  1. A haltech always brings good fortune. A Trust/Greddy or Nismo hard piping kit would be look the stuff Also What does a bonnet damper do? what is it dampening????
  2. Set aside an hour when you ring Jim. He likes to talk clutches. (best to ring at 4-4:30pm if you want to be quick). His service and products are great. I have an exeedy carbon twin plate getting a refresh with him atm.
  3. Representing another gtr from newcastle - do mine!!!! Actually, mine lacks an engine and gearbox atm, so i'm exactly 300kw short (albeit it will be considerable higher then this once rectified). I also don't consider the silver gtr's very photogenic. However, what about bakes old r34 gtr. I used to jizz everytime i walked past it at work. I belive its still floating around NSW somewhere:
  4. you should be able to pick up a set of Bridgestone re01's (or re02's) at that price. Walk into tyre shop and ask or even ring. You will always get a better deal then looking online. Also check out the traders section here. Always tyres for sale.
  5. Newcastle people are paranoid for a good reason. When the local cops do a blitz, they are extremly thorough. And unfortunatly it's a small few that constantly attract police attention that brings on a bad name for the rest of us (same story as everywhere..). But i agree a mid-day social meet is alot more sensible.
  6. Spotted a white r34 on newcastle road about 1pm, a white a r33 on park ave yesterday about 3pm and a white r35gtr on steward ave about 4:30pm. I'm only in newe 5 days a fornight now, so i'll be hit and miss for a meetup.
  7. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/358667-rb26-oil-pump-choices/ Good thread to read
  8. Either are great. Don't forgot to upgrade your sump. Stock sump capacity + high flow pump = oil starvation.
  9. Spotted a chick drivin a silver 33 gtst along maud st bout 4:30 this arvo
  10. The G sensor is part of the cars electronics (i.e like o2 sensor) - You already have one. The MFD G meter is part of the nismo MFD which graphs the output from this.
  11. id say the odo milage had a nice little hair cut before it left Japan and they stuffed up putting it back together. id either ignore it or buy a 2nd hand one to replace it (not worth fixing). Either way, id do a 100,000km service and full fluid drop asap. And congrats on the new car
  12. A skyline cruise just doesn't seem to generate interest around Newcastle. I'll be keen for a small crusie before i move the gtr to Perth in August - providing the gtr is back together and i'm not working of course.
  13. Both true, but from a thermodynamic point of view; this is not the optimium set-up. air to air Intercooler design will always be a balance between drag reduction, packaging and cooler effeciency.
  14. From a thermodynamics point of view, the most effecient set-up would be perpendicular to the air flow (i.e. vertical) which would allow the maximum amount of frontal surface area to be exposed to the air flow. Slanted intercooler = less frontal surface area. More airflow = more stuff to cool the charge. This is the principle behind n1 vents and the shape of some bumps to direct air to the intercooler/radiator. It should be noted that manufactures design will play a part (i.e. were the internal channels designed with a slant install inmind toallow better airflow through the cooler). But i also agree with Ash, any difference would be fairly intangible unless the intercolller was slanted at a large angle (say 15deg).
  15. Interesting idea. Would it be easier to run two fuel rails, two sets of injectors (e.g. nismo plenum can be set-up for this). It would allow a more exact transition between the two fuels and the ecu could be tuned accordingly to totake into account the changing calorific value.
  16. signed. More tracks are needed in nsw, but i would prefer to see a track open in Newcastle (i.e. the MG car club proposal). I feel that would service alot more people then wagga wagga.
  17. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/159632-tomei-oil-pump-broken.html click me^^^
  18. Didn't know Paul was doing this....mmmm i see a new direction for my build . I also see my bank account draining too .
  19. Anyone know what sort of timer frame we are looking at before we see the spline pump?
  20. I liked Paul's quote better: "...the car has a turbo and is performing...so id say thats forced induction performance" Cracked me up when i first read it. And +1 on the Guilt toy = legend :-)
  21. spotted a silver 33 gtr on university drive ~3pm today, parked behind a broken commadore
  22. All the best for a speedy recovery
  23. What manifold, dumps and intake set-up are you running? did you port/ceramic coat anything? Your build list is pretty much indentical to mine but hadn't made the decision on -5 or -7's yet. and yeah +1 for rpm dyno sheet.
  24. sms sent regarding stut bars - pm me if you didn't get it. Cheers - Joel
  25. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/getnewrego/interstatevehicles.html thats the link regarding what you need. when you say pretty much stock, what mods have been done? Have a look under the car and make sure there are no hidden suprises (e.g. de-cat pipe) When i went through it, it was basically the same as renewing the rego, but you needed a blue slip too. (It was my daily, not the the gtr) Ensure all the complience plates are on the car and the engine/chassis number match what the car has. (as was mentioned before, you may need to supply original complience paperwork)
