  1. I'm planning on entering if everything goes according to plan. I won't be that exciting to watch (low 12 maybe an 11 if I'm lucky) but it should be fun as I've changed quite a bit since last time I ran. If the last two years are anything to go by it will be a hot one 2004 - 48'C
  2. Yeah true - although I'm guessing it's only a matter of time till cheap and nasty alloy radiators hit the market... shortly followed by cheap decent quality alloy radiators.
  3. 100% agree with you Joel. The factory temp gauge gives you three basic indications - at that's about it: The engine (coolant) is starting to get up to normal operating temperature, The engine is AT normal temp', The engine is overheating. An aftermarket ECU and handset display allows much more accurate monitoring of 'real time' coolant temp's. While we're talking about coolant and radiators - yesterday evening I bought a new 53mm aluminium radiator from Tarek at Racespec. It was $575. (RRP $750) See here - http://www.racespec.com.au/shop_detail.php...d39c82c9167ad0b These radiators are made in the USA using the exact same end tank design as factory, all the same style fittings (temp sensor etc), TIG welded and run twin 26mm cores (26 x 2 = 52mm but they call them 53mm?) Just the thing for summer... and ready for the Nationals - even if it ends up being 48'c again
  4. Yeah of course mate! I'll ring you and organise the details.
  5. BDO line-up isn't good enough for me and the missus to bother this year It's not that bad a line-up but just not up to the standard of previous years - BDO '05 Boiler Room with Carl Cox, Freestylers and Chemical Brothers was awesome! Andrew, Kimmy and I are going to Jamiroquai (saw them last time too) and plan to see U2 as well. They've changed the venue for Jay Kay and the lads mate - it's now at the Entertainment Centre (like last time).
  6. A baby!? Wow! Congrats guys! Not being a regular on the forum these days (work/family commitments - and no access during work ) I must've missed this one?
  7. Yep Tim, I'm still here mate!
  8. Hopefully you can get it sorted mate. Yeah I'm good thanks mate. Bloody busy these days. I'm guessing you guys would be too! How's Cubes junior going? I've just finished sorting a bunch of stuff out myself - only minor. Need to get the car onto the dyno for a quick check before any dyno shootouts. I finally tracked down a boost leak... well it became very obvious when the only remaining OEM rubber IC 90' bend blew completely in half! A quick hose (silicon 90' bend) replacement became a small 2 month long upgrade session... mostly cosmetic and handling stuff. Keen to upgrade to a bigger turbo in the next 6 or so months.
  9. G'day Joel, hey mate if it gets too big I'm happy to just spectate
  10. Good choice Andrew. If you'd gone for another Odyssey it may well have ended in the same result as your last one. I made the mistake of buying an Odyssey a few years back - very bad experience (both with the product and the company). Ask around about Odyssey batteries and see how many have failed within a very short time frame. I've been running a D34 Yellow Top Optima for about 2-3yrs now and it has never missed a beat - the car often sits unstarted for months. The only downside with the D34... it's big, and bloody heavy (almost 20kg from memory).
  11. I might pop down for a look, a catch up with everyone and a run - if there's time towards the end.
  12. Sounds like you guys are having a ball Andrew. I'm guessing Caroline is with you? By the time you read this you will have left Washington so I hope you had a chance to check out the Smithsonian (Smithsonians really as it's 7 musems in total!) the Aerospace museum is awesome! Plus all the usual places: The White House, Arlington (JFK's grave/changing of the guard etc.) The Pentagon and so on. I have vivid memories of my last trip to the States (mid 2001) I even did the trip to the top of the World Trade Centre (can't remember which tower it was) and still have a little Statue Of Liberty that I bought from the gift shop at the top of the WTC. Enjoy the rest of the trip mate. Stay safe. I'll finish off with... GO THE CROWS!!!
  13. Sorry guys Not going to be able to make it, something else has come up - as it always @!#ing does!!! The route looks excellent. Hope you all have a good one.
  14. Good thinking mate!
  15. BOM report Saturday : Fine apart from a possible light shower during the morning. Cool and cloudy with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds. Adelaide City Min 7 Max 17 Headline : Mainly fine. Cloudy.
  16. I can sense a bit of... 'Powered by Honda - gears selected by Nissan' coming up
  17. Hey Stu, Ok I'll admit it, I like the corners too They link the straight bits together I rang Glenn the other night, as I haven't heard from him in a while, but it went to msg bank. I'm pretty sure he's not in Darwin yet. If he has then he's only just gone.
  18. And a few 400m long straight stretches too
  19. Ahhh... what's a few MPH between friends?
  20. If it's a Saturday arvo cruise I might be keen. PM me the details. Thanks
  21. Well done Robbo! You're pretty much as quick as me now mate, and for half the cost!
  22. I thought you said it was two unicycles welded together Matty? Naaa Andy you won't need a head start, Kim's Starlet will only give you a run for your money if the race is based on economy Hmmm... come to think of it I could probably race the Starlet on the go-kart track! I must say, I'm really looking forward to this go-kart outting. It's been a looong time since I caught up with you all. Good chance to say hi to some new (to me) faces too. I can also showoff the new cosmetic changes on my 33 too Nothing major, but I like them. Just going off topic for a sec... I made an interesting little discovery a few weeks ago (I doubt I'm the first though). The plastic-chrome interior door handles fitted to the U13 Bluebird and mid 90's Maximas are exactly the same as the R33 ones (all models). So if your the interior bling bling type then off to the wrecker you go City Dismantlers charge $15+ gst per handle. But they are now out of stock
  23. Hey Andrew No way I'm gonna miss it this time 'round mate! Yeah they hurt like hell the first few days and after 3-4 days of sloppy food I'd had enough. All is back to normal now. Naa Kim's probably going to go to a girls thing that night. But she said next time she'll take you on, both in the Starlet and the go-kart She also said to say hi to you both. Naughty naughty Timmy! Kim didn't see the funny side of having her rear called a wide load Long story... but basically she saw "I assume Kim will come too?" and then saw your message... I didn't bother to clarify. Naaa just kidding, she laughed
  24. Yep, I'm in this time Can I use my Skyline instead of a go-kart? It'll fit
  25. Hey mate, You were right. It wasn't too bad. I saw and said g'day to your friend just as I was leaving (post op) on Thursday. He seemed to have faired reasonably well and was up cruising about with ice packs on each cheek. I'm still not quite up to cruising or go-karting yet And I look like Roger Ramjet Ice cream and soup is getting a bit boring too! Have a great day tomorrow guys and girls.
