  1. 350rwkw is a bit too much for my engine to manage Hip. Edit - Not too much for the engine but I doubt my current turbo combo has enough in it. A big dyno number is all well & good, but I'd rather run decent numbers at AIR I'd love to put MattR's HKS on, but the budget won't allow it (actually I've got the $$$ but the Mrs won't allow it ) Oops! Mrs just read that over my shoulder :type: :slap: *ouch that hurt*
  2. Cheers mate I've yet to rack up much more than 100k's I plan to do a few 200-300k hills stints during quite periods. Being Xmas & lots happening it's hard to get time to go for a 'low key' drive. I'm not keen to do the daily driver thing. LOL I like your 1 session idea Could always go to Melb' & back. It'd be painfully slow going back & forth through the gears all the way to vary the rpm though. I'll post up dyno fig's as soon as it happens, early in the new yr I'm guessing.
  3. 308rwkw to 448rwkw. That's one hell of a jump in power! Maybe it made 308 on 0.5 bar & they ran 1.5bar on Salon day? 308rwkw I certainly believe.
  4. Yeah I went for a look. I was lending a hand/watching my next door neighbour in his Stanza (ran a best 15.8 @ 86mph) Quite a few cars running, despite the weather & other delays. Track prep was as per usual for a Wed' night. Andrew, 3 x S15's were running (2 silver!) J spec was one of them. "I" didn't see anything better than a low/mid 13.
  5. Done
  6. Well if the engine failure news is true, not very much!
  7. Yep the 400+rwkw Autosalon run was a dyno glitch. Engine failure hey? Hmmm... interesting.
  8. I hadn't actually Hip! Edit - Ok... you busted me Steve Well I picked the car up yesterday (15Dec) & after 80k’s it already feels soooo good to be driving a Skyline again! The down side is having to do 2000k's of painfully tame running in mileage The engine starts & runs as if it were still stock on the inside (nice & smooth - nil piston slap). It actually feels "more" responsive than I recall, possibly helped by a dump pipe change & lighter reciprocating mass. It also still has plenty of RB25DET off-boost torque, something I’ll be using a lot in the next few 1000k’s. I might see a few of you in the hills in the coming wks, I’ll be the one driving very sedately: )
  9. Nice 60's Martin, if they were on street rubber?
  10. Bummer about the crank bearing mate Good excuse to build a really strong motor though.
  11. No coolant, just water for the run in phase. It'll go straight on the dyno, but only for a basic check & a bit of load to help with ring bed in. It'll be a few wks before any serious dyno work takes place.
  12. I have a few bits that can help make a... 'Regency Kit'
  13. The good ol' car vs. bike topic Go straight to the worlds quickest (in a straight line) cars & bikes.... Top fuel & Top bike. It's a win for the car.
  14. Not a bad idea 4door.
  15. G'day Matty, Thanks dude Mate I might go with 3 x Ricermatics, should be good for 15-20rwkw each! Yeah we're stoked on the posting/promotion. More $$$, a nice fat lump sum payment, & best of all 3+yrs more in the defect capital of OZ - Adelaide. You'll have to put up with Tan & me Well you see me & put up with Tan hahaha Cheers mate. Here's the new pic -
  16. I feel for you mate How low does your car sit? What measurement did they use to say it was too low?
  17. Dean, I've got a stock BOV you can borrow mate. Is the BOV the only thing they pinged you for?
  18. Boost Worx is down south - Panorama. Too bloody far from me on a Friday peak hr
  19. Doh! LOL Nice pick up! That's an area normally obscured by the dump pipe (off ATM being modified) Thanks for pointing it out, I'll give the area a once over
  20. Knore, Do you mean EVERYTHING? As in all internal engine work, bolt-ons (turbo, FMIC etc...) & all lines polishing and so on...??? If so I'd take a few months at a rough guess. Sourcing all the parts, getting the time to do the work & then setting everything up can easily blow out to faaar longer though! If you mean just the appearance stuff, then ~2-3wks. All the best with it, which ever way you decide to go mate. Hip, Naa not finished yet. Still got a few more little things up my sleeve. The fuel lines & Speedflow fittings are yet to be done (see f/hose on inner LHS guard). The polished turbine heat shield is yet to go on. A few more silicon lines, new stainless clamps etc... Polished radiator air guide. New seats will go in early in the new yr too. The list is endless......
  21. Hip, Brand new ET Streets & a good suspension aligning session made a huge improvement on the strip. ET Streets are a drag radial tyre made by Mickey Thompson. They're DOT approved which technically makes them street legal. "There's a simple way of identifying whether or not a tyre is legal for road use. If it has "DOT" or "E" written on the sidewall, it's passable - no probs. DOT is the US abbreviation for the Department of Transport, while "E" is the recognised European compliance symbol. Having said that, it wouldn't be unthinkable to get pulled over by the police for supposedly "bald tyres" - regardless of their technical legality." The car is with Boost Worx now as the mechanic linked with the car moved from RPM to set up his own workshop. So the car moved with him. Tim, I'd say traction would've been a huge factor in who hosed who on the street! Neither cars have/had a lot of traction on road rubber. Ben mentioned turning the tyres @ 180+ on the road.
  22. Yeah mate sure have! I remember reading articles on the MKIV JZA80 Supra when it was first released in Japan. It was my #1 choice when I got interested in imports back in the early-mid 90's. They were a touch too expensive back then though Hence I got the Skyline instead. I've gone too far with the GTS to start again now
