  1. i did this in my stocky 33 and 32 gts-t's (only when i couldnt get premium). I didnt have any problems. I didnt drive it hard. If you need to tank up on 91 or 95 octane, please stay out of your boost range, otherwise your engine will knock if it is tuned for a specific fuel
  2. tell me. how do you do a search for gtr stuff if you cant search for words that are less than 4 letters ?
  3. I saw one of these last week as i was driving back from parramatta. I think it was a blue/greenish 33 gts-t.. I drove past him, and I think he saw me, and saw my gtr. Boy did he cower and act all embarassed Serves him right !

  8. I think with the comparison with stock turbos - I make about 30-40awkw more with the garretts than i did with the stock turbos, at 1psi less than what the stock turbos were running at! Mind you I do have a cam upgrade as well. I wouldnt run the stockies at 1.2bar

  10. Guys Im keen to apply for a L2S cams licence. In relation to getting the licence, my understanding is that i need to fax off the form to my club (SAU NSW), who can then apply for me? Does anyone know how long it takes? I'd like to head out to wakefield within the near future Cheers
  11. Big difference in spool times there. Do you have a built engine kabab? The gt-ss are rated at 280hp arent they? While these are 320 hp. That would make a fair bit of difference. But hell, I can understand how responsive the SS's must be

  13. Marko I'm runnin GARRETT GT2560R's, also known as the GT2860R's. These are Garrett replacements to the Nissan R34 N1 turbos. They are 'apparently' rated at 320hp. There are no flow maps on the garrett website, 'yet' Jim is a pretty good tuner. The a/f ratio is so damn straight, its almost unbelievable
  14. I had this same dillema Question - how much power are you planning to put out? Question 2 - how much money do you want to spend? Personally I planned to put out about 300 4wkw. I could only really choose between a ceramic button puk clutch or a twin plate+. I didnt have the money to buy a twin plate, so i bought a custom made ceramic cushioned button clutch with 9 puks from UAS. Cost me $695. It holds the power, but I cant tell you how long it will last
  15. Cheers guys Okay, in answer to your question, kabab, I think its something like 0.8 bar at 4000 rpm in 3rd Forgot to check 3000 rpm in 3rd, but im guessing it would be around the 0.3 bar mark ?

  17. Mate I get a similar sort of thing. My knock goes up to like 100 on startup. Now there is absolutely no way you could get knock at < 500rpm. My tuner attributed it to a noisy starter motor
  18. IS it a genuine M spec or not? Because as far as I am aware there are two M-specs here in Australia. One of them belongs to wrxhoon and the other is sitting at CRD without an engine

  20. I cant be 100% sure, but at about 80km/hr or so, which im guessing is about 5500rpm in 2nd, i get about 1.2kg of boost
  21. I am using the jaycar one with the factory solenoid. Ive had a play around with it, and it seems to be working better now. In relation to boost, I get full boost at something like 6 grand in 2nd In relation 4th gear, I think i hit full boost 130/140 km/hr - wasnt watching the tachometer

  24. Either the turbos are just really big and laggy for my setup or something funny is going on ?
  25. I would have launched that first one at 5000 rpm MAX. And i really dont make decent boost until something like 6k or more. Next time I'll try to rev it out a bit more. I think i got there at about 7/730, so it really didnt give me much time to have many runs. Had absolutely no idea what i was doing, where i was going, etc. I will be there next week. Hopefully boost controller issues will be sorted and ill be running 18-19 psi.
