  1. cheers for that , reading some threads that suggest this should be high on my list for a fix. found this thread , http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/110431-diy-aac-valve-cleaning-idle-reset/page__st__120 May be beyond my scope of works for today , but god damn it I want to drive Putty rd tomorrow.
  2. what happened there I was meant to quote this one ....
  3. If changing the fuel filter fixes my stalling problem, I'll be there. The gods are against me making a SAU cruise, I've had to cancel at the last minute several times now. No good mate, once you get it fixed you've got to take me for a spin while it is running. Really want to see what a 25/30 feels like. haha I was thinking I need my boat today while getting drenched.
  4. My Stagea has started to stall at idle/low revs. I am assuming it it is a fuel flow problem and will replace the fuel filter this weekend. While i am at it I will change the air filter, clean the afm with contact cleaner and have a look at the fuel pump for problems/dirty fuel. Is there anything else that is an easy fix?. I want to make the putty rd cruise and will do the obvious, easy stuff all at once.
  5. Haha , missed this, ask the warehouse boys who the bogan is driving the Stagea. And what a beast it was. thinking of trading the Stag for a true Family Rocket.
  6. Grey C23 S2 on the going South on the harbour bridge this Morning at 8.50.
  7. Looks great, feel free to share preformance figures, ignore the crap some people carry on with and as Alex said, as long as you enjoy it. Have you got some more photos of the seats and dash. Curious to see what you have done as I have been thinking about similar mods. I'd like to switch seats but only if they matchs the trim, same goes for dials etc.
  8. Plus 11ty to GOOD PADS. I really should have have done my research, instead I took advice from a "professional" and used a pad that was not up to the task. The result is pads that look like this after one day. ( brand new the day before ) Fronts and rears The rears chewed the discs and melted the seals on the callipers On the bright side, the rear callipers have been upgraded to match the front. I have also learned a lot about brakes. Yes I feel like a Muppet and blame myself for the poor choice. ( as much as I'd like to point the finger ) Live and learn.
  9. Good to hear people want to get out to events For Sydney/NSW people check here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/forum/33-events/ The club has events on most months , including Putty Rd Cruise on the 22nd April - already a few Stags comitted to this one and Texikhana at Sutton Rd Complex on the 19th May. The second one I am very excited about , kind of like a mini Tarmac rally stage.
  10. yep that's what I did, watched , thought that's awesome sign me up. Thank god for AWD, makes me look good, if it was a tail happy RWD I'd be all over the shop.
  11. Okay just in case people haven't gotten out of the Stagea section down to the NSW events section, I thought I'd remind everyone of very cool event coming up Sutton Rd TEXI - 19th May Have a look, watch the video, feel inspired. Things to note . You don't need a mega kilawasps car to enter - have a look at the entry lists, there is a Magna and Micra 1 car at time - GO AS HARD AS YOU WANT . feel free to drive like a granny or hard out 100% . Everybody is really friendly and welcoming of noobs, I have no skill and have had nothing but positive feed back and encouragement This is a rare event, get in while you can, it may not be back. It will make Nick happy to see Stags at NSW events - you don't want to make Hulk mad. No I haven't signed up but will be once I feel rich ( crossing fingers it doesn't sell out ) . or Come for a cruise Putty Rd 22 April yes I know Stags are a wagon not a track weapon but it's still a lot of fun. Melbourne people Canberra is not that far for a overnight stay, there is cheap accommodation being organised.
  12. cheers I may need to you take you up on that as I'd like the car for the Easter weekend. A search on fast come up with this part code. 44120-3H025- and may be shared with other vehicles.
  13. Does Anybody know the answer to this ? or if anybody in Australia has stocks of a rebuild kit for the rear - Series 2. Just pulled apart the rears and it looks I like melted the dust boot on the rears at the track last weekend . I have to assume the square seal is gone, so it's rebuild time. I think it 's because I didn't do a proper cool down lap on a couple of sessions. you live an learn. I will also need to either have a rotor machined or put new ones on. Leaning towards new ones but looking at Japanese import spares website they have standard dixel ones for 240 a pair and I'd rathe try and keep the price down. I'll call around places tomorrow and see what I can source. oh and R34gtt fronts are AWESOME!!
  14. I'll be at putty rd. let's see if we can get a few stags together.
  15. Will be there with a tiger riding in the back!
  16. I now have a time for Wakefield. 1.20.06 using iPhone app. I was getting consistent 20's, very happy considering Duncan's 1.15 is with lot more skill and power. Something to aim for! Mostly stock rs4s on street tyres. Just hks suspension, r34 front brakes and exhaust.
  17. What a great day. Thanks to all the execs and helpers who gave up their time to run the day. Thanks to Duncan and Brett for giving me pointers. I had blast and will be along to as many track days as possible. The car went great with no troubles all day, rear brakes need some attention but no big drama. Also note to self keep an eye on brake fluid. Here's a couple of my laps recorded using Harry's Lap Timer. The one with Duncan is not a great lap (using to much track) but has some nice pointers . I was happy with the times in a mostly stock Stag , not fast but not as bad as I expected to be. (still can't work out how to embed video.) Again I was impressed with how friendly everyone is and how welcoming of newbs the regulars are. Thanks again, looking forward to Sutton Rd!
  18. I may have had help from a fellow Stagea driver.
  19. Was a mini meet at last sau texi day. I think the best option is to get as many stags as possible along to the next sau cruise. I think there is a putty road one on the horizon.
  20. Consider yourself booked for a session with me.
  21. Spotted Duncan on his way out of the City on the free way at Naremburn, didn't see me because he was to busy giving it the boot.
  22. In. When I have money.
  23. For those that care, here are the times. I did my best with the time sheets. The course name is missing for some , so if you know what it should be please let me know. If you see a typo etc let me know. TEXI TIMES 12TH FEB 2012.pdf Scan sheets, Excel File and final PDF https://docs.google....1dnByd1J3Q0p0UQ I was going to make up some formulas to calculate best times after penalties but got bored and decided to do my job instead.
  24. Terry you're always keen to pimp clean GTR
