  3. It's the Newcastle skyline owner's home away from home :-). What's everyone up to over the christmas break? i'm heading back over on the 20th for a week.
  4. I bet that's going to be loads of fun!!!! To make you feel better it was 45deg here yesterday...starting to feel like it's going to be just as bad today.
  5. On a track, pretrol usage is probarly the least of your concerns. lol Ringwood is one of the proposed locations for a new track and support facilities in nsw. It would be good if it all goes ahead
  6. well your a sexy bloke Sounds like you have a good plan. Defininatly get the garage and monies sorted first. Goodluck with the Job
  7. lol...Jarade...Jade maybe. Cool glad you said that about the 18's. Couldn't make my mind up as to 18 or 19. i'm going to try to order a set of 18x10.5 SL's next week. It's going which is something different from the last 6months. lol. It's got an epic oil leak coming from one of the braided lines - i'll fix that next week and then it'll prob go into storage for 2months. I just don't have any where to keep it at the moment How's your GTR fund going?
  8. oi Ant, while your online - what rim size and wheels are you runing?
  9. Working all weekend
  10. Ah ok. Hadn't heard that before. Yep - very true
  11. So... you haven't actually used a Haltech? what reason's did you tuner give? I've used a vipec/link and Haltech in my car. IMO Haltech is an awesome ECU, as good, if not better then a Vipec. Would not hesitate to buy another Haltech.

  13. Yes, it's awlays fun repeating ourselves !!!! - but i'm feeling helpful today... Depends on what you get and if you just get one rebuilt or buy one outright - best to give Jim a ring.
  14. 400kw is a whole lot of tire smoke.
  15. hahha GOLD! sounds like an awesome plan Ray
  16. well...sort of...it apprently came of in newcastle after less then 20kms of running (Paul was driving - i had already left for Perth). At first i thought it was ROSS blancer syndrome multiplied by the fact we noticed the adjuster bracket was bent when we were bolting everything back up. However, the real reason wasn't apparent to i went to install a new belt in Perth....i forgot to tighten the power steering bracket bolts...the thing was just sitting there loose. I'm lucky the hole assembly didn't come off and cause some major damage. I've now gone through and checked every bolt in the bay i can reach, but I haven't come across any other potential drama's.
  17. post lot's of pictures. I'll be designing my surge tank shortly and i'm looking for ideas :-)
  18. lol, you should have seen my WTF face when i picked it up and tried to turn the steering wheel for the first time. yep definitely aware of the nitto gtr, I'm a big fan of it. But it's important to keep in mind that although it's got the stock bottom end and still runing strong, only a pull down is going to tell if the components are still in tip-top shape. Paul's been through this process already, so he was very confident on the reliability of the parts that went into this motor.
  19. Good question mate - Paul advised that he had personal tested stock rods well past 800hp - i doubt this engine will ever see past 600hp, which means they were well and truly up to my requirements and the money saved could be applied elsewhere. In retrospec, i sort of wished i'd put a stroker in, but the line has to be drawn somewhere i guess.
  20. I guess it all depends on what sort of rent you can get compared to the initial cost. Higher value suburbs usually mean more rental income. Yeah, she'd a tuff old girl. Wouldn't want to go any deeper then that though lol How's your house going?
  21. Work's got me a place in the middle of the city for a few months - it was part of a relocation package. Trouble is, i'm still working up in Port hedland, so i'm never actually in perth to be able to look for houses. Yeah it's probably about 20%-30% more then newcastle for just about everything. But good city, very social. I went 4wd on the weekend with a few mates, the old ferroza held up well conwsidering it's completely stock:
  22. Just rent at this stage. Markets really tight unfortunatly.
  23. i still check in from time to time . I'm bored at work and the WA section is dead. WA's going well. Still haven't found a house yet though...and I'm really missing my tools (their in storage). Hopefully i'll have one by the end of the year and can start to settle in then.
  24. nope just an extended sump. Mine's still a 26 and holds 9L (11L if there's oil in the cooler) rb26's can suffer from oil starvation. With a combination big G corners, high rpm's and a poor head oil drainage design, the result is that the stock pump can essential empty the sump and thus suck air = no oil for bearings = spun bearing. After market pumps can flow more then 25% higher then stock, so the problem is amplified. The larger sump capacity pretty much eliminates the lack of oil problem and the baffels keep the oil around the pick-up during high-g corners. n1 engines came stock with a higher oil capacity, so nissan was probarly aware of the problem from there racing experince.
