Yep just asked him all soughted thanks guys

Oh I will check them and get jez to double check them I'm just hoping the theory is they are ok as we don't need more down time, so duals are ok then I hate the extra seat pressure to snap the end of a valve off or something
-
Can't deal with new shims lol I think it "should be ok in theory as the valve seat and valve govern the distance and shim required and supposedly with 32mm base circle all should be well, supertech do a dual spring with 92lbs seat pressure is that overkill ? Can u go too far with springs ? And sir rb those cams I had were 29 mm base circle hence the dramas but I should have run thicker buckets to compensate, it's good cause u don't need relief but bad cause of mucking around
-
Ok that is easy Option which actually I dont mind will they need springs ? Debate seems to be out over many topics, thanks guys I really appreciate replies

I want to stay twins but I know it's heaps easier to make the power with a single It looks like I will go a camtech grind 272 , 9.75mm lift depending on my clearance measurements on stock cams or I may get him to reduce duration a bit

Ur the best mate really and it sure does feel good ! Didn't miss I beat on the way home

Rb26 and yes read rb26 thread and 400 kw thread but it goes off topic and is not a very good information source

Adaptronic 1280 is pretty impressive too

Yep undo both lift engine a few inches and he will have plenty of room or even justify offending side

Hi guys got my car back tonight with a cruise tune of almost 240kw at 11 psi, I have a very slight leak I have to rectify around #3 inlet manifold hopefully simple. Anyway with the adaptronic 1280 and Bosch 2200 injectors I was suprised how smooth it was especially for quick tune . This ecu is crazy and has everything even launch control and almost anything it's completely programable in every way. Thanks to jez and Andy btw, but we were talking and I really want 400 kw plus on e 85 so we decided to put cams and possibly springs , it's a forged engine std stroke with mild porting in cylinder head and exh manifolds. So do I just go the usual type b as jez said they are proven or try a custom grind still with full size base circle but 10 mm lift or more? And say 260 duration to keep power band low? I don't want to change shims as right now it's perfect and super quiet all I can hear Is injectors. It also has hks adjustable cam gears , we can change them out in about 2 hours but I just want to give it best chance offline the power, car will be used for drags and hill climbs etc not much circuit. I have researched around 6 hours on this subject but posts go back to 2009 so if there is a thread please direct me to it. Scott

When I was 17 I drove like a idiot and fortunately was skilled or lucky enough not to kill myself, I outran cops on numerous occasions and it was in Hornsby , they invited me to the station many times showing me pics if dead ppl etc they even pulled my dad over when he was driving my car and said sorry wrong person , back then I hated them I thought they were out to get me but now I see I was a danger and actually they were trying to save my life and who knows maybe they did! Slightly off topic but my 2 cents

Yes 2 sets of split fires and tbh if I had understood wasted spark before i would have got the more expensive ecu in the first place in hindsight

Yes I used to but since my brain surgery I can't deal with them as well as before unfortunately -

Then I wonder what version it was cause I was under impression it was un adjustable oh well as you said its done now -

I did suggest injector timing as in 360 or 720 (not sure exactly ) but on select its not adjustable in the 1280 it is but what's strange is there was 2 cars there running same ecu injector setup with no issues so its a but of a mystery till Wednesday , I've researched that when the Japanese change engines in r 32 they always put a new engine loom in if that's true maybe there's a reason for it I guess -
Thanks terry they pushed it back to Thursday now so I went and played with Gtr and had good news there hopefully a good omen

Hornsby is very strict one day in the street no plates they used to spray a big x on the door then next day gone, don't know what they are like the th op had his Gtr on street and got heaps of car wreckers cards left on it so its a pretty active street is call the council
-
Haha not yet its only on 250 kw not worth wasting time till the 1280 arrives! Or the e 85 I want to be in a certain club lol starts with a 4

I should clarify , same tuner same dyno different style of ecu, I must say I thought jez may give up as he flys out on hols soon but he is about as stubborn as me and it seems Andy is too really thanks guys even though we havnt completed e 85 tune I'm really stocked and adjusting dwell made no difference, well what ever it is that's the cause the nistune didn't suffer same issue not sure on firmware though I'm sure the boys looked at it -

We tried nis tune and now on Wednesday it will be a adaptronic 1280 as wasted spark doesn't want to work in this application -
We did try another select ecu same same, timing light in each coil all good, oscilloscope to check voltage drop we think was ok no obvious loss but its really something we could only check by loading up 2 coils and measuring that way or by pass and run new wires. I wonder if it could have anything to do with porting and efficiency of combustion chambers etc. Andy & jez seem very determined to get to the bottom of it but to be honest I don't like the idea of wasted spark of which I had no idea about before and I much prefer the sequential direct fire so all good and now I can sleep without my head racing all night And really thank you so much jez I know your time is previous as is Andy's I really appreciate your efforts pity all tuners arnt so determined

The adaptronic select plug in ecu and many others at the lower price point use wasted spark which in my understanding is 3 outputs, as in cyl 1 and 6 fire at same time but cyl 6 is on exh stroke so spark does nothing hense the wasted, sequential direct spark that stock ecu and more high end such as adaptronic 1280 and haltech platinum pro 2000 use have 6 outputs so only fire one cylinder at a time. I'm happy to be corrected but that's my understanding. However it's more than likely my 20 year old wiring harness that can't take the load of wasted spark as it should be able to but Andy and jez want to get to the bottom of it for future reference and to put both their minds at rest in case it happens again. But it seems the more expensive ecu's would not experience this issue. And jez and Andy have been really great. Scott

Problem fixed wasted spark issue

Sure was I was close to selling it as I had nothing more to give
