw the line?
  3. That would be MSPEC
  4. Very good points adrian.... I always thought it was illegal to have nitrous installed in a street car - even if its not in use... there you go learn something new everyday... You have given me a few things to think about with the whole street trim etc... i guess i want my car to have the power i can use all the time, not just when i go to the track, so i guess NOS isn't for me, but it is just a personal preference.... The thing about the HKS car wasn't to do with street trim, it was just to do with what whatsisname said... seperate thing.... Robo's - i think he means USING NOS on the street - your a dikhead....
  5. True, but then you are adding in 1 more factor that won't show off thier parts..... and as you said i think the 'general' idea of NOS is that its cheating (dont flame me - i'm not saying it IS cheating) but thats what most people think of it... so if HKS put NOS on thier car and ran a 7, then you may find marketing would backfire - people may say 'hks cheat they use nos'....
  6. sidewaymambo: Both fronts are still available.... GTRGhostDogg11 - Rear centre (GTR Badge) is still available.
  7. what gtrken said, and 245/45 ZR17 http://www.gtr.co.uk/html/technical/r33.asp
  8. I'm guessing the reason Japan isn't into nitrous use in drags is because the top cars, HKS, Trust etc... all want to prove thier parts are the quickest/best etc... for marketing... if they used nitrous, it wouldn't realy show how good thier aftermarket parts are?
  9. Out of interest, Do you drive your car on the street Adrian? Have you ever had any hassle from the cops about your NOS? Is it illegal to have installed even if your not using it?
  10. So Adrian your saying unless you have pretty much a bone stock car, its not legal.... so why not just drive a doorslammer on the road? There has to be common sense somewhere....
  11. As for a POD, or externally venting BOV - I have neither... these seem to be in the grey weather legal or not. Slicks and NOS are absolutely illegal
  12. I wasn't clear in what i meant.... I meant with NOS you will run times better than without NOS etc... then when you run out of NOS the guy next to you without it now starts to beat you, and will continue doing so until you refill your bottle.... in reference to what you read my comment as - i'm sure it would be alot harder to run consistent times with NOS, more to think about, more to get the timing right etc...
  13. clarkey - assuming your on 56k dial up? just use a download manager like getright or something..., and leave it going over night... the file isn't going anywhere anytime soon Or i could put a copy on cd for you if you like
  14. paulr33: yeah media player is gay... i DivX'd it but it came out worse quality at a bigger file... premier had native support to do WMV... Maybe try downloading/using Media player classic? http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...ackage_id=84358
  15. krzysui: Let me know if you want the rear
  16. haha yeah, we had to remove the engine noise because it was 90% wind, 10% engine.... but yeah would of been nice if you could hear the engine.....
  17. That and my server has some decent speed
  18. Found mats, just need rear speaker covers now
  19. Just uploaded a video from this day See: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ad.php?p=906180
  20. For those that went, you may remember my cousin was hanging out of my car videoing a lot of it. He finally got off his ass and put something together quickly. Its not to bad, I think we got pretty much every car in the video.... There are a few clips from the night before in the video of me and MSPEC going for a squirt.... It was 2.5GB for the 11min DV clip... I have compressed it to WMV9 2mbit... So the 11minutes came out to ~170MB... Download - Right click - save target as Let me know what you think....
  21. Guys: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ad.php?p=906154 my mats for sale (i found a set of GTR mats)
  22. I have 3 R33 floor mats for sale. Front 2 have 'skyline - nissan genuine parts' on them, rear one is the one that goes over the hump in the back - with the GTR badge (genuine).... Excellent condition.... photos reflected the dust on them (had just taken them out of my car, hadn't vacumed) Passenger and rear center mate are excellent conditon, drivers side is a tiny bit worn (as per normal)... $100 for the 3, or $40 each....
  23. Maybe I am old fashioned (at 23 years young), but with NOS you can sit there all day running the same time, after x amount of runs you will run out, and need to refill the bottle... relational to consistency if you ask me. I don't disagree with NOS, I just think it is should be treated separate all together... its non street legal, same as slicks etc... The only time you can use it, is on the 1/4 mile strip.... (same with slicks) you are changing your car from being a street car to a non-legal street car - and in doing that you are putting yourself up against all the other non-legal street cars, which run much quicker cars. I'm not big into the drag scene, so all this speaking is probably coming from inexperience (but it is all my opinion after all... we are all allowed those right?) I do want to get down to the strip and see what I can run (I believe it does take more skill than what it looks like), but I’m more interested in doing it on full street trim, so I know how quick my car is, all the time, not if I put slicks on, take out the spare tyre, etc... I believe the race track is a better indication of how good a cars performance is (all round) NOS isn't much good on there.... I have mates in their LS1s which are quick.... in a straight line only... The times 2rismo is running are better than I could do in my GTR (current state), and the times you will do merli will probably be better than I’ll ever get to... just opinion/thoughts.... I know I’m not alone in this thinking. PS 12.6, no nos, standard turbo - that's impressive, must be some driving skills there
  24. I would of thought with that much power, your TS would be a little higher...
  25. But was your 12 with NOS?
