Thanks all, your all wikidly helpful and willing to help. A far cry from the crx forum or ford wa.. I'm pretty much open to anything at this stage, I just don't have the $ to tell a mechanic to "just fix it". I'm gonna swap in Nak's afms tomorrow and also check my ecu, hopefully that'll answer some questions. Short from that, I'm thankful for any help I can get with the beastie. I'll be home or close by most of the day so anyone who wants to test their patience is welcome to pop by. Haha. Jesse.

Got a pair of afms(cheers Nak ) which I will test in the morning and will check the ecu for codes. Short from that, who really is keen for a barby and a few beers and a gtr busy bee tomorrow? Got the day and arvo free as and really wanna get this sorted. Jesse.
-
I'll check my ecu tonite. Nak has just been by as puzzled as I am. :s This is a confuzzling problem.
-
Does a gtr ecu flash codes?
-
Alright then, a barby. I live an apartment block so We'l make it a carpark barby. hafta be when i get payed though.. How does one test the fuel pump for faults? Jesse.
-
That'd be great Nak, turns out I too have alot more time on my hands than I did so any times good for me pretty much. Jesse.
-
Don't say that Ninja.. Maybe next step is to try someones afms that are known to work. Any hands up? Hehe. I really hope it's not gasket. I'll check what time I have this week coming and hopefully I can book one of you guys in for an inspection. Cheers guys, much appreciation for your time. Jesse.

Nak, I'm totally free this arvo if your close by and it's not too much trouble. It'd be good to get another persons take on it before I go back to work. My poor car hasn't moved in a few weeks now.

Starts after a few engine turns but then sounds like it's gonna stall. There is also quite a loud tappetty sounding ticking noise that I don't remember coming out of the engine bay.. I have the manual including the vacuum setup and as you say, there are two I can't even really see. What do you all recommend? I'm going to check the vac lines I can get to and with any luck i'll find an easily accessible leak that'll solve my immediate problem so I can get it to a 100k service. Jesse.
-
Hmm, not gonna be an easy, quick fix. Anyone know the best place to get vac hoses? Are there any tips u guys can give me for the process? Seems like most of them are gonna be hard to get to. Bosszilla, what do u charge by the hour?
-
Very much appreciated BZilla, I've got today f Dedicated to sourcing the problem so with any luck.. I'll keep u guys posted. Cheers. Jesse.

Oh dear, most of the vacuum hoses look like this; (these are top and bottom turbo control solenoid hoses respectively) I'm about to go get some aerostart to test em but I think they will all need help soon. At least if I can get it driving ok I can get it to a mech.
-
Hmm, interesting. That's tomorrows jobs sorted I guess. Bubba, how does aerostart increase revs when applied to coolant hoses? Sorry but am I missing something?
-
Darn, cleaned everything up, resealed and reassembled but no good. Idles still rough as guts and dips down in revs every few seconds. Anyone up for another round? Cheers all. Jesse.
-
Ok, so I just pulled my top Afm out to have a looksi.. Previous master has obviously already resoldered our connections here. This is the joins, sorry they're upside down.. And this is what I assume is the O2 sensor. Very oily/dirty. What do we think guys? Thanks for the input. And Boss-Zilla, this is pretty much all I've done so far. Jesse.
-
Well it's very similar to the problem benno2 was having, started her up and let it idle for a few minutes to warm. Cruised slowly around the block(probly 1k) then, going up a slight hill the revs started dropping even though I was still accelerating. They progressively dropped all the way down and the was almost stalling on a rough idle. Totally confused I killed the ignition not wanting to do more damage. About 4 hours later I tried starting it and it started with a regular idle but a bit low and drove back here with What felt like slight power loss. What do u guys think? Mass air flow? Hopefully not gasket? Is this a turbo fault? I'm moving from a 96 v8 fairmont so this is allllll new to me. Thanks all. By the way I'm located right by maylands traino. Jesse.

Hey guys, so my 32gtr is still giving me grief and I have absolutely no idea how to begin the trouble shooting process. I have the complete service manual and basic tools. I am wondering If there is a gtr savvy member living around the maylands area who is interested in spending a few minutes answering questions and having a look at my car(try and get it going properly) for the price of a carton of their choice. I have read through hundreds of threads on this and other gtr sites(Canada gtr is also very good) but have not managed anything solid. Cheers in advance guys. Here's hoping. Jesse.

Intermittent Fault - No One Knows What It Is!
V8or4X4 replied to benro2's topic in General Maintenance
Between us all hopefully we'l get this sussed. This morning I got in my 32GTR, started it, let it warm(for about 8mins like I always do) and drove about 1k around the corner. Cruising at low revvs my car started to shudder and then began to decelerate as if I had taken my foot completely off the gas. For a few seconds it sounded and felt like it was 5 cyls short then died. It would start but still running like a truck so I gave up not wanting to do(more) damage. Round 3 hours I returned with tools and a fresh tank of patience only to have the car start and slowly drive me home. Benro2, I apologize for encroaching on your topic but I feel as if these are similar probs. Does anyone have any suggestions or are we at least in agreement that I should go down the same path as Benro2? Cheers in advance all. -
Also, what are the literal car and personal requirements? Can someone who's lost their license drive?
-
Awesome! I wish my car was up for it.. Can't wait till she's ready. Anyone know if there are any driver-training days coming up? It's been a big switch from my V8 fairmont to the GTR.

Hear hear!!

Well guys, got front wheels on a kern and back on ramps and I could get under it. This is what I'm pretty sure is leaking looking up diagonally toward the back of the car in just above the diff. I assume attessa. So diff out and replace? Doesn't sound doable in my driveway.. Has anybody done it here? What's involved? Thanks for the input guys. Jesse.
-
That's what I'm hoping, BWRGTR. With any luck it's a hose or something. Do u guys think I will be able to assess on ramps what's leaking or full car lift?
