  1. Hi SAU forum members, Been meaning to do this for about a month... Just mooved back to newcastle nsw after a stint in WA and just bought my first skyline. Its a mildly modified 2000 r34 gtr vspec with a few minor issues (e.g. busted awd, wiring issues and a defect or two) but still a great car. The plan is to get the issues sorted and to do a track day here and there. In the mean time i hope to go on a few SAU cruises and meet some other skyline enthusists (nutters)
  2. That was me. I was on a kotara westfield run too. Dam your car was low. I was suprised when you headed up the ramp. I thought it would bottom out. Loved your exhaust note.
  3. When you park it somewhere and turn your head and admire numerous times whilst walking away from it..+1 some more... When you stop caring about the cost of petrol. When you no longer know the meaning of fuel economy. When someone has repeated the words "OMG I just jizzed" in your car You research where the nearest undercover carparks are along a cruise route just incase of rain/hail. You cant get your car DVDplayer/stereo/radio to work because its in japanese and you dont care. You no longer crinch at the thought of wiping runny bird poo off your car with your bear hands. (only done this once) you need to see a chiropractor to fix your back from driving your line too much. (stiff suspension) When visiting your olds and your oldman automatically parks his brand spanking new commaboat on the street so your 11 year old car can have the garage. Thanks dad!!! And finally, When your driving and you get to the end of a twisty road and turn around so you can do it all again.
  4. Mine too!!! Although its probally about 135mm now cause of the attroicous roads around my area and my stupid driveway. Signed.
  5. I think im going to cry....what a waste
  6. NSW is such a nanny state. In no way do i codone speeding, but this is just another adjustment to the law to raise revenue and make everyones life misirable. Sometimes i wonder why i mooved back here...
  7. So is there going to be retake this Saturday?
  8. Pics look great. I wish i was there!!! I wonder if we will ever see an F1 race at Bathurst...2016 after the contract for melbourne ends ... Probally just wishfull thinking ...
  9. Thats a solid 8 years between posts.....D.I.F you must have been real bored to dig this up... But whilst its back-->Sonic the hedgehog & Alex the kid on the master system ruled.
  10. ^^^I've just moved to the newe/central coast area too. I would be keen for a meet up/cruise/beer/whatever sometime in the near future.
  11. After finally moving back to the same state as where my gtr resides, i got it in today for some overdue TLC at Hunter thomas Auto I would recommand them to anyone --> really professional & great service Thanks guys for the comments above - helped me out heaps
  12. Spotted a white r33 along bridges road about 5:30pm today and got a wave from a white r32 gtst along acacia ave just after. And my car shared a garage today with a midnight purple r33 gtr and a black r32 gtr whilst getting some overdue TLC
  13. Paul, your one lucky guy, Get well soon mate.
  14. My home town...don't know if that is a good or a bad thing... The Hillclimb is always a good couple of days. I'll be there. I Will only be spectating though. If anyone is keen for a little cruise on the way there from newcastle (e.g old pacific hwy though Boral, maybe a sneaky trip up to foster on the lakes way), id be keen. Would be cool to meet some fellow enthusiasts. cheers.
  15. Returned a wave from a black r33 on lake road heading toards wallsend about 10 or 11am on saturday morning. Gave a wave to a blue r33 gtr on university drive about the same time, but don't think he saw me.
  16. This was an interesting morning. Def some cool tools i need to get. +1 for the bricks. lol Now for some high tech stuff....The first two are not really for the household, but i still think they are pretty sweet. 3D wax printer: Prints objects in wax, which you then send to an investment casting foundry to get made out of steel, aluminium or whatever. Extremely cheap (relatively) for those one off custom jobs. Desktop CNC milling machine & lathe: Doesn't do steel, but works great in aluminium, rubber, tooling board etc. Great for making cheap moulds for plastic/polyurethane components. Made some custom urethane washers for my mates forrester. Worked a treat. UV chalk: Great for noob's who cant weld straight like me
  17. Get your insurance company to name a value before you suggest the red-book value. Red-book.com says that my gtr is worth ~$40K, but my insurance company's set market value in the event of a rideoff is well above this. cheers

  19. Thanks Chris & Ryan, Will be checking all three out when i'm back in newe next week. Cheers.
  20. Thanks for the advice Galois, I've heard the horror stories myself, thats why i want fellow owners opinions first. i'll throw you a pm and do a search. cheers.
  21. I just bought my first skyline (yay!!!) and i'm looking for a good mechanic in the newcastle area that has had experince with gtr's to drop fluids, wheel alignment, look over a few things, etc. I'm currently working in perth until the end of feb, so i don't have the time (or access to the car for that matter) to do it myself. Any suggestions?
