  1. I (we) would love to come but it's Kim's bday 'do' the exact same night! Have a good one all Good luck at the drags in the "street R" Erica and John
  2. I'm actually not too bad mate (I'm used to the sun from 5wks of surfing during Xmas/NY) It's just the top of my knees that a tad red... Kim didn't fair quite so well. The Drift Nats was good value... looking forward to the 4, 6 and Rotary Nats now
  3. Sat the 18th is out for me, family stuff to do. Hope you all have a great night! A cruise early in the New Year sounds good.
  4. A 1340kg (2950lb) 240SX, add fluids (30kg) and driver (say 80kg) ='s 1450kg (3200lbs) I would say, going off my results, that a 3200lb 240SX with 290-300rwkw (Dyno Dynamics) should run into the mid 120mph range. Be interesting to see actually! How long till it hits the drag strip underground?
  5. Ferni, That comparo wouldn't be very accurate... A stock R33 GTS25t is a lot heavier than 1340kg. The "dry" weight listed in the Nissan books (I've got them) is 1370kg for the manual and 1390kg for auto. I weigh bridged mine (manual) and it was 1455kg with 1/2 a tank of juice. A wet weight R33 GTS25t is at least 1430kg with minimal fuel on board. The extra 90kg would make a significant difference on the drag strip.
  6. You can't draw a "direct comparision" between the US Dynojet power figures vs. the Aussie Dyno Dynamics - simple as that! The same car run on both dynos back to back would give a markedly different result... the higher figure being on a dynojet. The late Todd Wilkes did quite a bit of research into these two dynos and published the results for all to see on his website - http://www.twinturbov8.com/dynostuff.htm This is not an attempt to take anything away from your results underground... just stating some basic facts bewteen the two dynos.
  7. One shot at "300km/h" per tank... nice effort mate
  8. And maybe even some pistons to attach the ring lands to!
  9. $6.50... that's not a bad nights winnings on the pokies mate
  10. Can you fit a set of 'golf clubs' in the back of it?
  11. No worries Darren To everyone that came along... I hope you had a good time? I know I certainly did! Thanks for making it a great night! Those of you that continued on to the Casino (think it was the Casino?)… sorry we did make it that far. I wasn't feeling too bad the next day, except for being a bit tired... but after 6hrs at Windy Point watching the Classic Adelaide - I was stuffed!
  12. The mid range picked up ~15rwkw and top end has improved by 20rwkw (before/after back to back comparo). As expected, torque is also up and it comes on boost even harder now - which is not so good for the drag strip! The actual peak figure it made is a bit misleading as it wasn't holding boost up top... but still a peak of 270rwkw on 16psi was quite good If I can get it to hold 20-21psi for the drag strip I'll be happy... may need to play with the wastegate actuator. I'd estimate ~300rwkw on 20-21psi on Shaun's new dyno. Or about 315 give or take on the old one. If it won't hold boost then there's nothing left to do but get a bigger turbo or just accept that I can't have good response and big top end. I don't really want to sacrifce mid range for top end either. High 200's to 300 is more than enough for me. Seat of the pants shows it a lot stronger in the mid range (can feel the torque increase). I love the idle too The drag strip will tell the full story.
  13. I used to be all "oooh aaaah" over peak rwkw dyno figures. And I still am to a certainly extent, I certainly do enjoy the whole dyno experience. But I always knew deep down that the peak rwkw number a dyno spits out is not the measure of a cars performance. 'IMHO' it's the piece of paper that I get after completing a successful pass on the drag strip that counts. Or for the circuit guys... it's the lap time that counts (obviously brakes and suspension play a big part here too) . 300rwkw, 350+rwkw - Yep, no doubt about it... they are awesome power figures and at a dyno comp or Autosalon they will gain you some "cred"... 120, 125, 130mph - Now that's what I'm talkin bout girlfriend! I'd rather - 250rwkw and a 12.0 @ 120mph (2.00) than... 300rwkw and 12.5 @ 115mph (2.00) My 2c
  14. You're a worry Irish I tell ya! I was wondering why the car was still shaking... after I'd switched the engine off!
  15. What the!? Why wasn't I informed Will, Andrew??? Please explain? Damn it I would've been keen to see Will run. Congrats on the 13.6 mate! What mph and 60ft? Did John run the street GT-R? And my car was ready to run too! HKS cams tuned and all... gotta love that cammy idle
  16. Good stuff Matty. I'll see you there then mate.
  17. G'day Mike, Thanks mate All the best to you both on your 1st wedding anniversary! I hope you and your wife have a great night at Enzo's! No pressure to make it down for a drink either mate... just make sure you both have a fantastic night.
  18. 1994 GTS25t Hybrid TO3/TO4E (high flowed too - back cut ex wheel etc) CP Forged pistons (8:1 CR) Grex 1.6mm HG ARP rod bolts Port matched manifold 550cc inj and custom top feed rail Malpassi reg 044 pump K&N and custom inlet piping (nil AFM) LT12 Microtech FMIC HKS EBC Full 3" exhaust The list could go on a LOT longer! Also now have HKS cams (256 / 264) Dyno pre HKS cams Boost - Drops away to make peak power of 299.1rwkw @ 1.3bar Dyno post HKS cams Boost - Drops away even worse now! 270rwkw @ 1.1bar Wanted - more $$$ to get a bigger turbo, run 1.5bar and make 300++rwkw
  19. Thanks Stu and Hip Cool Andrew! We'll see you two there then. Hope John and yourself have a good one in Melb Erica You're gonna miss the Classic Adelaide! Bummer dudette Talking of Classic Adelaide (or is it the other way around?) a few of us are keen to go so we should tee something up. Anyone keen?
  20. Thanks for the kind words guys No prob's Tim, Matt, Kym, Joel and anyone else who would come but can't. It was one of those last mintue notice kind of things anyway... so there's no expectations Yep guys, partners are most welcome! I've got a few other friends and their partners coming so the more the merrier... be it for a few drinks, or many Yeah true Will... and I act like a 16yr old most of the time hahaha.
  21. Yes folks, I'm almost another year older! So I thought I'd invite those that know me (and can put up with my crap) along to help me celebrate getting older and more forgetful. I'm past my 30's, but stuffed if I can remember "exactly" how old I am... so let's just call it my second 21st Where - The Bombay Bicycle Club When - "Next weekend!!!" ... Saturday 20th Nov 04 @ 7.30pm (or 1930hrs for those military types) *My b'day is actually the next day (21st - funnily enough) so if we stay out long enough it all works out lovely! How ghey did that sound! haha. Apologies for the late notice everyone! If you can't make it, that's ok... I'll understand. And I'll make sure to take you off my Xmas card list hahaha.
  22. I'm really busy myself atm mate! Family related issues. But I'll have a word to Shaun at Boost Worx and see if he would be interested in helping out - maybe hosting it???
  23. I'd be interested in having a run... never done it before I helped organise the last one and then the engine gave up a week before hand!
  24. I think you'll be surprised Roy. I reckon you might just manage a high 12 with that kind of power mate. If you get enough runs in to score a decent launch followed by a clean pass then you might just do it. Clint ran 12.8 @ 113 with 230rwkw.
  25. Thanks mate. It's not the cleanest it's been. But that's mostly due to me using it a bit more often these days. To be honest guys I won't see anywhere near 300rwkw on Shaun's new dyno. Either my car is down on power or the 290+rwkw numbers were flukes??? As Shaun ran it up the other day for a quick check (had a boost leak) and to do a 'before cams' run and it only made ~250rwkw on 19psi. It made the bigger numbers in cooler weather and more boost (23psi dropping to ~20psi) so I guess the temp and extra 4psi would add a bit more but not THAT much more. The fact that Shaun's new dyno reads some 10-15rwkw lower (as Chris already mentioned) would also be a factor. Having noted all that, the car doesn't "feel" any slower. I can still get the Nittos to spin like crazy at 80+k The drag strip will tell the full story. If I can get 121+mph TS or a flat 12/high 11sec pass I'll be happy enough.
