  1. GTR032 so what your saying is the ultimates basically need a few laps of a track to bed properly then theyre quiet after that? mine still squeak, they stop fantastically and lock up nicely but yeh its just that final 1m of stopping that they let out an almighty scream thats driving me nuts! dan
  2. hey all yes more problems with the gtr! as i've been driving around past couple of days, ive noticed an oily smell from time to time, but its very strong, enough to give headspins and a headache. it doesnt seem to be coming through the aircon when its set to outside. but somehow leaks into the cabin. i can smell it with the window down. it also seems to be coming from the gearstick boot. i pulled the boot and plastic bit off and had a look at the shifter, but i cant see a leak or anything, but the smell is very strong from the rubber boot around the shifter. any ideas as to what it is.?? i've just had a new clutch put in too.. i dont know if the smell was there before the clutch swap because i only had the car a day. but cant seem to remember it being there before... any help would be greatly appreciated Dan
  3. thought i'd add to the 'water in spoiler' crew.. i had it in mine too, but since i made the dealer take it off and fill in the holes and remove the boot key hole and spray it etc i didn't bother taking the water out the spoiler cos its in the shed..! there is definately something weird about this water in spoiler epidemic.. i'd say its from the repeated washing they get through dealers and customs and compliance etc
  4. tried to wipe off the glaze with some hard braking, seemed to work for a while but came back... its not a soft ee..eee.eee squeak, like when they need to be replaced, actually it doesnt make that sort of noise at all, i wouldnt mind that noise as much. its more of a loud ear piercing EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP just before the car stops completely. apart from that theyre quiet! its so loud and annoying it sounds like a old banged up truck! is this normal?
  5. why lie for bro? lol personally, up-grading with a fake badge is my pet hate. but in the spirit of individual taste do what you want. although i would be as proud of a GTR as if i had a gts-t. its all in your head, just use the force!
  6. hmmm, well that doesnt sound too promising.. well i called the mechanic and had a look over the rotors. turns out i may have glazed the rotors by long, slow and light braking to stop at traffic lights etc causing them to glaze and squeal. so i'm gonna go out tonight and see if i can lift that with some firm braking.. will report later! dan
  7. hey all i just got new pads and rotors. DBA slotted rotors and bendix ultimate pads had them in for 2 days and they are squeaking like a **** any one have experience with these pads? are they squeaky by nature? cheers dan

  21. thanks champ but i already have the spotty ones, i think i'm gonna have to get some custom made. thanks again
  22. get the battery first... a cap is like a big power storage tank. when a big bass note hits and it uses lots of power, the cap is there to make sure there is no misses, ie make sure there is power ready for the next bass note so you dont get a loud bass note, then the next one is soft. you need the battery to actually fill the cap up with power, if you dont have a battery big enough to do that then the cap will just drain more power from the battery and your system wont work well at all...plus you'll get dimming lights etc etc get the battery... i have seen 100s of very high power systems running a D34 with no cap the lights might dim a bit, but the system wont miss a beat dan
