no it wont... unless like mentioned.. the old one was totally knackered. the pressure regulator regulates the pressure.. hence its name. the pump just pumps. i know its richer now.. i'm not saying its not.. but you've found a symptom not a cause.
-
tbh your numbers there are pretty much spot on. disconnecting the exhauist would have done bugger all. being a FI car back pressure isnt a biggy so it wouldnt lead to any kind of lag. my first run on the strip with... 33gts25t Stock turbo stuck cooler 3inch turbo back exhaust 14psi 245's pod stock ecu was 14.5 so your numbers are fine. As for the ecu, its a hard coded tune with no consideration taken into account for the current mods. So it will make good power under the right conditions, but it has no response programmed in for bad days eg excess heat, bad fuel etc etc the factory ecu, whilst not ideal for aus fuel, will retard timing in bad conditions... hence safer.

Approx Value Of A 34 Gtr
Messiah replied to Messiah's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
yeah searching for a black 350gt wasnt too easy for me a while ago, they existed, but werent as common as other colours (eg white) with the options i wanted. Good news is that with my 34... i want a white one (i'd be reeeaaaalllll happy with black... but i know it will proably cost me 5k more for the prviledge) -
i think some people are reading too much into this. I dont think this wsa a question about police effectiveness, but instead balancing the risk of reprisals against dealing with the issue using the means the government supplies. Now we've all had out mongrel HWP officer who singled us out for driving in an un-australian car, and i've personally had one or two street cops give me grief when i was young just due to my appearance. That said i've also had cops go out of their way to make sure me and mine were looked after after a break and enter. Cops rocked up at 3am when it happened to help secure the premises and search the surrounding area for the buggers, next day had two more cops rock up for a better look around and confirm details... then forensics.... then detectives, who decided there was more that forensics could have done so he called them back, then detectives came back the next day again to make sure everything was sorted and to see if anything else had popped up. then community services came to visit to make sure we were sorted long term. The cops arent the problem here, its generally the courts and the gov, and i believe the cops are probably just as frustrated about it as we are. Young offenders laws, rehabilitation possibilities, trading rehab for a suspended sentence, all of these "i'm sorry" things make all the hard work go to waste. Not only that but the gov and media are having a field day helping each other raise income by hyping the hoon issue. i think you'll find that at the end of the day the coppers would be far happier dealing with proper crims that inspecting your ride height, but i think they'd be happier still if they thought the charges they laid might actually count for something come sentencing. So give gdogzgtr a break eh.

R33, Stock, ~$2k To Spend.
Messiah replied to HtwCHACtkh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
IMHO dont do suspension until you have done your rims, otherwise you might fins what you want down the road no longer fits, fitting 18's can make the car look the part without needing to lower it. budget $3.5k for good jap rims tho. Or maybe less 2nd hand. Agreed that gauges are a waste until you really need them, you can even avoid a boost guage if running stock boost. Assuming you car is flawless externally heres my advice. Stock exhaust, but maybe ad a high flow cat. you havent wound up the boost at all so no need to add big piping. New ECU, why not just retune the current setup to make it a little more aggressive. Rims, as above. CAI as mentioned by someone else, not good to have an open pod. New suspension bushes: tighten up the existing setup and making it feel a little more lively. retrimming the interior isnt a bad move either, a tasteful leather seat trim will compliment a subtle skyline nicely. EBC: just to up things by a few psi and make the car nippier. Pick as many of the above as you can fit in the buget, or pick the pricier options you prefer. For $2k your not going to make any performance leaps and bounds worth making with any great sense of quality. Good coil overs are 3k starters, a good exhaust is at least 1.2k and is a waste if your not looking to improve performance is more ways than just the exhaust, so leave it until you do more. So if your eager to spend, do a nice little tidy up and some prep work. -
The best approach for this is easy, but will take balls. Get your boss to advise everyone at the office of the threats made and that the business intends to take the matter to the police. Ask if anyone objects to this coarse of action and offer an alternate working arrangement to those that do until the issue is all cleared up. Once done, push it as far as you can go with the law, respond to every reprisal with the full extent of the law. Dont back down, dont cower, dont compromise. My ex brother in law is a dumb ass thug, he keeps threatening my sis and has his mates follow her when she objects. she then backs down. and you know what. it never ends. Well it didnt until i told him that i'm watching him and if i catch a wiff of it again i'm delivering all the info i have to the cops, and that i or one of my family will do the same should there be any reprisal. He's on a suspended sentence atm, so all it takes is a phone call and he's back in the nick, probably the same for the guys near your work. Once the police know of not only the threat, but also the threat of reprisal should you go to the cops, if anything happens after the report the cops know where to look. This whole deal is riding on you guys not having the guts to call their bluff. Remember its a business thats reporting the issue, not just some hoon in a skyline, usual crap cop laws dont apply in the same way.

Approx Value Of A 34 Gtr
Messiah replied to Messiah's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
well if you read it you'll see i have looked around and compared prices. I'm primarily asking those who import them for a job what they have found to be a reasonable price for a reasonable quality car. I'm not asking what prices they are up for auction for.. as i can see that myself, but i cant see if that car is worth that price or what price it might go for in the end. -
What Oil Are You All Using In Your 35's
Messiah replied to Dan85's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
motul 300v... but i'm childish like that -
Hi All, I'm doing some research in prep for finding and buying a 34 GTR. I've had a look around a few places, both aus dealers and japan, at prices and specs and i'm having trouble getting an idea of a reasonable price. So far it seems to be something like standard gtr high 30's low 40's V-spec low 40's to mid 60's V-spec II and up 70's and up Now balancing bang for buck it looks like the vspec is the way to go. Now i saw a non-vspec here and the seller quoted 46ish but might go as low as 42 (eh!) and this had 60k on the clock and rashed rims. now i keep seeing vspecs on places like j-spec for the same money give or take a little, but i cant gauge quality too easily. So can anyone in the import business give me an idea of a reasonable price for a vspec in reasonable condition (km's and wear) and let me know how much colour can sway the price. I'm not looking to hold anyone to a price down the track, i just want to make sure i get the money i need together and then be able to ask one of you to find me the right car down the road and not ask you for impossible to find bargains. and just as an aside for those of you who have owned them, are the vspec(II)'s and up worth the extra coin or is it worth making a saving and skipping them?

Drop Down Banner Ads
Messiah replied to Messiah's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
yeah i could block them, but i like to leave all things enabled as far as SAU goes, i figure the ads are there to help raise cash for C to run the site and all, so i should avoid blocking them where possible. Cheers Nis, as i said, its more an annoyance than a crisis, extending the ad down to almost 3 times its original length seems a bit cheeky to me. It will be the ad company not a forum change (i have to deal with ad providers with work). -
Just been burnt again by the drop down banner adds that have started sprouting up. In inadvertently mouse over one when trying to use the top right menu options, the damn thing expands and clickawhammo!!! immediate annoyance ensues. I understand the need for third party advertising here, and i dont know what a viable fix is for this, but cane someone help me try and come up with one because they drive me insane. Maybe swap the sau banner to the right and the add to the left above the lesser used menu... or something

If he wont take the import route atleast swing him to the private purchase option, all of the strengths of the import option, yet inspect-able vehicles, and frequently a negotiable price.

Messiah replied to Messiah's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Price is negotiable, just no low balls please. -
i think this deserves a photographed strip down thread with forensic analysis when Paul gets it. I'd love to see how it all unfolds.

bah tell him to buy mine... its kinda from a dealer but yeah... been to both northshore and nagoya, both are a good lot. Been to top secret, they seem really helpful, it was a shame that the car i was looking at there turned out to have severe issues, but they refunded my deposit no questions asked. I cant vouch for any others, just stay away from some of the inner west dealers, you probably already know the name but if not pm me.

Fujita Short Ram Intake On My V
Messiah replied to Geoff0110's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
guys, with either of these is 3/36 of 1/4 of fck all in power difference. in regards to cold air partition, use one as hot air will send you backwards. in regards to "ram air" effect. bugger all really, there is no big bell mouth, no massive air guides. Just a relatively free breathing air box. in regards to changes in low down/midrange power, with a stock pre filter intake and being an NA the only bit that really matters is between the throttle body and the valves, so just the runners, these havent changed so bugger all there. as for tube design... again, not much in it, but a smooth pipe will give a slightly nicer flow. So if you want to make a difference (but it will only be tiny). grab the fujita pipe and a pod, build a cold air partition to totally seal the pod and intake from the engine call it a day. Unless you plan to radically change the snorkel design INTO the partition your not going to see a huge difference either way. -
Realistic Prices For V35's At The Moment?
Messiah replied to sputnik73's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hahah yeah that you do, the good part about that is that you can also vouch for the k's. Just hit 35k km on the weekend, i'm pondering the possibilities of selling it and moving to a 370gt as they seem to be coming down in price, thought it might be an idea to sell up and do it now before the v35 350's drop too much. -
Realistic Prices For V35's At The Moment?
Messiah replied to sputnik73's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Speaking of v35 prices, i have an 06 series 3 premium triptronic with a real 30k on the clock. Immaculate paint/body/insides. Anyone care to ball park me a figure of what its worth, i know i could check j-spec etc, but 06 series 3's seem damn rare on there. -
PENIS...... we got it.... you want it you know its true
