    Egged Again

if you leave an egg on paint it will eat it away. if its on a house it will eat the paint then start on the brick or concrete so i'd imagine it would do the same on the steel in a car too..
  2. hey mate, got pics of motor, boot and interior i may be interested in the strut bars if you wanna sell em seperately? pm me if u like
  3. so with a r32 you dont need to worry about removing the driveshaft??? i remember reading that if you don't remove the diff you damage the assembly that transfers torque to the front driveshaft... also, i would have thought the system would be the same for 32,33,34
  4. mind if i ask how would these HSD coilovers compare to 1. D2 2. TEIN SuperStreet 3. TEIN Flex 4. HKS Hipermax II 5. HKS Hipermax performa 6. HKS Hipermax pro pfr what would be the best choice between these if... the HSD are about $1800? correct? and D2 are about the same price. HKS Hipermax II and TEIN super street with EDFC are about $2k but TEIN flex and HKS pro are at least another $1k on top of that. thank you dan
  5. i remember reading somewhere about staged licences, where you have to do certain courses and pass etc to be able to drive certain vehicles ie if you want to drive/own an ferrari you need to do a certain level of testing and training... for eg: stage 1 is low powered 4cyl cars - stage 5 hi-po supercars ...although im sure it was based on power-weight ratios...
  6. yes pls pics of mats and do you have 320km speedo??
  7. thats a very good point about the driver training expanding the ego rather than suppressing it, thats why you need to develop the attutude of the person aswell, anyone who has had a bit of quality driver training will know suburban roads are THE WORST place to bo doing anysort of sporty driving, even freeways are not up to scratch with whats needed to safely control a car in those conditions, so when u teach the people that public roads are to drive on and racing takes place on a track then your heading in the right direction.. i reckon a slide show of some real accidents with all the nitty gritty mess that actually happens when your stupid on the road should be about all thats needed to make people think twice about doing something they'll regret, well it worked for me when i did oh&s at tafe in my mechanics course...
  8. yup totally agree about that ^^^ especially the driving instructors.
  9. any pics of the mines 320km speedo pls send to my email 2l8cya@iinet.net.au thanks
  10. there is no doubt about it that they will do something to ban, reduce or stop young drivers in hi-po cars. personally i dont think this is such a bad idea. but its not always about regulations and band-aid fixes, something needs to be done to 1. change driver attitudes, as said before an idiot in a hi-po car is an idiot in a toyota echo. this needs to start from a young age. but realistically there will always be ppl who want to go fast, show off and be dangerous onthe road. 2.driver training! there is absolutely no form of defensive or advanced driver training mandatory to pass driving tests. a day on the skid pan could equate to a much longer life in the end. 3.revise the licence testing scheme. did you know, in NSW at least, if you do your P1 test in an auto and pass the stupid P2 hazard perception video test which is unbelievably easy to cheat, you are automatically able to drive a manual transmission, without ever having to touch one or pass any test to do with actually driving a manual..! also the licence testing is available in a myriad of different languages. THIS IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!! when was the last time you saw an AUSTRALIAN street sign in any other language but ENGLISH. i'm sorry, but this is a joke. i'm sure this is the reason for half the accidents and lost and bewildered motorists out there, because they actually dont understand what they are supposed to be doing! i am not a racist, 90% of my friends are not from australian backgrounds and at least 50% speak english as a second language. with regards to a 24/7 skidpan, i dont know about 24/7, but a closer, cheaper and open more often skidpan/track/dragstrip/rallycourse/gocarts would be an awesome idea, good luck finding the space or someone with the $$$ to do it. oh yeah the government can pay for it with the money raised from defecting! state treasurer here i come, wish me luck.. dan
  11. i wonder how much it costs to pay for ppl to think up all these insanly draconian regulations and have all the laws passed and then have the police force spend more time enforcing ADR's than the laws that actually keep people safe...!!!?? probably enough to fix all the potholes, ridges and crumbling curbs Australia wide. maybe even put a friggin street sign up every now and then! (Aus. is the worst when it comes to street signs! anyone tried finding their way with a street map and no street signs lately! ARRGGHHH) and with the left over pennies maybe they can catch these damn criminals driving around in SKYLINES carjacking people in sydneys east giving us all a bad rep! (not like a skyline driver's rep could get any worse) Australian GOVERNMENT, its a joke.
  12. i can see why.. thanks for the pics!!
  13. oh yeh cool! like on the supras... does it come on gtr's? any one with pics??
  14. what car is this? and where is the button? pics please!
  15. ok schweet mayte! thanks guys!
  16. srimes101 i dont know the black and white rules about defects and compliancing, and it seems more and more that no one not even police and rta know! my mate got done for a bunch of things, but the wording of each individual defect was: Non-standard front bar Number plate not mounted correctly Wheels exceeding size Non-standard steering wheel Non-standard exhaust - and too high decibel reading (funny they didn't even start the engine or rev it) Air pod filter Non-standard gear knob Non-standard seats Non-standard tail lights Non-standard head lights Rear wing - pedestrian safety Non-standard suspension Ground clearance too low Gauge mounted to A pillar Rear bodykit overhang - pedestrian safety so he got done for ground clearance and kit seperately..just saying, make sure you find out FOR SURE from a govt. body so you know definately if there will be problems. i honestly wouldnt be surprised if all aftermarket kits were a defect because they are made of fibreglass or carbonfibre or similar. not ABS plastic like the originals so you have totally removed any form of flexibility and durability from the bumpers reducing flex and creating possible dangers for pedestrians etc in an accident as they are sharp and brittle when damaged etc etc... ADR's are so tight realistically you cant even change the light bulbs in your car! it more than likely already has the brightest possible bulbs and any brighter/whiter are not ADR compliant. just check out the phillips ads in mags. the bulbs that are actually white enough to bother changing to are not ADR compliant, and they legally have to tell you this so its ur problem not theirs. anyways a bit off topic, sorry. i would suggest calling the compliance places and check. but mind you there are always dodgy ones who will let ur car pass, as long as you pay cash...
  17. after you learn blipping as explained ^ then you can move on to heal-toe once you have mastered those you wont ever want to coast or clutch-in to stop again, its just too much fun!
  18. sky_nismo- how about a re-post?? wouldnt mind having a looksee...
  19. yeh i was taught to always have the car in a gear, ie the correct gear for the given situation. as konrad said, saves getting stuck in a sticky situation, also makes for better practice if you want to learn how to race on track. having said that, i do get lazy in traffic
  20. 80-0 on freeway, if its just a cruisey slow down then i would prob use mostly brakes, drop it into 3 then brake some more then neutral and stop. same process when at 50/60 in city when stopping slowly but when stopping hard thats another thing all together!
  21. some one must have a apexi turbo timer on a r32 gtr?? anyone?
