  1. Hurry up and join the club already mate You attended enough of our events last year that the savings would pay for your membership in no time flat
  2. Ah Ghosty, didn't you learn your lesson last time?
  3. As much as I love the location, what is everyone's opinion on a change of location? I'm easy as to where we go, just seems like less people attending since we left ikes cremé.
  4. How soon do you want it and are you after brand new or second hand?
  5. They should try for the VK engine that they use in Japan's Super GT series. I think they have a 4.5L and a 5.5L V8 race engine for different cars, all producing in excess of 500HP or more.
  6. So, anyone looking for a room mate/new place to live soon? I need to find a new, cheaper place to live by mid march as my lease is up early April. Can't afford to keep paying $260 a week, looking to spend $180 tops.
  7. I'd want to make sure the buyer is serious. Also wouldn't let them behind the wheel without getting license details from them so if something goes wrong you have the ability to track them down (speeding ticket during test drive etc.)
  8. I know the ZR-1 gets the batshit insane LS9 but I thought the regular corvettes had the LS3 that we get for the HSV's?
  9. What mid 90's Euro had Navagiation, TV or HUD's? I've never seen an Audi, BMW, Merc etc with any of that gear from factory until 5 years ago. Not putting you down, genuinely curious. Performance vs cost is all over the shop. Look at the E30 M3 vs 964 Turbo vs 32 GT-R. All from the same era, late 80's early 90's but prices were all over the shop depending on where you were buying the car.
  10. And that was $60,000 in the early 1990's for some of those cars, probably worth a hell of a lot now (inflation an all that.) You just have to look at some of the features on the cars to see how ahead of the curve they were. Digital dashes, in car Nav/DVD/TV, HUD's, Automatic climate controll and so on. Then there is the mechanical side of it as well, look at how quick the 33 GT-R was around the ring.
  11. Japanese sports cars do seem to be generally well ahead of the curve in terms of features.
  12. I always thought the old bike laws were stupid. 250cc two stroke sports bikes were legal for L's/P's in Qld for a long time, and they were just as quick as some of the 600cc 4 strokes.
  13. An early 90's car is now 20 years old, just saying.
  14. I was arguing this over in the wasteland. The police don't really have much choice. For every sensible driver with a legally modded import there are 10 douchebags driving like idiots in unsafe an illegaly modded cars. There are no doubt more shitbox falcadores and econoboxes but they don't stand out. Cars that stand out + large majority being driven poorly/illegally modded = police attention. Not much we can do about it
  15. Apparently the cops were out in force at Munchies Friday night. Targeting big meets makes me sad.
  16. Just realised that the starter of this thread was the same guy that claimed to be all buddy buddy with the 5-0 and was going to hunt down all the car thieves for us... Sure HE should know how the police treat import owners
  17. I'd be curious to fun out how much attention the classic scene gets from the police. Most classics I see tend to be in better shape than the average late 80's/90's sports car. We get attention not because of the cars we drive but because so many examples of the cars we love and drive are modified illegally or dangerously. It's a percentages game for the police, pull over ten Astra's and who knows how many could be pinged for defects. Pull over ten 33 GTS-T's? Chances are damn good that there is plenty that could be written up. I'd suggest that a good first step would be putting together a clear, simple to understand guide to common modifications and their legality. The new nationalized design rules that are coming in make it possible to have one copy for all of us. If this can be spread as far and as wide as possible we could at least start by fighting the defects that are getting people pinged due to ignorance. Not sure there is much that can be done to prevent people knowingly breaking the law however...
  18. Could explain why I won't go searching for his stash, son of rajab knows what I might stumble upon!
  19. Oh this is just f**king brilliant. My housemate, who struggles to pay the rent and bills as is despite being paid better than I ever have, now has no job as the venue he DJ's at just went into liquidation.
  20. I'm sure others will be there. I will be busy working. The joys of having a job once more.
  21. And then only if vtek just kicked in bro!
