  1. G'day, Ben Your humorous topic title caught my attention. I then saw the track photos and realised it's an SA based car. Then the penny dropped... the black beast from Boostworx! I've had a decent look over your 33 a couple of times whilst it was in at BW. I've known Shaun for years, well before BW existed. My burgundy 33 is a regular there and was sharing workshop space with your car for a fair portion of 2015. I'm keen to see the end result of your build. I'll be sure to check back from time to time. Cheers, Matt
  2. A piece of string is always twice as long as it is from one end to the middle, unless it's a one-ended piece of string.
  3. Excellent condition overhauled and detailed R33 GTS25t callipers, RDA slotted rotors, ADR approved braided lines and QFM A1RM pads $520ono R33 GTS25t series 1 headlights, excellent condition $160ono Autometer Sport Comp boost/vac gauge (30psi) 2"5/8, including complete fitting kit $55
  4. I'll let you know when I'm planning on heading to AIR mate. The more of us there the better. http://racingonn.com.au lists the off-street and competition meeting dates. The Four, Six, Rotary and Turbo Nationals are on in November ;-)
  5. Been a while since I used KU36 but they were dirt cheap when I bought them a couple of years back, shitloads cheaper than Nittos! For the right price KU36s aren't bad as a daily driver tyre.
  6. When Hankook originally released the RS3 their UTQG was 140 AA A - the set I ran on my GT-Four N were stamped 140. The later 200 treadware rated RS3 is exactly the same compound. Yoko A050s are just fine as a street tyre, on a non-daily... speaking from experience.
  7. The rear guards are rolled, but that's it. Fronts are untouched and I'm running brand new inner guard liners. No scrubbing at all, although there's not a lot of clearance - between the outer lip of the rim and guard, and inner lip and bottom spring platform.
  8. No worries mate. I'm happy enough to wait till the next major show. I'm also looking forward to heading out to the strip later in the year, once I've run-in the new engine.
  9. Was really keen to take the new (well 95% of it is new) and improved 33 to AJD but I have to fly out to Syd the same day!
  10. I suggest you get it compression and leak-down tested.
  11. Turbocharger seals don't fail as such, worn or damaged turbocharger bearings fail and that will allow oil to leak through the seals. Many years ago my 33 RB25DET had a piston ringland let go, no loss of power, no loss of boost, no coolant/oil mix issues, no abnormal noises, no signs of anything untowards in the catch can... white oil smoke out the exhaust was the only indicator.
  12. Thanks. Work XD9 was another wheel high on my list.
  13. Cool! Once you've fitted the FP .85 our turbo spec's will match. The slightly larger housing should result in a small increase in top end. Your RB30 combo has the 26 head doesn't it? Let me know how you go once the new housing is up and running.
  14. Typical US freight prices. You could try ordering it through one of many FP retailers and see if their freight charges are better, or use a freight forwarding company.
  15. G'day Daz. Ha-ha, you know me, boardline OCD level of cleanliness and attention to detail.
  16. G'day Andrew. Thanks mate. Yeah I'm super keen to see what it can do once the shackles come off!I went with the FP .85 V-band
  17. I seriously considered CE28N, awesome looking wheel and very light. Thanks. My new wheels are Advan RZ-DF http://www.yokohama.com.au/ADVAN-Wheels/ADVAN-RZDF.aspx The rear 18 x 10s weigh ~7.9kg! I took another slightly better pic.
  18. My new engine build is finished and I'm currently 300ish kilometres through a 1000klm run in period - engine builder/tuner mandated run in period. I'm currently stuck with 4,000rpm and approx' 2psi boost limiters. Early seat-of-the-pants impression is very promising, with the boost limiter interrupting proceedings in a flash! During the run-in tune he gave it a very brief squirt up to 7psi, it took less than 2000rpm. The engine bay is filthy dirty at the moment (by my standards) I'll eventually get around to detailing the car once the remaining new parts (billet TB, K-Sport BBK, Nismo diff' and IQ3) are fitted.
  19. Thread revival time! They're not the best looking wheels on a R33 GTS25t, but they're certainly one of the lightest and I think they look alright. Mine in 18x9 & 18x10 +35, and the same wheel in 19" on a NSX.
  20. The photos show most of the detail, but to clarify, they are top feed 14mm. They supported 390kW at the wheels on E85 - could possibly support more with large fuel lines and dual pump set-up.
  21. Immaculate condition, practically brand new, silver and machined lip Lenso D1R wheels in 18x8.5 +35 & 18x9 +32. Fitted with Falken RT615 235/40/18 90% tread and Toyo R888 265/35/18 85% tread. Will throw in a full set of red anodised alloy wheel lock nuts (set of 20 M12x1.25) and locknut tool. Fitted on my R33 for about 2,000klms (just replaced with new Advan RZ-DF and Yoko A050) $950 wheels & tyres R33 GTS25t series 1 headlights in very good condition - see h/lights in attached car photo. $350 pair Siemens 910cc injectors. Purchased new for E85 set-up, used for approx 2000klms, have since upgraded to larger injectors. Excellent condition & come with collars to suit RB25DET $300 set of 6 Complete R33 GTS25t front and rear brake package, including VHT red painted 4 pot and 2 pot callipers, RDA slotted rotors (never used on track - 2000klms street use), QFM A1RM pads (80%) ADR approved BF Goodrich braided lines with red boots. $500 Detailed photos of headlights and brake components (now both removed from car) to follow shortly. Fastidious owner so all parts in excellent condition.
  22. FBRacing, thanks mate! I have used a fair range of entry level club/road performance tyres, drag tyres and semi-competition tyres over the last 15 years, NT555R, RE540S, KU36, RS3, RT615, ET Street Radial 1 & 2, R888, A048, and now the A050. I've not had the A050s for long enough to give you an idea of expected road mileage, but over 10k (miles) is probably a bit on the optimistic side. It also depends how hard you are on them. Both the KU36 and RS3 returned reasonable mileage (approx. 12mths or 15-20k klms of mild to spirited road use). The KU36s were the earlier 180 treadwear version, as opposed to the newer KU36 which I believe is 200. The Hankook RS3s were 140.
