Hi Everyone, I witnessed something that made me change my opion on Adelaide Cruisers tonight. I was chillen at shell like alot of us do now and again when a candy apple supra pulled in to Shell West Tce. Now a police 4wd drive came in aswell to get there daily fix of Hungry Jacks. They notice the supra and started having a look over it now to me the car did look like he could get in to trouble. As the police were inspecting the car the owner inform the cops of the other cars parked around him to take the heat off himself. While this was all going on I saw 4 Drag races going passed Shell and they didnt care. Two highly modifyed rotors wizzing passed with blowoff valves singing. Now that is defentaly something to inform the cops if you are going to try and take the heat off your self but four cars parked at shell not doing anything to anyone minding there own business and getting picked on because someone opened there mouth to take the heat off themselfs. ( What a Tool ) Its just not on why is this happening? If I was getting done over by the cops im not about to dob everyone else in to save myself if the supra didnt say anything no one else would of got warnings or defected . So I guess the new polcies is dont give a stuff about anyone else but yourslf and pass on the favour. I thought all of us cruisers were suppose to be on the same side but it looks like we are turning on fellow cruiser if you cant handle getting busted by cops you should not have the car!!!!!!!!!!!

Police are one problem fuel prices are another. I missssssss the good cruises too. Look on other web sites or go to Shell West Trc in the city that is a good meeting point and go from there.

We meet him on sat night at shell west tce there are about five guys who cruise around in it. It took them two days to do all the mods and they reckon that KFC stole the idea off them for the commercial. They all got pulled over by the cops for being to low at the front and had to take the front lip off the cardboard bar and then let them go so its totally legal to do this to the car with in means......

Timmmayyy i was not going to say names but since cheeky said somthing well then. cheeky is a person who seems to be the leader of the sheep or use too. cheeky and a few others had a great time putting down SVD for weeks and also while the past committee was in the seat. Then straight away she jumped on the SVD web forum and wanted to talk? Then she come back to this forum and bag SVD again. She can make as many excuses but it is in the history in the SVD forum's. I have thought about joining many clubs and was once a member of SVD. The reason is I have to many commitments at present so I am not going to a member of any club. SVD has gone through a big change in the last few months so things are looking good for the club. All I can say is go and have a look if it does not take your fancy try Club PSI don't know what is going on but I am sure that some one here will put you the right direction for all the clubs in SA. Don't listen to people too much about good or bad clubs because they really don't have a clue what they are talking about . They might have had one bad experience with a club or member and that is it. Go and see a couple of clubs and you make your mind up. Good Luck! - Edited by Cubes

I believe that we all have the right to speak up and even protest I think we forget that this is a FREE country and we should not be Bullied by anyone. We are not all angles and we all like to have fun that is why we own and modify cars. But it is how and where we use them. We all know Commodores and alike get the blame for most of the problems and that is because they are the majority of car owners on the road. The government has to relise including the public that more cars bigger population means more crime more accidents etc etc etc. So no one can say that we as import owners are getting worse , the majority of us take allot of pride in our cars even if we drift or drag but does not mean we do it on the streets, and it is not the first time in history it has happened on the streets where do you think drag racing come from. But what really gets up my nose is, A commodore owner on P's tries to play with imports has accident because his Family sedan does not perform like they do in the V8 super cars and crashes into eg tree Channel 9 eg does a story shows a commodore damaged then shows Imports cruzing and says that this type of behavour has to be fixed and high performance cars should be targeted. I'm sorry when was the last time we saw a Nissan aid displaying a car doing bunouts etc and sayng it has a 255kw motor bla bla bla. I enjoy cars I enjoy going for a cruise I think that safty should be a priority when on public roads. So I am going along with Skyline that we have just had an election now since we pay for those (people) to be in there position we have the right to stand up for what we want and let them earn there money. So it's time to make a stand in some way. Because I know regency is sick of Imports.

I think this is a good idea we have been taking crap from cops for years and its about time they understand that we are not all bad and we are only having fun and trying to enjoy are cars if they didnt want us to have imports why are we aloud to bring them into the country and why do they sell thing that are a illegal to put on your cars.

I thought the whole situation at Newton suxed I got passed the cop at the exit with the hill he was pretty stupid he didnt know at all what he was looking at under some of the bonnets he shown his torch at a blow off valve not plummed back and didnt say a word about it. But they were writing a lot of regos down I would hate to be seeing what they are getting in the mail. I have never seen the cops react to nothing but I guess we are all criminals cause we must be breaking the law some were some how......

Hey that sounds like a good idea I was following the "how cool is adelaide" thread but I didnt know some of the people on the thread. What time do you think you guys would be leaving to go for a run cause I might come along and have a meal with some friends and go for a cruise with you if you decide to go.... I think this will be a good cause I can put some faces to names on SAU.

I agree with skyline. Im a bit worried that the cops can accuse you of excessive noise or burnouts with out any proof and they can take your car away after the third offence. I dont get on with are neighbours next door cause he is a shift worker and he spews when we go out on the weekend and always calls the cops and complains cause are cars are loud starting up and we warm them up for awhile so he is going to be able to make some bull@$#% up now about us hooning around the streets and get away with it and then ill get fined .... You could try impressive paint and panel in Golden Grove they might be able to help you I know that they are very good at resprays and there is a really good panel beater there and they are pretty good with prices. Just a suggestion...

It sounds like Air or fuel problems Now you said it pulled hard until 3000rpm then that is usualy the turbo side of things which boost is coming on. Any smoke out the back? it could be anything

I will have to say that if the cars are not up to scratch then I will save my $18 + 30min wait in line to get in to see almost the same cars I could see out side in the car park. I would almost see the same amount of women and cars at Shell on a Saturday night. Adelaide has a problem with Interstate cars not making the trip and Adelaide also has much better cars but who do not enter into these events. I have no problem with people entering ( NORMAL ) cars with mod's but this is a buisness for the Cabin crew which they should be doinf what ever to make each show outstanding. I will say to all those who have tried as I was one of them once is that it is hard to win when you go up against kids with mummy and daddy's budget to build a sound system for there car, or go up against the dyno challenge when these cars are not driven daily. Most of us have worked hard to get what we have got and want to show it off with parent eyes "my ride is the best looking" This year's Autosalon had a larger number of people but I believe it lacks the atmosphere needed for such event which I was looking forward since the last one. Some of the club displays were great and to the single ones like the BEATS WRX . Con grats to all and I only hope that next year will better.

I was a bit disappointed aswell . I thought last years was heaps better and this year autosalon was let down by those GTI there idea of modification is a bit of rust or a red bonnet.
