I dont think they will only open to those classes, You should see the money WSID makes every wednesday night for the local guys to take they cars off the street. Ruby - I dont think nothing has been getting done..I just wanted to wake this subject up..On all of the car forums I have been searching all of the threads like this havent had any movement in them for 6 months or more. I want to help and I like to ask questions.

I have heard the "businessmen" have the money they are just trying to get the government to give them a place where they can build it..But in saying that have also heard that AIR kick up a stink and said why build a facility when we have AIR.. It has been going on for too long and I will give it till Decemeber and if AIR isnt reopened and a new calender for 2009 is not put on the AIR webpage then I will be hounding AMC everyday asking why!! I should of asked in the email why it has taken so long and what actual contruction work is going on there. The petition can still work but you need thousands of signatures and that takes a little while to get. I have put this on every car forum I know of..I have been emailing business and drag racers in SA and Australia..but if noone passed the email or gets there friends to sign.....

I wanted to hear it straight from the horses mouth so I asked I dont want to give up hope that there will be AIR or a different drag facility up and running in the near future..Its been going on for far to long and atleast I am willing to try and do something about it.. Every state needs motorsport facility drag and circuit!!

I wrote to AMC the new owners of AIR and asked what and why and when will things be back up and running!! This is his reply P.s AMC also own Winton,Wakefield,Calder Park and Queensland Race way..Bob Jane is just a contributor now

I have met all sorts in the car community..I don't care what you have I will still talk to you. I am a big fan and just love motorsport!! P.s I do kind of get annoyed at the BS that boys like to talk to girls at times as some think that girls don't know anything about the car they own, I am polite but after think "that was a waste of my time"

Very true!! but its getting the people to care and help spread the word..Need atleast 50,000 - 100,000 signatures to make an impact Really need it put on face book, myspace and countless emails to be sent to sponsors, car clubs, ANDRA, spectators,corportions, caterers, just to get the word out I have started to email drag clubs and have sent an email to the CEO of ANDRA..Need to get the word out! it only takes 5 minutes to fill out and if every car enthuiast just did that..We would have the 100,000 signatures

I have asked Clem at Mallala how much to hire the track.. It cost $4,000 there is usually a permit in there too and with CAMS can be a pain in the arse.AASA is much easier to get and use. plus you would need a ambulance fee which is about $500 and a tow fee to get cars out of the kitty litter if they get stuck usually around the $200 mark.. You dont really need volunteers or officials on the track but it helps.. All you need is to be cams affiliated club and a few scruiteers to look over the cars to make sure there safe and have the will to take your car to the track! I think a better idea would be to get in on the other club days and open days that are held at Malalla and ask for a drift session.. Its the latest craze over here in NSW..Most open track days are holding a drift session and if people ask at our track days we hold and there are enough that want a drift session and willing to pay it happens also.

Should try and post the petiton link in other car club webpages I have posted on fullboost and started to email the drag racing associations in SA. Put the link in your signature Need thousands of signatures to make an impact and if you all do a little part by telling a friend, posting it on another forum. It can happen!

This is true and the right attitude to have! If you dont get involved and show the governement and corporation what you the people in SA want how the hell are they ever going to know? With petitions out there like this and get as many people to sign as possible and advertise it to the public, media, corporations and government they are more inclinded to do something about it cause the public are saying they want it so there is a market... "Great way to get the hoons off the street" I only posted in this thread cause it's relavant The petition could be send to the boss of Calder Park? Might hurry them up...you never know unless you try!

Hi Peeps sorry to bring up an old thread but I have just stumbled across this and thought I would share! I think it was set up by Flick???? I did a search in the SA section but it didn't come up http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/state-...-australia.html It only has 19 signatures at present These are a good thing to have and take it to members of parliment if you get a good amount of signatures!! I am about to start a online petition myself to help ease the burden of losing another race track here in NSW (ORAN PARK) The government think its a great idea to replace it with a Street circuit for the V8's in Homebush here in Sydney that none of us thousand weekend racers can use But you guys suffer even more than us here in NSW you only have one motorsport park which just suxs balls! You should have a WSID of your own!!
