  1. I'm really looking foward to this go-kart day now! I soooo badly wanted to have a crack at the track without 20+ other slow-arse drivers when we had our corporate day! I knew 29's were easy enough to achieve. But a 28! Nice job Matty. We should have a qualifying session. Each person gets a couple of laps on an empty track to set the fastest time they can manage. It's probably not the most efficent use of the time, but a couple of laps each wouldn't take too long.
  2. Yeah very true Andrew, it's not going to make much of a difference. I just rang Simon (the guy I mentioned above) and he said that it's possible to make at least a 10hp gain just by using light weight pistons and rods. 10hp isn't much, but it all adds up.
  3. If the new forged internals are lighter in weight than the OEM parts, then surely the reduction in mass would result in a slight horsepower advantage? At the very least you'd expect an increase in response. Edit: Just adding to the above... A friend/ex-work colleague of mine (Simon Butterworth) used to run an 8sec Thunderbird drag car. I recall him mentioning how they aimed for incredibly light weight internals so they could maximise horsepower. Obviously there's a big difference btw an 11sec GT-R and an 8sec drag car, but the same principles apply.
  4. Not bad, not bad at all. Do you think a set of Nittos would help get into the 24's?
  5. Sk, will do mate. It won't be for a little while though, but as soon as funds are healthy, in go the cams! I'm hearing you Ben. I could almost buy a GT-R for the cost of my mods/tuning alone (~30k)! That's every little mod I've done though, including non-performance items like stereo etc.
  6. Will do.
  7. Well I'm convinced! My next mod will be cams
  8. Let me guess? Matty holds the 26sec record?
  9. I'd say I could've got well into the 29's, maybe even fluke a high 28? As I ran the 30 with heaps of slower traffic. I didn't get a shot at a clear track the whole event With 60-70 people sharing a crap load of carts, you can imagine how busy the track was! A 26-27sec lap is flying! I would'nt have a hope in hell of going that quick.
  10. I might bring my own fuel
  11. Lucky my arse Tim! I got skillz. Yeah ok I got lucky Dean, it was the full track. And from memory I think I ran a 30.01sec lap?
  12. I'm running an internal gate turbo and stock manifold (cleaned up and port matched). I run ~20psi to make ~290rwkw in non shootout mode. This is with 8:1 compression too.
  13. Helmets have to be full face too! We did a corporate day at the Gepps Cross track about 2mths ago, I took my open face helmet (my drag racing helmet) but they wouldn't allow it. *Brag* - I got the 2nd fastest time of the day, out of the 60-70 people that competed
  14. 1JZ - LOTS of potential.
  15. Steve uses his roll cage Martin, he hangs his clothes on it when the factory clothes hanger is already full Yeah Steve, you can borrow my neons, did you want my plastic look-a-like intercooler too? Hey you know how I've got the leaking BOV problem? I was actually thinking of blocking the BOV fitting off and just using one of those pretend electronic BOVs instead. That way I get the sound, without the leaks! Lach, I'm pretty sure the next AIR meet is on the 6th of June? As I mentioned in the PM mate, I'm heading down to BW on Friday. The plan is to trial a muffler change (current Trust muffler is very quiet, and restrictive) and have a play with the BOV in an attempt to fix the leaking issue. You should see if you can head to BW as well? We could do a back to back comparo'.
  16. Steve just needs to whack the stickers down the doors and he'll have the complete Rice Boy package
  17. Yeah I'm keen. Sunday. Weight 300kg (Ok I'm really 81kg) Steve and I should be paired up, but with a head start due to our weight
  18. Excellent stuff Lach' As per usual, Shaun comes up with the goods. Our cars are damn near identical in terms of power/torque now mate! I do run more boost (~20-21psi) to make ~ the same power, but that's to be expected with the lower comp ratio. I'm still using the stock ext manifold, but it was cleaned up and port matched. You'd better be out at the next AIR meet with me mate! We can try and run vs. each other. It'll make a damn good grudge match
  19. Yeah fair call.
  20. Jealousy? Who's jealous? This little black duck sure as shit isn't. The R34 is a bloody nice model of Skyline, both GT-R and GT-T. But I'm very happy with my GTS25t and it'd take a damn nice R34 to want to start all over again!
  21. I've edited "isn't the greatest" out of the post mate. Your photographer skillz are no longer in question
  22. Yep, I agree with Meg's, wind the boost down till you get it sorted. I know Clint (Clint32 from SA section of SAU) got 230rwkw (308rwhp) out of his RB20DET injectors. I'm not sure what fuel pump, reg, or pressure that was with though? He ran 12.8 @ 113mph with that power level. Nice dyno and 1/4 numbers too Meg's!
  23. 12.8 A/FR up top is getting a tad too lean for my liking! Are you sure it's 'just' your injectors? What fuel pump are you using? What's your fuel pressure doing across the rev range?
  24. Hey summoner, you and I would be damn near neck and neck!
  25. I quite like having a 'long shaft'. Sorry, I couldn't resist
