  1. '97 4 dr Rav4 auto.... go the rav! had it while on L's/ red P's '04 subaru impreza RS 2.5L, still got it '90 R32 GTR pick up next week, should be fun... for a first car if you want something sporty but without insurance headache and new P plater power restrictions go a honda prelude, integra, civic, all great cars, or if u wanna go AWD the subaru impreza RS 2.5L is a fantastic car! goes very hard, about the same 0-100 as a v6 holden/ford. very good suspension and AWD it doesnt get much better than that for a first car....
  2. lucien, try David @ Lustre - Glo 9557-35-30 64-70 Sydenham rd Marrickville 2204 they're a smash repairer but paint specialists and have been around for a long long time '65 i think my gf's car is in there at the moment getting a full kit fitted and painted thats costing $1k, i'm pretty happy with that price. considering the number of smash repairers in that area you could prob shop around a bit too and compare. i shopped around and the next cheapest for the same job was 1600 and 1900...! they hav pretty good service, call to update every couple of days etc,
  3. that is the main reason i want one!!
  4. im holding back cos i dont know what size globes i will need... also im anticipating $1-1.5k service to get it up to standard, but i'll be down for a purchase in a couple of weeks... i may be able to hunt down some buyers that arent on the forum, but yeh, will pm you later if you are going to do a round 2 buy.
  5. no worries, glad it worked out.. sorry i cant help u with the install of the boost hoses etc, but im sure someone here will... dan
  6. restless 33, ok, its obviously mechanical because of the piping and nipple thingy in the back of the gauge itself. firstly, is the gauge supposed to be illuminated constantly, then maybe dim when the lights go on like digital clocks etc...? does it have any sort of memory function, such as remembering what colour you had it set on? my guess is black is ground, it always is. yellow is constant power because it is clearly much larger than the other wires red is accessory power, because u said it turned on the gauge.. i think this is the most likely setup for this gauge. i am almost 100% sure this is what the wires are for if your brave, you can test this by -grounding black, -hooking up red to power, then try changing the colour of the gauge, set it on a different colour to what it turned on with. -pull off the red wire, then put it back on, if its back to the first colour then obviously the yellow is needed for constant power for memory of the colour settings. -and then red is Accessory power to turn on the gauge when the car is turned on. i would ground the black to the chassis, or negative of ciggie lighter power. hook up yellow to a constant power source ie headunit, clock, key barrel, and red needs to go to an accessory power source, ie ciggie power, etc hope thats it or i'll feel stupid... dan
  7. i need to do this too... keyless entry, alarm, immobiliser etc etc for a R32 GTR any recommendations of who or where and prices in the sydney area..?? cheers Dan
  8. i say go 5% on the rear quarts, 20% door windows and rear windshield i guess it depends what colour the car is, i have darkest legal on my black rexy and its definately not dark enough so the black 32 will get what i mentioned above ^ if the car is white then darkest legal look dark enough all in all its a matter or personal taste. if you want it to look like a tinted BMWs windows then go darker than legal, they must get a darker tint from the factory or something, but they're windows are nice..
  9. well im picking up the R32 GTR next week, i bought it from a dealer who will prob not have done much in the way of servicing it. so i'm wondering what sort of things should i get the mechanic to look at/change/replace...?? and what should i expect to pay for this servicing? cheers Dan
  10. bump! i'm guessing no one has any idea?? or everyone still has their stock steering wheels...
  11. hey all, just wondering if anyone knows if a quick release kit made for a sparco steering wheel will fit a momo steering wheel? and what are the rules and regulations in Aus or NSW about quick release kits? im sure now that i want one, they are illegal...!
  12. cc, the gtr won't be delivered tillnext week, i dont expect you all to wait, but i will definately be down for a round 2 group buy sometime in the near future with R33Deviat.. cheers Dan
  13. where abouts would one go to get the door seals replaced?? apart from a nissan dealership...
  14. so whats the biggest size diameter and width you can put on a R32 GTR???
  15. thanks bazelinerz! the gtr i had a look at had a fair amount of rust, the fuel tank was bubbley all over under the paint with rust, the whole exhaust was rusty, the whole underbody was rusty, the chassis rails and weld seams everything... and had a spot peeping through the top of the side skirt in the door jamb... i think i'll give that particular GTR a miss....
  16. hmmm thats an interesting point, i didnt think to attribute the noises to accident damage, only mistreatment. if only i could foot the bill for a r34 i wouldnt have these silly issues! well they're 2nd hand too so i suppose i would.... also... ive noticed a lot of r32's have this gap at the back on the parcel shelf behind the top of the back seat, and the seat is generally a bit loose... is this just because they havent been fitted back on properly? i dont know why they would be taken off in the first place!? and the wind noise at 80kms+ is this common in all R32's? i noticed the little window shield visor thingy around the door frame seems to stop it from happening, but if its removed, or isn't there at all, can the wind noise be stopped?? dan
  17. thanks for the quick replies guys! the 5th gear shift is definately not me, i did it several times, but appeared only when making a higher rev change. when just cruising it was fine. -strange noise from front/transmission... this was kinda like a rattle, but a solid rattle that shuddered the car a little, (as opposed to a tinny exhaust problem type rattle), it sounded like something was loose or broken, almost as if the clutch wasn't lining up properly or something like that. it also seemed to make the chassis twist a little? or at least made the floor under my feet move a bit?? if that makes any sense?! cheers
  18. hey all, im looking for a R32 GTR to buy, ive been test driving quite a few, but i have some issues and questions that maybe someone knows something about?? - should i steer clear of a rusty underbody? - is slightly bent weld seam undercar a problem? - is slightly dented/bumped chassis rails a problem? - one car crunched slightly going into 5th after pushing it a bit in 4th what does that mean? - one has had factory ecu tuned in japan and is running a catless O2 sensorless exhaust...? - one has aftermarket clutch and makes a strange noise from front/transmission when taking off under 2500rpm? - are things like the door and window seals, easy/expensive to replace? - is the shrunken inside window seal(along bottom of window) easy/expensive to replace? - is that damn bubble they all get in the dash infront of the passenger easy/expensive to fix? thanks for any info Dan

  23. no sh33t i was wrong and yeh i'll end up taking it on the chin, but wouldn't you wonder if there was that small possibility you could get out of sh33t and save your ass, cash and licence..?? i mean asking questions to do with cars is what these forums are all about eh? since your all asking i got an auto licence for my red P's because i wasn't lucky enough to have a manual car to learn on! simple ****ing explanation for something that you lot of w*nks seem to have made such a bloody huge point of. i really am quite surprised at the response from you lot, never thought little lights that point at the ground could possibly cause so much pain to some other drivers. still i learnt my lesson an wont use them unlawfully again, hah, maybe i worded my opening post a little wrong, still, no reason for the crap to start dribbling out your mouths.. maybe its a P plate thing, oh well so sad. and try telling me you lot wouldnt drive your new car for a day or two while you got the right licence...?? anyway, i'll take your responses as a indication that you don't know sh33t about what i have asked. and thank you for your enlightenment on the topic of hating p platers and fog lights... cheers
  24. gee thanks for all the abuse..i mean help yes unfortunately i am at the age where i must be a P plater and i am vunerable to all the stereotypes that go along with it. as for all of you making up stories about what happened, yeh they are pretty funny, good to see you are exercising your imaginations. as for me calling the cop a noob, thats how i feel because of the attitude he gave me when i asked him questions about the licencing scheme for P's, but that doesnt matter.. and you'll all turn around an say i was giving him the attitude cos im a fooli sik P plater in my pretend rex. yeh im on this forum because i was already a member, came within a bee's dick of buying a R33 but considered the insurance for someone my age and thought twice, same goes for a WRX.. so yes i ended up with a nice non turbo car with all the interior luxuries of a fantastic sports car, with half the insurance and twice the peace of mind about parking it. so lets not get all grumpy cos its that time of the month and try not have a go at someone cos they made a silly mistake, which they would surely learn from, and give them the advice they requested, i swear thats wat these forums are for?
  25. i told u already i think it looks good, thats all that really matters, and dont reply with some bs about being one of those people who are not affected by advertising and peers influences and will not conform to idealistic impressions and images etc etc, you must drive a skyline right?? why? cos u need a car to get you from A to B , yeh right, pull the other one, hahahaha you drive your skyline because u think it looks good, it goes hard and you, due to whatever influences it may be, have come to the realisation that u like the car. hence the reason you bought it. and even if you dont have a skyline, whatever car you have, you would have bought because u like the looks. your obviously on this site because you like skylines, and i'd say that their looks would have something to do with it! when u sit inside you cant see what it looks like from the outside CAN you! NO you bloody well can't, but you KNOW what it looks like, and if you turn around and try to tell me that you bought your skyline for some other reason and looks had nothing to do with it your full of it. there's plenty of other quick cars out there that all look pretty much the same on the inside! (and even then you buy a car because you like what the inside is like, cos thats where u spend all your time) so quit your useless, and annoying whoring of my thread and let some people with the information i NEED reply to my posts,. but thanks all the same for the BUMPS BUMP
