    Insurance

Suncorp own (not a complete list either): Just Car Shannons AAMI Insure My Ride I know there are others as well. If you want to minimize hassles with theft claim ensure you have an Aus standards imobiliser fitted, apparently some of the company's have no hassle taking your money and refusing to pay out if there is no immobiliser fitted.
  3. Hope it was insured
  4. Agree 100%. They loose a days pay, may as well organise it so they work and get paid 75% and the other 25% goes to the family. Would be worth at least several months pay to the family. Much better way to show respect. When I was in my teens I worked for my dad as a sparky's apprentice. I had the weird position if seeing both the union and the employee sides of any dispute, made me dislike how unions operate, but I admire why they are trying to fight the good fight.
  5. R390? I think the only road going one ever built was blue...
  6. She was only second or third favorite for her third win, no one believed a horse could really go three in a row.
  7. Day off of work today and tomorrow makes me happy in my pants
  8. City cat is an even worse idea as the Queen is going to be on the river from 12-1 riding a city cat from Brett's wharf to southbank. As for being a bit quiet, working nothing but nights for nearly two months makes things a bit shit I hve this Thursday off of work so I'll be attending Chris's security event and ikes cream after. Been to long since I last was there.
  9. Queen is at Southbank today. I have been told to expect it to take me an hour to get to work between security, road closures and crowds. An hour. To get from Woolloongabba to Southbank. f**k that mess, I might just walk.
  10. I might go back to sleep No Thursday nights free for a while however got one off in three weeks however, and made sure I have the day off for the SCC.
  11. Not sure what the issue was Chris is sorting it out and will no doubt let me know. All I know is that there was a 2V power draw when the car was turned off. When we pulled the fuse for the GPS/Stero/LCD screen the draw disappeared. Power drain was killing my battery.
  12. I should be along for ikes cream tonight. Problem has been discovered and is currently being fixed.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised to see a spike in the birth rate for the next month or so. Nine months after the floods and all that. Only two things to do during mass blackouts when you can't go anywhere
  14. If you have mates who are keen they'd be more than welcome. Last event we had 2 Evo 8's, an SLK55 AMG, R32 Golf, Suzuki Swift Sport and a few other ring ins. We need to confirm numbers ASAP so post up confirmation in the thread in the qld section.
  15. For those unfamiliar with happy laps the event is designed to allow people to dip their toe in the water of track work in an relatively safe and enjoyable environment. There are no rules regarding safety equipment etc (helmets not required, wear what you want) but as this is the case and this is a FUN event not a serious one there are rules governing track behaviour. Passing is only allowed on the straights unless the car in front specifically waves you past, the car making the pass has the responsibility to do so safely and will be held accountable for anything that goes wrong. No dangerous driving or high risk stuff (don't dive under someone under brakes, no drifting, don't pass mid corner etc), speed is meant to be limited to "spirited" driving but who knows what that really means when you have R35's, E85 powered Evo's, built monsters like Sugar Daddy @500hp etc on track at the same time as almost stock daily driver R and V series Skylines. I was hitting around the 170kph mark at the kink at lakeside last time we did one of these to give you an idea of speed. Common sense is the rule of the day. It is a brilliant event and loads of fun and at $30 for non SAuQld members including breakfast is as cheap a track experience as you will ever find.
  16. Here's hoping mine never shits its self then if I can't get a replacement for the aftermarket screen. Oh well, if it does then I can just go for a MFD I guess.
  17. No mention of Kari from mythbusters in the list! For shame.
  18. Just buy sone stock rims. I've seen plenty of r33/s15 etc rims go for only a couple of hundred a pair. Drifters love them an there are plenty around if you go looking.
  19. The good photo spots on Mt Cootha aren't at the lookout but on the side of the road that goes up there. Few big open areas that can easily hold a lot of cars.
  20. My first week at ikes cream in a month and I'm the only one here
