  1. Hell yeah! I'll take you up on that offer Mel.... but only if we can do a spirited run up the Gorge in reverse? As in.... only using reverse gear
  2. I'd love to head over to Heathcote, even just to watch! Unfortunately it's not good timing for me Not unless someone has a spare seat in their aircraft (just a quick day trip) Matt (Matty Lowth - too many bloody Matt's ) No prob's mate I'll see what I can come up with re a photo or 2. Chris, the contact details for 'Slammed Mobile Guard Rolling' are: Jeff Hughes 0401 400 005 He's only too happy to travel to wherever you want Yeah mate it's amazing the gains I've made with my set-up in recent months. I'll probably hang up my drag racing boots if I run an 11.
  3. I can still spin the Nittos under straight line WOT 2nd gear acceleration Having said that though it doesn't light it up as easily as the 540's did. A few repeated WOT blasts soon see a build-up of heat and with it an increase in grip. With less pressure and more heat they're going to be nice and sticky!
  4. He did a bloody good job mate! Very impressed and would happily recommend him to others. He charges $55 a corner, and he comes to YOU (home, office etc...) He heats the paint up first and then uses the hub roller to roll the lip completely flat. There isn't so much as a single crack in the paint on the very edge of the guards, or externally either Up inside the guard on the internal section of lip that gets folded up the paint copped a few chips (to be expected with a big roller going over and over it) but other than that it's perfect! We loaded up the boot with a few large people and got the arse end squating as much as possible. The 275 Nittos fit without a drama now, even with very little neg camber (-0.6) Pity I didn't get a chance to see just how much of an improvement they could give me I rushed around like a headless chook (buying Nittos, getting guards rolled, wheel alignment and then washing the car etc...) only to end up all-dressed-up-and-nowhere-to-go
  5. Cool! I might go around and get some How much do they want for it hehehe
  6. If I'm not using mine then no prob's mate, but if we're running at the same meet it's a tad hard to both use 'em!
  7. You wanna run 9's!?!? No wonder you need big arse pumped guards, you'll need them to house the rubber needed to run a 9sec pass in RWD Hehehe... oh, you mean 9inch wide
  8. Thanks Steve. Have sorted out a fix, I hope!
  9. Thanks for the help fellas Late breaking news - I've got a guy that does mobile guard rolling ("Slammed" is the business name) coming around tomorrow arvo to do them. He uses a heat gun and the usual hub bolt-on rolling tool. After he's done it's straight up the road for a quick alignment and that "should" be all that's needed, fingers crossed! Clint, how wide have you gone in both rim and tyre? Is the R32 rear guard less accomodating than the R33? I sure hope I can get away with just a lip and camber job!? PLEASE!
  10. Thanks Clint, it's a start! They "should" be ok with just the lip rolled. I may still need to run a bit of neg camber (no more than 1.0').
  11. As the thread topic says, I need my rear guards lipped to clear my 275/40/17 Nittos. I need it done ASAP!!! For the drags tomorrow night. Naturally I want it to be a decent quality job and would prefer it be done by someone that comes to you (don't want to drive on them if I don't need to) Failing that then someone in the Nth Eastern suburbs will do nicely.
  12. Nothing ever goes according to plan... I need my guards rolled ASAP! The Nittos are on but unless I run huge neg camber they rub on the the guard lip like buggery The left rear doesn't rub but the right has already done some minor damage It's only cosmetic thankfully. So, can anyone point me in the direction of a place/person that does QUALITY guard lipping/rolling? Preferably in the Nth East area, or even better someone that does mobile guard rolling. I might post this up as a seperate thread, as I need it done ASAP if I'm to run the upcoming AIR meet!
  13. Love the Bentley Martin. All you need is super low sus, a set of 20's and you'll have full VIP style I now have the Nittos (70+% tread) in the boot of the Sigma, thanks again Steve (& keir - damn nice bloke too) Hopefully by COB today they'll be on the rear of the Skyline A quick wheel aligning sesh tomorrow and then it's off to AIR. See you there Matt (check your PM too mate).
  14. Cheers for the info Matt.
  15. Don't say that Steve! I want my clutch to last a bit longer yet! I'd say you'll go closer to high 120's Matt. Buster has run 128mph with the same power as you.
  16. If all goes according to plan, tomorrow night!
  17. Hahaha... you got in before I edited my last post mate. Yeah as I said above at the very least you'll go low 11's with BIG mph. EDIT: Helps if I read ALL the post! No mate I'm fairly soft with my gear changes. Quick, but not brutal. I never even get 3rd chirping! Unless the track is very slippery and my tyres aren't hot enough, in which case it doesn't just chirp it spins!
  18. That's the plan Joel. To get the Nittos doing their job you have to go for a big burnout. I'm ready to progress to Burnout Basics 102 With over 350rwkw I can see why your clutch can't handle it Matt! With decent grip you should be looking at low 11's at least mate!
  19. Which Nittos you running Matt? 555R Extreme Drags? If so, it's good to hear they handle the hills stuff too.
  20. Matt, no prob's so far! Surprisingly the single plate has handled the job without protest. Then again I did manage to get over 20 passes out of the OEM Nissan clutch, some with 250+rwkw onboard. AIR does have a website, but I can't remember what the address is? Try a search on SAU under 'AIR', as I recall someone posting a link not long back. I'm gonna give it a good shot Steve! Just noticed GOT BOOST in WA ran 11.67 @ 120mph (1.6 60ft !!!) on 555R's, so even with my shitty driving skills I should go 1.8-1.9
  21. A deal has been struck. Thanks Steve, you're a champ If all goes according to plan I'll be heading to AIR tomorrow night to see how I go
  22. ARGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Steve you bitch! Damn it, I go out for a few hours and look what happens Steve, if you want to do some kind of a swap (with cash adjustment if need be) let me know mate. For your type of driving the 540's would be much better suited. It makes perfect sense to do a swap We can chat about it at work tomorrow. Either way, thanks for teeing it up Martin
  23. Glad you had fun Erica.
