  1. Adam, very similar to my car on Shaun's dyno - single 044, 910cc injectors, E85 = 385rwkws. Mine makes a bit more torque though.
  2. It wasn't powerful enough So I decided to step up to a RB25/30 with E85 specific compression in mind, and a nice little FP HTA GT3586R hanging off the side.
  3. Mine isn't fast but I would've certainly entered in the show and shine, only problem is it's awaiting the new engine, turbo, fuel system etc.
  4. Pete, I like the concept of automotive enthusiast representation at senate level. If the aftermarket industry and end user had one quarter the influence in Australia as say the US we could see some real positive change in Government's attitude to the genuine and level headed enthusiast. One should never judge a book by its cover but I see this venture with the potential to do as much harm as it does good. Perhaps Mr Muir will prove me wrong. I certainly hope so.
  5. Hey Darren, been a while mate! Was chatting to Rob earlier in the year and asked how you were going and what you were up to. I am very keen to go down the FP HTA path now thanks to the input from Andrew and yourself. Cheers.
  6. Thanks for the info' mate. I will check them out.
  7. Yes mate. Not 100% sure yet, might refit the larger Stage V turbine housing and wheel that my current T62-1 came with. I downsized to the Stage 3 as it wasn't as responsive as I wanted at the time. The extra capacity should solve that issue and give more top end. A small increase in peak power is enough to keep me happy - low-mid 400. More torque across the board is what I really want. The other option is a Garrett GTX or something similar but yet to do the research.
  8. Congrat's on running in the 10's mate! Solid terminal speed too. I'm hoping to have similar potential and will have the extra capacity very soon, minus the 4WD.
  9. Bro-in-law owns a TRD Aurion. Nice car, plenty of grunt, lots of room for four adults, decent looking without being over the top and nice interior. Interior plastics are typical Toyota but they did a reasonble job of adding some flair with colour.
  10. Cheers Brendan, hope you and your family are too mate. Put the little yellow beast on the dyno again today. Back to back runs of 209.7kW and 210.9kW I think that about does it. Happy enough with that.
  11. Birds/Dan, cheers for the positive comments guys. Dan, I fluctuate between 88 and 91. If I didn't train regularly I'd be low 80's. Last time I didn't train regularly was over 15yrs ago. Prior to regular weight training I did years of paddling, surfing etc. Lots of back exercises.
  12. Thanks L33SH. Thanks Birds. Yes mate it is a PB, I usually rep my way up to 190 (until tonight) not beyond. I'm 183 / 6' and came in at 88kg on the scales tonight.
  13. If that is directed at me... It wasn't a grip problem it was a lack of gas in the tank and endurance. I much prefer chalk to straps.
  14. Well I followed through with my comments earlier today about giving 200kg a shot. I warmed up with 8 x 100kg, followed by 8 x 160, then did 2 x 200 easy enough that I decided to try 210... and I managed one without resorting to poor form. Dropped back to 170 but after 6 I was pretty much gone. I continued on and did 3 x 8 60kg DB one arm upright rows and 3 x 8 lat pull down, but unlike normal I'm feeling noticeable more shagged. Might shift squats to Fri.
  15. Yeah cheers. There are some strong lads in the gym on base, some of them get right into lifting bigger numbers. One of the younger guys I trained with a bit last year and earlier this year was routinely deadlifting 270-280 1RM... after pulling multiple sets at lighter weights. He did the same with bench - peaked at 180 last time I saw him. This kid was about 6'4, low 100's and all of 19yrs old!
  16. I'm actually training back tonight, so might even give 200 a go. Probably go straight from my warm up to a few reps at 160 and then try 200. I've been using the routine I detailed above (with the odd variation) for months so probably time to mix it up a bit. I tend to get comfortable at a certain level with my training and don't push myself into new territory very often. One of the advantages of military life is the time and access to excellent quality gym's. I've been training for years and tend to just train for health and fitness rather than try to set PBs for bragging rights these days.
  17. I deadlifted without the aid of chalk or straps for years and then one day an Army mate I chatted with in the gym from time to time gave me a bag. Huge difference! My current deadlift routine is usually: 6 x 100kg (warm up) 8 x 160 8 x 170 5 x 180 1-2 x 190 8 x 140 Followed up by 3 sets 10 x 60kg DB bent-over rows and 3 x machine lat pull down.
  18. How about something like this? It doesn't meet all your criteria but it certainly matches most of them http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Mercedes-Benz-C32-2003/SSE-AD-2136168/?Cr=99&sdmvc=1
  19. I can honestly say I own 0.01% of an Audi R8 - 4 x coil packs and a handful of components shared between the various VAG models
  20. I don't know how he copes with the tough decision of which car to drive... R35, R8, AMG etc.
  21. Very nice! Would I be correct in assuming this certain someone sells camping vehicles, like the one in the top left corner of the photo?
  22. The OEM Volkswagen Audi Group oil and coolant caps are your typical boring looking plastic, whereas the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 items are flash looking alloy. I like flash looking stuff, especially cheap, good quality flash stuff. G'day Andrew, how goes it mate? Yeah I needed a FWD turbo to make a complete set - AWD turbo, RWD turbo and now a FWD turbo Trent was talking about hosting a poker night a few weeks back, but it might require Sarah's permission The engine cover is a custom job and replaces the average looking OEM version. Without the cover the 2.0 TFSI engine looks like the North end of a South bound camel.
  23. Cheers Martin. They're a nice car and do a great job at pretty much everything - jack of all trades master of none. I wouldn't give up an R34 V Spec for one though. I managed to inadvertently activate the APR ECU security program on the way home from work yesterday. Had no idea what was happening initially! Had to think my way through it and a bit of roadside Google action to realise why the car would start but nil response from the DBW throttle. Damn fancy pants ECU. Not like the old school computers LOL
  24. APR Australia's Golf R in action:
  25. Yeah it's a bit that like LOL. The Pirelli originally came with P Zeros and even has the P Zero tread pattern through the seats!
