  1. Thanks for the tip...none on the website atm so I'll give them a call. Did you get yours with or without tyres and if you don't mind me asking, what was the approximate cost?
  2. Currently everything is stock as a rock - OE 296mm rotors and the standard Nissan/Sumitomo caliper with an unknown pad. At the cars first track day at Wakefield on 28/5/2011, I had a lot of vibration and not a lot of stopping power by the end of the day. Stopped well enough at first though, but I wasn't pushing it too much. I am definitely up for rotors now and have been quoted for a pair of DBA4000 XS which with decent pads I understand will do the job for a while. It's relatively cheap (under $800) which is a factor. And here's the but: I'd like to be doing more track days ideally once per month or every two months at least. If I spend more on a brake upgrade now, will it save me more later and most importantly will I be doing better lap times sooner? If the answer to this is yes, then I need new, bigger wheels and tyres as well so the costs are escalating exponentially! Who thought motorsport would be expensive?! haha
  3. Thanks for the reply. It is exactly this conundrum I am facing at the moment - stick with 296mm rotor and use a DBA4000 for a cheap upgrade; or getting bigger wheels (e.g. R34 GTR) and go to a 324mm rotor with the UAS adapter. When you say you had one for a while, what was the rest of your setup/why did you get rid of it/did the car stop good while you had it?! Cheers
  4. If I can revive this thread... Will Nissan/Sumitomo calipers (i.e. non brembo) work with aftermarket 324mm rotors? Or will I have to upgrade my calipers as well if I go to 324mm rotors? Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi all I'm looking for a nice clean set of R34 GTR wheels to go on my 32 GTR. Please let me know! Cheers Scott
  6. I'm confirmed good to go. Money to transfer tomorrow
  7. Yes!!! I am in...will just check the diary with the missus and pending approval will forward catch and entry form forthwith.
  8. If my new brakes have been fitted, I am in for this!
  9. Looks like a very entertaining day was had by all. And another great video Eric! Makes me want to buy a dedicated thrash-box!
  10. keen as...but the december heat freaks me out in principle. and 6+months to wait?! crikey!
  11. My first track day yesterday and it was an immensely enjoyable experience which culminated in my 32 gtr making it home unscathed save for some worn brakes and a faulty fuel gauge. Huge thanks to Mark, Michael, Eric, Steve and Duncan who shared their wisdom for a successful day. Big thanks also to all the members from both SAU and RENEW who not only made the day run smoothly but made me feel welcome. And a special thanks to TUNEHOUSE in Marrickville who just a week ago serviced, checked and tweaked the car for survival and a 1.14:03 on the cheapest of street tyres. Great pics eric. Also a few good ones accessible via renew's facebook page. Can't wait for the video Eric! When is the next day at Wakefield???
  12. I'm good for another $35 for this photography if it means we can get them there...
  13. All my membership stuff arrived today! Thanks Shell et al!
  14. I'm in the same boat - fully paid up as a member but with no membership card or t-shirt or even a sticker to prove it ! I'm hoping Shell is around on the day so I can deflect any questions her way (sorry Shell!)
  15. Sound advice, thank you. Just out of interest, will there be people with air compressors willing to share with us noobs so we can pump our tyres if needed?
  16. wow..too early for me to manage. with a bit of luck i will be coming thru Campbelltown by 5:30. Even at 'slow' surely it's only 1h 45m from C'town?
  17. Thanks gregor for the tips. On last check my tyres were 36 psi so I take it the global advice would be to drop this figure to close to 30 all round, to be checked after the first session. I'm going to print a "don't use the handbrake" sign - that's one habit it is going to be hard to break. So, anyone driving down at 5:30am on Sat morning??
  18. This is a great start Cassbo, thanks. I am indeed going on cheap street tyres, which will be the second biggest restriction (behind me as the driver)
  19. 5 more sleeps, come on. My searching prowess is very limited, as is time at the moment. Can someone point me in the right direction for some 'track day preparation' advice? I'm particularly keen to know what tyre pressure I should be aiming for. Also, is anyone else driving down from Sydney at the crack of dawn on Sat morning??
  20. White R32 GTR with gold rims turning onto City West Link from Norton Street - was trying to catch him in my white R32 GTR but the lights beat me. Then a black/gunmetal R32 GTS-T (no wing) 2 seconds later on City West Link
  21. If only this was tomorrow!
  22. Oh I see...nice one! Can't wait to try out my new metal valve caps...
  23. Noob alert... where do I find the entrants list to confirm names?!
