  1. Funkymonkey: Basically its like a steping stone, you pay each step of the way. ie when car lands in Aus, you pay for shipping, customs agent etc.... So since my car hasnt landed and got cleared, I havent payed for shipping and all the rest yet, just payed Geoff his fee, compliance downpayment, car cost and postage for my Head deck & shifter. Car can be de & re gassed in Aus, if the compliance company has a permit to do so. I suppose you can get it done in Japan, but at your own expense. My compliance fee includes the de & re gassing of the air con. You do pay Geoff his fee all up, well I did anyway, I never considered 50/50 but hey, doesnt harm to ask... Bepo: As for the mods, basically you have to replace them with stockos like you were saying. Ill be getting everything replaced down to stock from a work shop, well apart from the window tinting but i think window tints are ok. After compliance, gonna get my car back to the way it was... Hope that helps
  2. Pretty much the 490,000 is FOB and all that you stated, however the de-gassing and regassing is actually getting done by my compliance shop, as they have a liscence to do so. And on top of the 490,000 I pay Geoff $1,100 AUD.
  3. Already mentioned in the "Car Audio" section of the forum, but can someone do me a favour and measure the boot depth of their R33 as in the Height?? My car is currently on a boat so cant really measure at the moment, and I have alot of free time coming up so want to make my enclosure whilst there is time. Just need some limitations for height in building my enclosure for my R33. Cheers

  5. Im currently going through Prestige in importing my 95 model R33. I actually looked at prestige for quite sometime, and its good to also be on the email list with Geoff, as you can keep track of whats available. You do save abit, depending what your car comes with and it also depends on the exchange rate. Cheers

  10. If your interested in getting a 32 with a RB25, you can probably source one out in Japan. My freind recently bought one through pretige and came with a trust TD-06 on top. Car gonna cost him about 10k and its auto, but he will convert it to mannual, so totalling around 12-13k for one quick ride! www.prestigemotorsport.com.au Cheers

  15. Hi guys, My car from Jap is coming shortly, and no its not this sil, but however, im curious what the "red tube looking thing" is mounted above the kick panel next to the door, on the passenger side of the vehicle in the interior ? http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=2032 Just curious cause theres a pic of the same red thing in the same spot, but on my 33 which is arriving soon and I so dont have an idea what on earth it is!!! 17. The feel of drifting, priceless....
  18. By law, they actually have to destroy these mods. However when you sit down and think about it, how many of them actually will destroy these parts if they have value and are resellable??? Easiest thing is to get the mods of the car before it goes into the workshop, and replace them with standard items, ie coolers, exhaust etc. The new rules are pretty strict, ie car cant be lowered, must not have tints etc. So therefore the car has to be stock as a rock! After compliance, sell of the stockies, and replace them with the mods. If your thinking about getting a R33 , you should have no problems finding standard parts as theres lots on the "For Sale" section of SAU Forums. Cheers
  19. Nice nice, good stuff. My sky gets shipped this friday from Jap to Bris, before getting sent to Syd. Just hoping it comes without any dings, cause it didnt have any to start with. HeHe...
  20. cLoWn, have you had much problems with your gear though? I suppose if you buy speakers, it should be ok, ie components, but guess you got to take your chances if you buy a deck/screen or amp.
  21. Hey, sounds alright J-Flash, have fun with your new ride, mines still in Japan waiting to get on the boat. Mine features 17" Volk challenge wheels, 3.5inch turbo back exhaust, standard rims, turbo timer, kenwood double din deck, m spec kit, and a few other bits n pieces. To me, first thing to buy for a skyline, other than insurance, is a PHAT ALARM! Should keep that in mind before you go modding the beast, hehe.
  22. Congrats mate, I think I know the one, its the one on trading post all the time aye? Looks like a sweet ride. Im also getting a white r33, but through Geoff @ Prestige, but the one im getting comes with a few mods. Just got to wait for it to arrive off tha boat, go through compliance and all that blah... HeHe.. Anywayz, how much did you end up paying for it? I know that one was advertised at $19,000, so just curious?
  23. HAHA, thats some funny posting. Thanks for the help guys, just anxious for the car to arrive. I was going to try the VIN trick, but since they all come with a LSD, no need to, ill just wait till it comes, and see if it has an active one..
  24. Hi guys, As you know, im awaiting my car to come from Japan. I was wondering if there is anyway to tell if it comes with a factory LSD? The car is a R33 GTST built in April 95. Any ideas? Cheers
