  1. Mick - would really like to talk to someone who knows what thier talking about with GTR's.... if you could put me in touch with someone that would be great...
  2. its all to do with the thickness (gauge) of it.. think they start you on a 14 or 12 gauge... i put a 10gauge in that is thicker and shorter (shortness has nothing to do with gauge)... i guess if you can find a 14 gauge one with plastic balls then no reason you can't... I only take mine out to clean it - i do quite a bit of sport as well - snowboard instructor for 6 months of the year, play indoor soccer etc... you don't need to take it out to play sports.. after a while you won't even realise it is there.. it doesnt even hurt to get it done, biting your tounge hurts more.
  3. i got mine done a couple of years ago, chipped one of my teath at the back inside top row... about 2months after i had it done, i then changed to plastic balls instead of metal and haven't chipped anymore, rarley bite it anymore.. once you have worn yours in get a shorter bar - less chance of biting it also i was home the night i got it done eating steak - akwardley but i was still eating steak.. none of this soup crap for a few days ... and i could talk fine
  4. My R33 GTR does the same thing, its not THAT bad, since its only under light braking i can just leave my braking until a fraction later and just put the brakes on a bit harder = no squeel.... i have slotted front discs... and i think bendix ultimate pads... they brake really well but squeel sometimes...
  5. rs73 - thanks... i know what camber is... just wasn't sure what settings i should be going for - thanks for the advice... i do want to get to the track, but it won't be often, so i guess i should go for the touring setup.. what is the 33GTR stock camber/castor/toe in/out able to be adjusted to? do i need the whiteline camber/castor kit? to get whiteline recommended settings? Which whiteline sway bars should i go for? Sydneykid - thanks it didn't make sense to me, being such a good brand i doubted there would be anything wrong with them...
  6. Let us know how they feel after wear in
  7. shell - the fm trasmitter adrian is talking about is something that plugs into yoru IPOD then broadcasts the signal via a FM station....
  8. paulr33 - thanks for getting photos (when you do) i'm still trying to understand where the wood/mdf is in relation to the speaker?
  9. 2 sets of leather seats? any pics? free bump
  10. paulr33 - when you say have the speakers pushed up against wood panels, which part of the speaker? - any photos? i'm a bit confused to what you mean are you still using the stock plastic speaker pods?
  11. newer/better headunits have an AUX input which you can plug things into.. or you can use the FM transmitter 2rismo is talking about or you can just a tape adapter thingie AUX will give you best quality, then probably the FM tramsmitter and last the tape adapter
  12. as you would do i'm just trying to figure it out - see if i get a invoice i can claim it back pre-tax on my lease.... i also don't know if i could hack the rattle
  13. Ahh ok so you bought it from Ben.... do you still have a receipt for it?
  14. GiJor33 you would buy which clutch if you were going upgrade? the hks or the OS Giken?
  15. very interested Does it rattle when installed? whats it like to drive? what did you have it installed in? where are you in melb?
  16. i'm glad they aren't trying to compare the xr6t to the GTR... the xr6t is a nice car, it could possibly be my pick if i was made to get a falcadore... coming from a holden background i find it hard to pick a ford, but i guess from an unbiased view the xr6t is a better car....
  17. what are the tyres like? any good in dry/wet?
  18. hahaha i love it
  19. pitty you couldn't get it on the road tho
  20. I've just been told by someone that ohlins is no good once its been rebuilt... does anyone know anything about this?
  21. I've had a read on previous posts, but still not sure WHERE to sound deaden my doors. At the moment i have crap sony speakers in my doors, I'm keen to upgrade them soon to something half decent - focal/boston splits etc... but for now i have a few rattles in my door i'd like to get rid of and prepare it for some better speakers... I'm not going for a comp system, just something that sounds ok and doesn't rattle In the r33 door where should i be concentrating my sound deadening on There is the Metal door outer panel, in front of that there is the inner metal panel/peice and then the clear plastic stuff and then the door trim itself... where should i be placing sound deadening? should i be taking the clear plastic stuff off and throwing it away (whats the purpose of it?) should i be placing strips? or big squares? should i be covering over holes etc... or going around them? any help much appreciated
  22. Hey, my GTR has ohlins coilovers which are pretty good from what i have been told, and they feel good... but looking under my car it seems that there are no other handling mods done.. ie stock sway bars and castor/camber parts... Whiteline seems to be the way to go, so i'm thinking to just get a full whiteline kit put on my car minus the suspension/shocks since i'm happy with my ohlins stuff... Is it worth it? I'm planning to get on the track soon so i want a pretty decent setup. My current setup is R34GTR wheels with falken 326's 245/40/18 tyres (very average but they came with it), with the ohlins fully adjustable coilovers... What should i be going for ? http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/fact_shee...line_R33GTr.PDF whiteline suggests : Front Blade adjustable 22mm Rear Blade adjustable 22mm Front Castor kit - up to 1.5 deg (6) Rear Rear camber kit +/-0.75deg (7) Camber Caster(6) Toe Deg Deg mm/side Front Touring -1.5 L5.5 / R5.0 0.0 Sport -2.0 L5.5 / R5.0 0.0 Rear Touring -1.0 (7) n/a 0.5mm in Sport -1.0 (7) n/a 0.5mm in Whats the difference between sports/touring? what should i be going for? They also have options for Heavy duty swaybars and upper alloy adjust strut brace should i be looking to get these instead? I find my car is pretty average with handling at the moment - gets sideways a it easier than i expected a awd GTR would do, but this may be to do with tyres i have... Any suggestions / advice would be appreciated thanks
  23. you guys drive to soft
