Thanks heaps for the info guys, I really appreciate the time that you take in answering my queries about the alarm. Im going ahead with the alarm fitment as soon as the car comes back from compliance Will be taking advantage of the Brant sale, and getting the tilt sensor fitted, aswell as the motor in drivers door for central locking. Like you said bambinator, just try to park where tilt-trays cant get to the car, ie multi storey car parks with low clearence.. Thanks heaps again guys, much appreciated

Mr_G replied to the_consumernator's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Damn, that was a good price, what year model and was it manual ? As for bodykits on the 180, I say go for the BN kit, which kinda looks phat! You should log onto www.nissansilvia.com because they always have alot of 180's for sale, the guy on this forum selling his has the BN kit (Druzilla32)... -

You should be able to pick up a 95 for 25k easily. I just brought one in from Japan, and all up including insurance, comes to about $17,800 and I have a 95 series 1.5 GTST. Im also pretty young as you can see, however I learnt to drive on an older car before purchasing the Skyline as it really doesnt matter if you bang it here or there, where as if you did it in your line, you probably get really annoyed!! Im only using 3rd party property as I dont really want to fork out so much just for insurance. The only thing im really worried about, is theft of the skyline, so thats why im spending big on the security part of the car, because its a one off payment. Go for something that will get you a-b that you can learn and build your skills up on, and in the mean time, save your $$ for your Skyline, thats what I did and no loans involved so no interest BTW, im pretty sure Justcar dont do fire & theft for N.S.W -
Thanks for the response guys, seems like a pretty good alarm to go for in that case. I will also be using lock nuts and will be getting the tilt sensor, as Brant have a sale on at the moment. Just wondering jlnewton & sewid, do you use your lines as a daily driver? No harms parking in shopping centres or on the street? Just curious as mine will probably become my daily driver and will be parked at shopping centers with multi level car parking, and sometimes on the street. Cheers

pentae: nothings wrong with your alarm, im open to suggestions and thoughts on what sought of alarms to use, however im leaning more towards the brant mainly due to the keypad start and 6 point imobolisation. I just wanted some feedback on this alarm, and what peoples thoughts were, especially from current users of this system. I just dont want to have to come back to an empty parking spot. Also wondering for those Nemesis owners, may seem like stupid question for a $1k alarm, but it does have back up battery right? Cant find anything that states that on Brants website, but you guys can probably back it up. Cheers
-
My car wont keep up either, however if its heavy traffic, i stand a chance
-
Ah that sucks to have your ride stolen by some fool! Ill keep a look out and even PERSUE if i see this vehicle... Did the car have any alarm or imoboliser fitted? Cheers, hope you find it...

Hmmm, sounds like a very decent alarm system. It will be getting fitted to a GTST so i guess that sorta helps out abit since you guys have GTR'S and using the same system. Also was wondering how loud the sirens are, both internal and external? Is internal actually louder than external? Do you guys also run other forms of deterants on your cars other than the Nemesis such as steering wheel locks, or even wheel clamps? Just wondering bambinator: What sort of extras can they put in the alarm? Just kill switches etc? Dont worry jlnewton, im pretty paranoid too about parking this thing!!! The car will be parked in a westfield shopping center which is a multi story car park, I doubt tilt trays can get into these things as most of them have a height limit of 2m

Thanks dude, however still wondering bout the speakers, they look like some high quality stuff. I didnt know they were coming with the car, so its like a bargain

Hey guys, picked up my car from the Wharf today, and realised it came with some fancy Kenwood rear speakers. To my knowledge, they are a 3-way set up, with bass, mid and tweeter. Just wondering does anyone have them? If so do they sound any good? Im guessing they will, due to being 3 ways. Also if anyone has specs on those, it will be much appreciated. Cheers

No mention of transmission type (Auto) ?

Hey mate, I have a set of Focal 3 way Polyglass Car Splits connected to a 5.1 amp in my room, and has AWESOME SOUND. These are my mains and you really do get quality. Since I have the 3 ways, the woofer is only 6.5" and theres 2 of them. The power their receiving is 100w RMS, but you can get some pretty tight and clear bass out of them, sometimes doubting me on whether I should connect a woofer to the system... A few ideas you could consider, is to get a small 10inch kicker solobarick. Has enough bass due to the square technology, and you just need a sufficient amp to power it. I think you can pick up a Jaycar 400wRMS one for around $300 from what someone was telling me, which should be plenty. For speakers, I reckon give the Focals a go, pretty good stuff. I also like MB quarts as they sound pretty clear and crisp. Try get a seperate amplifier to power these such as a nice 4ch and the speakers will sound better than off the deck. As for the deck, Im in the process of looking for a screen with DVD, and thats quite a good price on the deck so go for it Cheers

Help me please on buying a import.
Mr_G replied to skyline sean's topic in General Automotive Discussion
If you can do it yourself, and you got someone to lend you stock everything, would be cheaper but more time consuming. Going through shops will just incurr a certain cost... -
L7's are silver, L5's are black.... Just some info Some other people on here could be curious on what Ohms the coils are.. 2's or 4's ?

Workshop is actually looking for standard rims to compliance R33's so they asked me if I wanted to trade it off for unbolting the mods, replacing them with factory items, then rebolting them on after compliance. Im pretty sure the workshops will use the same standard parts over and over for compliance at a cost, however mine just costs the set of wheels which I were really only going to sell anyhow...
