  1. Hey guys, Its been bugging me for a while and managed to record the boost stutter on my gauge today (Defi). Anyhow, basically what happens is when you give it abit of a boot from off boost to on boost, if you do it gradually or in a higher gear, it stutters... It was evidant through the playback of the gauges, that the boost needle was vibrating at certain points and slowly reaching full boost. It didnt stutter all the way, just sometimes... Its kinda weird and bugging me, that maybe its just the bleed valve im running that came with the car, or possibly the actuator could be stuffed? Most noticeable it happens when going up hills and putting the gas on... Any ideas would be appreciated. Car type: s15 Mods: STD Jap spec BB turbo, FMIC, Pod, full exhaust, bleed valve boost controller, GFB Stealth fx BOV (set to plumback)
  2. ^^ Well thanks for your help, definately most appreciated... Now its time to find a diff hehe.. Thanks mate!
  3. Hey buddy, yeah, i wouldnt mind swapping if you want to do that. Are you located in sydney??? Is it a hard job to do, cause i never really pulled the diff out before, hehe... Im just running the std s15 ratio which is in manual, I believe its 3.7. I wouldnt mind trying a 4.3.... and testing that out for a while So basically its a straight swap, ie just take the diff out, take then open the casing up, swap the CW and pinion, put back together, and off you go? Is it as simple as that? From what I read, the s15 also has a sender from the diff for the speedo... how do i correct this so the speedo isnt out? Thanks for your help though, much appreciated
  4. Hey guys, Im looking to change the diff ratio in the s15 as im looking for abit more acceleration (too laggy). Im considering changing to the r33 diff, but not sure of the ratio??? Can anyone advise me what the ratio is? Also to run this in the car, do I take out the internals of the diff housing in the s15, and simply swap over with another r200 gearset (Pinion and wheel) ? Any help or info most appreciated, im sourcing a ratio of around 4.1 or 4.3 This ratio is to be used with the 6spd box
  5. Why you selling phone hey?? just curious
  6. I was in the same boat a few months back, tossing up between r34 or s15 I went the s15 simply cause they look dam sexy, less fuel than my line, but still has balls and a nissan badge. From use to owning a r33, there is definately differences you can tell: *s15 has abit more lag compared to the r33 setup, but then again my r33 was 211rwkw on the std turbo, and still need to PFC my s15... hehe. Some s15 such as the specr and jap specs come with the BB turbo. *S15 came std with ABS which is always a good thing, but the r34 does too *The s15 tends to have abit more in cabin rattles than the 33, but overall the s15 is still comfy inside *Less fuel with the s15, although mine is running pretty rich at the moment, still less fuel than the r33 *Dont have to lug around passangers that want to sit in the rear in the s15.. they look at the space and realise they rather take the bus haha... *The rear end of the s15 is dam light compared to a 33 or 34... so watch out when it gets wet, but the rear feels heaps more controllable than the 33 did... *Less spark plugs to purchase when im doing a plug change less hassle too as the piping going to the intake on the rb25 can be a hassle for plug changes *S15's have that annoying VCT rattle when you start up sometimes for about 20secs... sounds gay, but you learn to live with it.... Finally, ive attatched a pic of my s15 for reference and how low it sits
  7. hehe, only one way to find out.... my s15 sits dam low, i managed to put a nice crack in the bar, not really visible, but you can see the paint crack, all good My exhaust skimmed alot of that tarmac on friday
  8. that 34gtr is dam sexy!!! HEHE, Looks really clean still chris, hopefully no stonechips etc from tonight.... Cracked my front bar on the way out of stanwell, lol... ahh well, was gonna happen someday! Was great to meet some new faces such as wraith skyline & omar in the other GTR. 13. Looks like ill be attending... I used to have a skyline, but I now have an S15 Its got a nissan badge anyhow
  14. Ok, got it all sorted... I put the new rims on on the weekend (2nd hand jap forged wheels) and still got the shaking. Went to a different tyre shop, and they said that the balance was out.... Rebalance of the wheels and it fixed the problem. All good I believe it could be the tyres on the other rims putting the steering wheel shaking?? They are falken ziex... I believe they are pretty crap from what i heard?
  15. Now have a pair of stock rims for sale aswell. Tyres are approx 30% tread: $150
  16. Most appreciate your input there electro. I went to a different suspension place today, and he said its definately a problem with the wheels or flat spots on the rubbers, as he said the suspesnsion had literally nothing to do with the shake at a certain speed. Ill be getting some proper jap rims this weekend, and ill see how i go, cause these ones will have decent jap rubber, where as the ones i have at hte moment, both sets of rims ran the falken ziex rubber, which in my opinoin is pretty crap now! lol... But im hoping that the vibration will go away by testing these new wheels, if not, time to get some locators
  17. Thanks everyone for the input, its been very helpful indeed... Im gonna get the wheel alignment done tomorrow or on friday, and also getting a set of forged wheels on saturday... If this doesnt fix it, then im going for the plastic locaters aswell!!! As for the "ROTOR" theory, i put new rotors in it late yesterday evening, and they dont make a difference to the shake over 100kph, however they dramatically helped where i used to get brake shudder! NO MORE BRAKE SHUDDER I ended up buying RDA slotted rotors, and they work very well. For $240 for the pair, cant go wrong!

  19. Thats cheap as!!! Whoever buys the turbo is getting a nice buy! Definately no shaft play as ive also checked this turbo out...
  20. Ive tried 2 sets of wheels, im pretty sure they arent egged plus i did get one set checked out which is in great condition, ie no warps or buckles... Ill be getting new rims this week, and also wheel alignment and new rotors, so we should hopefully sought it out 90% Says the wheel alignment will fix it up according to ECS...
  21. Thanks for your help guys, im getting the alignment done on thursday or friday this week, and hoping to solve the problem Just put new rotors on tonight and yet to be tested, but hopefully the problems go away. I went to East Coast suspension today and they reckon the wheel alignment should ease out the shaking
  22. Hey guys, just trying to figure out what my steering wheel shake is. It only shakes over 100kph, and is very annoying! Under that, no dramas. I used to have a set of 18's on the car, but took them off cause of the shake, and put stockies on. The stockies dont shake as bad as the 18's though. However the guy at a wheel shop claimed the re-treads on the 18's were the cause of the shaking, since the wheels were quite balanced after checking them? Anyhow, i got the stockies on now, shaking is minimal compared to the 18's but still there. Ive checked the castor bushes and they are quite new and not split. I also get alot of shudder when braking, which im pretty sure is the rotors that im changing this week. I think possibly it could be the wheel locaters? Since I dont have any on the car, could it be those making the car feel shaky over 100kph? Ill be testing a 3rd set of wheels this week, but i have a feeling its not the wheel problem, something else in the suspension. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
  23. Hey guys, I got some rims that came with my car that i dont like! So they are up for sale as i want some jap rims. They fitted perfectly on my s15 no dramas. Only slight slight guttering but only noticeable if you look really closely on one wheel. All other rims are perfect condition and basically like new! Anhow the size isnt impritned nor is it stickerd on the wheel, so i grabbed the measuring tape and there 18x8 all the way round. The rubber all the way round is 225/40/18. Back 2 are worn and definately need replacing, the front 2 have abit of neg camber wear but thats all. The outsides of the fronts are fine PRICE: $800 Location: Sydney Contact: Jason 0423 324 906 / PM / [email protected]
  24. Bump, parts still for sale, make offers if you dont like the prices
