My R33 GTS25t has ABS (no trac on the R33) and with an LT12 Microtech I still have working ABS

Dean, might I suggest saving for upgraded injectors and not trying to push the stockies to mid/high 200rwkw levels! Take it from me mate, an extra 1k or so (for 550's) now is better than replacing a piston or two down the track. Do a search and see how many RB25DET rebuilds have occured with stock injector, bigger turbo, GTS25t's. I got away with it for a while. I "may" have got away with it for longer with a very conservative tune? I use to post on here supporting the 044, reg and higher f/press combo. Not anymore! Of course if you'd like to go the whole hog, do forgies, lower the comp ratio and go for big boost... then go for it mate! It's heaps of fun

250rwkw is one thing, but how much boost do you intend to use to make that power? I'd suggest at least 7 heat range for 250rwkw power levels. I've used many different plugs over the 4yrs I've been playing with my RB25DET. BCPR6ES & 7ES's are good at moderate boost levels, but I found them to be below par once I started running above 1.2-1.3bar. I have never had a single drama using BKR7EVX or BKR8EVX. I've run up to 25psi, near on 300rwkw, plenty of drag strip passes and well over 12mths use from the same set. At ~16ea they're more expensive than $4 BCP coppers, but I've never had a set of copper last more than 500km's without suffering from misfires under the above conditions. I run a 0.8mm gap with the BKR's

I'm running an LT12 on my GTS25t. My cold start idle is fine!
-
Thanks again mate. I'm not one for HUGE burnouts, but if that's what the Nittos need to stick, then so be it I'd like to try and squeeze 275/40/17's on the back.
-
Thanks for the info Buster As soon as funds are available NT555's will be going onto the rear. If they last me 2-3k, with a couple of drag meets mixed in, I'll be happy enough. The used pair you had for sale, they were 16's weren't they? Sorry for the small hijack everyone... carry on
-
Congrats on getting into the 11's mate You just can't beat a mild street GT-R set-up. An 11sec street car that can put its power down with minimal fuss, you've got to love that. 4WD ='s sub 2.0 60's even if you can't drive to save yourself, like me Just going off topic for a sec... Buster (Brett?) do you use your NT555's for general street driving? And if so, how do you rate them?

doglet, I bought my helmet from Revolution Racegear on Main North Rd. AIR don't appear to have a site anymore? If you keep an eye on www.fullboost.com.au you see the upcoming AIR events. Joel, you soon will have traction issues mate

Hey Andy, I've been taping my overflow outlet with race tape (Airframe tape - RAAF stuff) for the last few meets. Keeps 'em happy no prob's. That's with the bottle to the full mark as well! They're fairly particular with certain areas Joel. Below is what they always check on my car: Wheel nuts - Must be exposed. I've got threaded alloy centres on my Volks that they make me take off, even though they get done up tight as hell (via a Volk spanner) I still have to remove them whilst racing so they can see the wheel nuts! Helmet - ADR compliant. A basic ADR certified helmet is less than $100, I think I paid $80 on special. Battery - Is secure. I have to drop the rear boot trim for them to see it. Coolant overflow - Is either empty or blocked, to prevent leakage onto the track. No obvious leaks - engine, diff, radiator etc... If it isn't dripping out and it's cleaned before hand, you WON'T have a problem. Seats/belts - They in working order/bolted in securely. Lights - They checked my brake lights the other night!? Tyres - Aren't totally shot and about to blow! There's a few other minor things, but basically as long as nothing is obviously a potential hazard then you'll be ready to run What lunatics were sliding all over the place? On the footage that Andy burnt for me the other arvo you can hear the wheels spinning/squealing over the entire pass, not just on each gear change but the whole way down the strip, even in 4th. That was on the 12.6 pass too. It's not as bad on a regular street meet but I have had 2nd and 3rd let go a few times.
-
Martin, your kidding? 4th gear with nothing but WOT!? That's impressive! I watched a couple of Keir's passes the other night. That car is an awesome display of brute power Japanese style. I might start working on my burnout skills, using the Sigma. If I can manage to get IT smoking on the spot the GTS should be easy! Yep Joel my diff is still standard. It'd be nice to do a diff upgrade but no $ for it atm. Hmmm... so doing the burnout out of the water is the go!?
-
Naa it's all cool you guys, I'm just shit stirring with the 2nd gear thing and Martin Nothing serious. Martin's dead right about me needing to get my shit together and make the most of the cars potential though. It's not like I don't expect everyone to be an arm chair expert lol
-
Sam, I was only stuffing around Well I've just watched the footage the lads took on Wednesday night (thanks again fellas) and I've gotta' say you blokes are a tad harsh There's a few rough comments from the gallery on there. Ahh... stuff ya's, I'll get there in my own good time! Everybody goes through a learning stage... I'm going through mine atm. And Martin, "why doesn't he grab 2nd gear?" I start my burnout (attempt) IN 2nd!
-
Andy, I can come round later tonight, if that's ok? PM me your number (have been meaning to get it for a while anyway) and I'll ring you later. Thanks mate
-
Dean you idiot "Hey", come to think of it, I am recently on the single scene, so don't scare them off me!
-
I agree with you Dean. I'd say the Fullboost site doesn't take into account.... shall we say... local road registered car "issues" that occur in SA (Adelaide). Whereas Mark from Pulsar Parts is only too well aware. Sam (MiTSiCHiCK), I'm guessing you're talking about me? If so... thanks
-
Yep mate, I'm VERY keen to have a look at the vid's! Thanks for filming me Andy, when can I drop 'round for a look? I'd be happy for them to be posted up, if that's possible?
-
Yeah I noticed that Tim, probably helps that I know the photographer I really do need to replace that GT-R badge.
-
Thanks Joel. You'll certainly have the power to do low 12's mate.
-
Hey Andy, you'll be pleased to know that Mark @ Pulsarparts snapped about 4 or so pic's of you from the 17th Go to... www.pulsarparts.com.au select "Local car events" and you'll see the link to the 17th Mar meet. EDIT: Make that 6 pic's, including the intro money shot!
-
Very nice Joel!

Without the ability to select different maps to suit the different fuel types (differing burn rates / RON) the ONLY way you can make a difference is via handset tuning changes (+ timing or - timing as req'd) or physically moving the CAS.
-
Yeah I know dude, need to start saving for them. We need a few sets of communal Nittos for each states SAU members
-
amu, It's amazingly simple to tune for C16 and then run pulp. It's achieved using an ECU that allows multiple maps. It literally takes all of 5 sec's to switch from the 98RON map to the C16 map to the LMS map to the cod liver oil map (ok so that last one is stretching the truth a tad). I have 4 maps in my handset that I select from depending on what I'm doing. At the drag strip I select my "Valet" map, hmmm.... maybe that's why I can't seem to rev over 3,000rpm!? But seriously... if wreckedhead is using an ECU that has a multi map option then he CAN use C16 and make full use of it. Just as easily he can fill up with 98, select his 98RON map and be safe in the knowledge the timing is not overly advanced (depending on how agressive the tune is). If wreckedhead has only one map to choose from then I'm as baffled as the rest of you!?
-
Thanks ecenshu. Dean, I know Andy ran a few 12.9's (109mph) I don't think he had a PB. Don't know about the others? I didn't see any R33 GT-R's out there at all.

A Skyline holds #1 spot in the 'RWD above 2400cc' class! Well done.
