  1. I've run my best ET's with just 13psi in a set of RE540S's. I also made HUGE improvements by doing a burnout. The bigger the burnout the better the 60"... every time without fail.
  2. Welcome to SA and SAU AJ
  3. Yep, Shaun can tune Motec ECU's
  4. I wouldn't actually carry out my above mentioned little stunt, so my 'class' is still intact
  5. No need to report my post Tim, I've already reported it... to ME!
  6. Let's keep things under control here everyone.
  7. The roll cage is not mine and I think it's already sold? Have a look at the D1 garage web site, or give them a ring.
  8. LOL.... yeah good call Mel. I was actually planning on letting it all hang out, that way I could generate MUCH MORE interest It might not be the kind of interest I want though? Hey! I know... how about this for an idea? I could do a small mpg of me sitting in one of the seats and pretending to be running a 1/4 mile pass! Naked but with my helmet on of course... no not THAT helmet you idiots. True Steve, very true
  9. Ahhh bugger it, I give up. Better chalk me up in the "cheatin' full drag trim" list then If I use Nitrous on the drag strip but I'm only breathing it in via a bottle strapped to my back and a diving respirator, would that also add to my list of cheater mod's?
  10. Yeah Chris, I'm hearing you re Laurie. It's a damn shame he's no longer at the Gouger St Bridgestone, mind you even if he was I don't think he'd be able to do good prices on R rubber. I remember Laurie telling me when I got my RE540S' that it was about to be a one dealer show. Obviously that dealer is Kym Davis Tyres. Laurie worked on the principle of a small mark-up and large volume. Kym Davis probably works on a large mark-up but small volume It's a pity. My 540's cost $310 for 255/40/17 and $280 for 235/45/17. The current average price for a 235/45/17 RE55S is $360+ according to Steve.
  11. Hmmm... it's interesting to note what each of us considers a "street tyre". I personally think that NT555R Nittos ARE a true street tyre. I use them on the rear as my daily driven rubber. I also use RE540S's as my everyday rubber on the front. Both of these are true road legal radial tyres that anyone of us can use all day everyday. Sure, they may well give a grip advantage over non semi-comp rubber, but the same can be said of top-of-the-range Bridgestone S03 and the like vs. POS retreads! IMHO if it's a treaded radial that is road legal in Australia it IS a "street tyre" A cross-ply slick or semi-slick (e.g Mickey Thompson ET Street) is NOT a street tyre.
  12. Sorry Steve It's an absolutely lovely photo, you should be very proud of it Yeah good call re e-bay mate! I'll see how I go.
  13. Nice wheels mate. A simple yet 'tuff' design. They look like they'd be easy to clean.
  14. Ahhh I see, well 18's it is then *Homer Simpson voice* "Mmmmmm... deep dish"
  15. If I was you mate I'd go for 17's over 18's. If you fit a 255-265 40 profile on the rear it'll give you a bit more sidewall, and that's just what you want off the line! Cheaper to replace too! Cost will be a big issue if you intend to run semi-comp rubber, even with contacts in the tyre business. If you're aiming for all round grip and looks... 18's would be the go. If I were you I'd still look at 17's with 40 profile on the rear. A set of RE55S's on 17's would be bloody awesome in the twisty stuff (it was with 540S's) and still give you a bit of sidewall to play with on the street/strip. My 275/40/17 Nitto NT555R's were bought off Keir Wilson (via Martin and Steve) they have ~80% tread left New they are ~high $400's to $500ea I think? I'd hate to think how much 18" NT555R's would be! The best bet would be to ask Martin where Keir gets his Nittos from? Maybe even ring around a few tyre dealers till you find one that can get them in. I know the GT Autosound guys could help you locate someone local that sells BFG Drag Radials (same as Nittos).
  16. As per the thread title - I have a 2nd hand set of early style Recaros in excellent condition! Asking $600 but open to offers. D1 WERE asking ~$650 for the same ones in poorer condition, see here - These seats fit straight into the JZA70 (MK3) Supra and anything else with that bolt pattern. *Note*- they WILL NOT bolt straight into a R32/33 but all that is needed is the right brackets. I also have my old stock GTS seats up for grabs. $300 While I'm at it I may as well add my stock RB25DET fuel rail and 6 x 370cc side feed injectors if anyone is interested? $200
  17. I know this should be in the for-sale section but I'm after a local sale so I'll start here. As per the thread title - I have a set of 2nd hand Recaros in excellent condition! D1 WERE asking ~$650 for the same ones in poorer condition, see here - It's not the greatest picture but you get the idea. These seats fit straight into the JZA70 (MK3) Supra and anything else with that bolt pattern. I'm open to all "reasonable" offers on them. *Note*- they WILL NOT bolt straight into a R32/33 but all that is needed is the right brackets. I also have my old stock GTS seats up for grabs. Once again I'll take any reasonable offer. While I'm at it I may as add my stock fuel rail and 6 x 370cc side feed injectors if anyone is interested?
  18. RE540's (RE55's) are excellent on the street, especially around corners, but Nittos win hands down in the straight line department! Nittos aren't bad around corners, they just don't "feel" as good as the RE's due to their softer sidewall. You WILL have traction issues on the RE's. I would almost bet on it! Even the Nittos struggle at times. Obviously both tyres perform better with plenty of heat in them. When they're cold... watch out!!!
  19. Well done to the GT Autosound lads. 9's are only a matter of time with those results, especially that mph! I noticed that Nino's ( ) Speed article plugged the GT S15 as a "street driven car"... C'mon now Nino when does it really get driven around the streets of Adelaide? On the back of a truck doesn't count
  20. Me the ladies man, Ross and his bad taste pick-up lines, Dean the closet Queer Eye fan, Steve with nothing to wear and Bl4cK32's hair in a tizzy... what a thread! Hmmm.... that's a rather interesting sig' you've got there 9k (I'm talking about the bottom line)
  21. Bloody nitrous cheater (Just in case someone reads this post and has no sense of humour - that was a joke!)
  22. Bummer! I would’ve been up for it in a flash mate. Alas I'm not back in SA till Friday night If you don't get a runner and have to postpone it till the next meet... I'll be there with bells on. I’ve used the old model G-tech a few times in the past, so I shouldn’t have too much trouble getting it set-up correctly (within the short time frame available).
  23. Ross, I might give that one a miss thanks mate!
  24. Yeah Martin, I've been working on becoming a bit of a "ladies man" of late. I've found myself lacking though - I think it's my pick-up lines? They're a tad out-dated Edit: So when did you/Simon start training Matt (Redline) to tune Power FC's? i.e the pic in the latest HPI
