  1. major floors? drivers footwell, passenger footwells, back seat footwell... boot. but more seriously, good cars, bit front heavy, nice engine smooth power delivery. if your looking at performance, you can see that power to weight is worse, as for torque, silvia approx 0.175nm per kg, skyline 0.19 so not alot in it.
  2. Cheers mate, one thing to note is that i dont live in the south west, i'm right on the coast, these guys roam FROM the SW to all sorts of places looking for places to knock over.
  3. Hi all, My home in sylvania was broken into on wednesday morning. Luckily the thieves were interrupted, but not before they did a runner with a ps3, some phones and a set of car keys. They were chased out of the place and we got a clear look at the get away car and plates (blue 3 series bmw with dark tint and big rims rego JQR **1 possibly JQR *01) but it later turned out this car was stolen a week ago. Good news is that the keys were laser coded merc keys and they were updated the following morning, the bad news is i had to replace all the locks buy a new ps3 and have to start the games all over again The po-po believe they are from "gangs" operating in sydney's south west who will go out and target areas all around sydney. general opinion is that they were looking for a replacement car and thought they hit the jackpot when they saw 2 skylines and a nice merc out the front (please note i'm not bragging... the merc aint mine). They break in specifically when people are home so they can grab the keys, wallets and any other valuables left lying around. They got in by lifting a slider door off its latch, so if anyone else has a sliding for without a bolt, sort this out with a bolt deep into the floor or ceiling as its a sinch to get in even if its "locked". So just a gentle reminder all, dont leave your keys, wallets and valuables lying around, even in your own home, take them with you when you go to bed and save yourself what could be a very big headache. If anyone has spotted a car fitting the description above over the past week or so, let me know.
  4. just added sau to the cacti instance at work and set it to graph http and tcp response times.... i'll send you some results tomorrow if you like. ***scratch that**** looks like i have proxy issues and cant get cacti to reach it... might take me a day to fix it.
  5. how about an air filter, you know... those things designed to filter air thats going into an engine. If you dont like that idea, sand is pretty good at filtering crap out of liquids, and oxygen, when compressed enough is a liquid so pour some sand in there. It'll work great.... I promise
  6. Cheers for that, helped a lot. I mainly get miffed as every time i find a bit of a bargain clutch wise it tends to be pull type, which it appears is not me. oh well stocker clutch it is then. Thanks again all.
  7. Hey all, i know i can search for this, and to be honest i have, but its getting late, my brains turning to mush and i'm getting things arse end up. I have an s1 33 gtst everytime i look around and see a bargain cluch going its for a later model. i know there i can convert, the question is whats the best way and what will it cost. Ok i've see the os giken pull push converter (or was that push pull.. bugger) goes for about 300-500 depending on where u look. is there anything cheaper than this. And can someone set me straight once and for all on which way around i'm going... it would be push to pull right???
  8. I'll take some pics over the weekend, but in the meantime i'll give a general description. Cars in complete working condition, needs a new clutch as the original factory one is old and slipping. Exhaust is too noisy, and the head lights wont adjust. No dents on the car other than a pin dent of the drivers C panel (stone thrown up from someones lawn mower) but there is some paint work required on the front quarter panel and rear bar. Shocks are dead but i have some newish kyb's in a box ready to go on. Not rego'd and needs all the slips done, last mechanic i took it to wanted me to find what mods it was approved with when it was first imported and he wanted me to look into the rims and exhaust before he'd slip it
  9. Hi all, Been spending some time umming and arring about that to do with my 33gtst. it needs some tlc to go back on the road and i dont know if, when all things are considered, its worth the cost. If i dont put it back on the road i might aswell sell it, and if i do that, i'm not going to make much selling it as is (the buyer would just end up in the same situation as i am). So i'm wondering, for those of you who have parted out whole cars, how long did it take and was it worth the money you made? I dont want to end up with a carcass of a skyline sat on my lawn for the next 6 months so i dont know if its a good call or not.
  10. some import dealerships do. like Nagoya. That said, D'mitry of nagoya has told me himself that most people will get a better deal out of a private sale then using the proceeds to buy the new import. understanably thats less convenient for some.
  11. edit out the workshop name for starters. Read the rules, its not allowed. But more constructively. No, no need for a new ECU. Those mods are minimal. Have you reset the factory ECU? (i tihnk its a case of disconnect the battery and hold the brake pedal down for 30 secs or so). It might need to relearn a thing or two. If that doesnt do it, take it to another workshop.
  12. He's right, a lack of backpressure on an NA exhaust IS a problem. NA's use exhaust tuning to help with the scavenging of gasses from the engine and rely on a certain ammount of back pressure to perform. Too big an exhaust on an NA car can ruin this affect. FI cars do not have this problem (other than tt supras where a high flowing exhaust can cause fgasses to bypass the waste gate).
  13. tow hook! just hook the prams to the tow hook and you get to drive whatever you like
  14. Hmmm.... most turbo timers i know of are configured swo if the ignition is off, and the handbrake is off, the TT should shut down and with it the car. If it didnt shut down when you turned off the key with the HB down, check the wiring too. Sorry to hear about the prob mate, i once did the same but was parked in the garage... fortunately i just jolted tapped the wall and i'd stopped it.... still messed the bu,per up tho
  15. To anyone else thats reading this. I was a bit suspicious that the post didnt come from unigroup or list them as a contact. I called unigroup this morning to confirm that this is legit and i have been advised that it is.
  16. I got a personal loan for 30k for my v35. that said i'm 31 been employed for years and earn good money (more than 70k), so it didnt phase me or the bank. 800 per month in repayments over 5 years. i did 25k about 6 years ago to buy myself a 33 when i was on 40kish
  17. Cheers mate... small but mighty significant detail there.
  18. I've been organising a photoshoot cruise from palmie to the city that has seen a fair bit on interest. The firm date is now March 13th. As i can only take pics of so many cars myself i'm looking to see if anyone else handy with a camera whats to come along, take pics and enjoy the drive. This could be a great chance to show off, build up the portfolio's and put smiles on the faces of any sauers who attend to get pics taken. I'm looking to cruise from and through a whole range of nice locations from beaches at sunset to city at night and along open roads. Its a chance to try new tricks, get a little practice and just have some fun. see http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ph...mi-t308424.html For full details Any and all feed back welcome.
  19. Final date decided and posted. March 13th. see http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ph...mi-t308424.html for details
  20. Hi all, this seemed to generate a good amount of interest but my scheduling was off so here is the official set in stone invitation. What? Photoshoot cruise - Come along for a cruise and get some free pics out of it aswell. For the photographers out there, come along and show the world your skills and creative edge. Anyone else, just come along for a drive. When? Sat March 13th mid-late arvo, exact time tbc Where? Official starting point will be the car park at the end of Ocean Road Palm Beach, but people might want to cruise up together. Where to? The exact destination is yet to be confirmed. but in the vicinity of the city without being in defectville. But the main plan is somewhere under lights with a bit of atmosphere, rocks would be nice, but see the defectville concern. i'd appreciate input on this. Via? TBC aswell, i'm looking at taking the route with the best photo op's along the way, both mobile (for the blurred background and spinning wheels look) and stationary. Drivers - There are only so many cars that one photographer can cover with any amount of quality, so be aware that its a case of first in best dressed. I'll be looking at covering about 10 cars personally, anything more than that is going to depend on how many more photographers come along. Photographers - Come along and show your stuff while helping your fellow sauers out. Take some pics, give some advice... come for a drive. Anyone interested post below, if your interested in taking pics, let me know via PM aswell. I'll update the post with any photographers who care coming so we can keep everyone has an idea of how much attention they can personally expect.
  21. Ok... final update... i'm putting this up for the 13th or march... i've checked events and cant see anything (we need a calendar or something) and there is plenty of notice. Apologies to all who might have something else planned then, i figured its a lesser evil to postpone a week rather than run it on the same day as another event. I'll write this up in the events section now.
  22. Crap theirs a dyno day on the 6th?? god i have bad timing. i'll be back with a final update after i;ve checked the events section....
  23. Arrggghh looks like there was a spike of interest just as i had bad news to deliver. Ok turns out i cant do this weekend afterall... family commitments i didnt remember/know about at the time. So i'll have to bail on this one. That said i'm still keen. I noticed a number of you said you werent available for a week or two, so with this in mind i'm thinking of postponing this by 2 weeks to 6th of march, so everyone has lots of notice and has a chance to sort out any loose ends they want. Apologies again to everyone who got revved up for this. If people arent ticked off too much by my late minute change, let me know your happy to reschedule and i'll update the title and post it in the events forum and hype it. I think that with the number of possible photographers who seem interested in coming along it might be worth me keeping track of how many and we can let people know how many cars we can really take pics of.
