  4. I have for sale this Samsung Q30 notebook. I've owned it for about a year or so. Got it of a friend who bought it new in 2007.. 2 minor issues with it.. The battery no longer holds charge. A new battery can be had from an aussie supplier for about $60-$70. Battery lasts for around 4-5 hours when new. 2nd issue is the power jack that plugs into the computer can slip out easily. Computer still powers up fine though. Here is a link to its specifications.. http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/index.php/...30;pid;503;pt;2 And pics of the actual machine for sale. Comes with legit copy of XP home edition and SP2 as well.. $550

  6. Heres one of jump rock ive been going to for years.
  7. nice one Xmetal, can you give us a bit more info on this camera? After cropping to 100% what do you think of the image quality?
  8. what slim was referring to is calld the rule of thirds, while this is a general rule. Photography is all about breaking the rules. Experiement with angles and composition.
  9. You'll want a fast lens to start with. I have a few that I use for that sort of stuff. Canon EF 135 f/2L - EF 24-70 f/2.8L - 70-200 f/2.8L etc.. If you want to bounce flash check out the gary fong lightsphere clear and cloud diffusers.. They look really good. I haven't used one yet, but I will each of those 2 I reckon.. www.garyfong.com
  10. I'm shooting in RAW mode and using photoshop CS3 to edit my images. Shooting RAW allows so much flexibilty with editing exposure, saturation, contrast, sharpness, white balance ect. Then I just convert to JPEG & have a play with curves and levels and thats about it. The clone and burn tools are great as well..
  11. here is one of my cat I got lastnight. and here is one of the moon at last quarter phase.
  12. Yeah it was a Vspec worked of its tits and went for low 60k something i believe.. Free bump for BB's GTR..
  13. Happy birthday Christian.
  14. Was the engine rebuilt using standard internals?
  15. Cheers man. It would probably come out to warm using daylight WB. I just shoot AWB all the time anyway and adjust the RAW file accordingly when processing. As for spot metering I will give all metering modes a try next time. That was just taken using pattern metering. I need more focal length!!! Damn canon 800mm is too expensive, lol.....
  16. yeah top S15, looks great with those rims, some strobes definalty would helped those first few shots, not bad though..
  17. 40D absolutley man!!! it shits over the 450D..
  18. which lens dingus?
  19. Just go for a drive and find some spots you like man, don't even have to drive anymore, google maps ftw!!
  20. I wanted a long lens for a decent price, I was not keen to fork out 10k+ for the 400 f/2.8L so I chose the f/5.6L version. Basically it comes down to this for me. The 400 prime is sharper, faster to focus, more ergonomic and does't have that crappy push/pull system the 100-400 uses. I thought about a long lens for years before I bought one. I use it a fair bit for surfing and other kinds of shots, its a good lens. Tack sharp. I have the 70-200 f/2.8L IS for shots under the 400mm length
  21. With the 1.4x TC you only lose 1 stop of light. On my 400 f/5.6L with a 1.4x TC it actually becomes a 400 f/8L and auto focus is lost. If you use the same lens with a 2x TC it loses 2 stops of light so it would becomes a 400 f/11 L.... Also the 2x TC loses to much image quality as well. I hardly use my 1.4x TC..
  22. Cheers man.. Canon 40D with 400 f/5.6L coupled with the canon 1.4x TC II... That already is cropped a bit, not sure of the % though..
