  1. What's wrong with ur wheels Deano? They look awsome too ! Glws mate the car looks really nice and worth the money
  2. Looks like no porting on that one though , try supeflow heads at Liverpool I've seen a rb25 he was doing looked pretty good to me, wherever u go I think you are within your rights to see examples of work. Like in west ends case I know they do some of jems engines but I doubt they will tell you that. Ask who ever you go with exactly what porting and polishing you will get for the price
  3. The head is where the money is, setting clearances if they are lucky cams in check clearance cams out install custom shims cams back in and hopefully it's right. Then there's the porting, cc'ing combustion chambers, changing valve seats, guides, three angle cut blah blah blah, I rekon you could sink 39 hours in a head easy
  4. Probably ok for them mostly assembling it when I asked it was just measured etc but I would assemble, keep looking u will work out the correct number but when in Sydney go see him, he's always done good work on other engines for me, very knowledgeable guy too
  5. Did west end get back to you?
  6. West end performance in campbelltown , he is very busy and may take 8 weeks or so but he does a fair few rb's including some for just engine management, anyway that's where I would go. I think from memory he quoted 4 k for all that plus crank linishing and all measurements for bearings etc. fairly aggressive head port and valve relief and setting head up with supplied parts including valve clearance etc 02-4625 4100. Super flow heads at Liverpool were around 2 k for ported flow benched head that looked pretty nice too. I went different direction but have had other engine types done at these places with good results, hope it helps you in some way
  7. Wow, this is nicest 33 I think I've seen pics of to date! Good luck mate it must be very hard to say good bye to that
  8. Loosen it off at both ends re install joiners and I/c it will go in
  9. Disconnect negetive terminal when car not in use and what type of car is it? Stock or aftermarket I/c?
  10. Paint strip, wire brush and polish scratches out, prep sol , vht primer and vht bright red, it's actually not r34 red this is just solid non metallic red, trick is bake at 160 in BBQ sand primer with 800 wet n dry and three coats of red baking each coat for 25 mins and letting cool down before next coat , Scott
  11. Thanks pretty good for a can and its not fragile either
  12. I finished installing the cam covers I painted with vht bright red pretty happy with results.
  13. I have stock 32 turbos just missing oil and water feed line $80
  14. Yes I think that's best course of action I wanted gold but 3 attempts is a pain in the bum. Especially when it looks perfect and then turns bad Scott
  15. Hi guys I painted my 26 covers with high temp primer then acrylic colour the high temp clear, I baked it in BBQ at 160 degrees for an hour when it cools it seems ok but when it heats up goes soft again! So I'm going to try a high temp red to see if its using the 3 coat system or not has anyone come across this before ?
  16. I've see. It done with turbos and plenum still attached pretty easy actually just use engine hoist pull cams , undo bolts for turbo stays, drains, front pipe, head studs lift a bit a you will have more room to remove hoses etc
  17. Price and location please?
  18. Anyone had any issues with the clear not curing? I've painted mine twice and it's still the same, I used high temp primer, acrylic colour and high temp clear . Came up well but as soon as engine heats up its almost like the paint is wet it's that fragile. I then read the can on clear which said to bake at 200 degrees for an hour which did harden it but severely dis colored it.
  19. This fricken brain repair thing is slow just re read post and saw jez suggested bc springs which I assume is Brian crower ,,, lol job done
  20. Yes that is what I will do I spoke to him and will drop car and parts off , I will give him a hand as he said its better with 2 ppl for springs in car and we found the cams quite easy with both of us, I just feel bad and don't want the car cluttering his workshop more than it needs to not like the last three weeks, he's told me what to fix and modify and then to bring it back due to both our time constraints lately, and also when you put more than 100 hours into a car it's nice to see it through.
  21. What do ppl think of Brian crower single springs and retainers ? Seem to be well priced and good seat pressure, do you guys purchase the collet kit as well or use stock ones?
  22. Any good places to buy rb26 shims just in case?
