  1. This might be a stoopid question, but one of those dumps looks a little funny, almost like it has an inner metal "skin". If you look at the shot which shows almost the full length of the cams you can see down the exhaust end of one of the dumps, and the3re is a shiny metal ring that looks seperate to the flange, is that actually the case and if so why?
  2. Maybe i should rename this to "The SAU myth busters" thread
  3. Maybe i should rename this to "The SAU myth busters" thread
  4. i thought a cat would smell like fish not eggs *baboom ching!*
  5. i'm still waiting for some knob to suggest "Rally Bred"
  6. how can a scale that starts at 1 and goes to 14 be a percentage? Nah just to clarify pH, when a fluid is "ionized" it breaks off into negative and positive Ions. Water produces roughly equal ammounts of neg/pos ions and hence is neutral. Things like HCL (Hydrochloric acid) give out more positive ions than negative.... or was that the other way around.... but due to this its an acid but u get the drift.
  7. DE, DET DETT etc etc we all know about. and no... rb does not stand for "Race Bred"!!!!!
  8. pH? why that stands for pH = -log10[H+] which is the "hydrogen ion exponent" and the designation PH for the numerical value of the exponents of this power. [H+] indicates the activity of H+ ions (also written [H3O+], the equivalent hydronium ions), measured in moles per litre (also known as molarity). why do u ask?
  9. good job i dont get any work done in newy... nice work on that pwr figure btw

  12. cheers funky..... well the good news is that the FJ and CA thing doesnt go totally against what i've said.... but instead just throws any hope of consistency to use as a lead... bugger I hope you threw something heavy at him do we have any other takers with theories on these that ARENT "Race Bred" or related.
  13. oh and i use NGK iridiums, gapped to .8mm
  14. stovk gauge reads in mm's of Hg (mercury) same unit as used for blood pressure i beleive. Yes! get a after market boost guage, the stocker is useless as you have to convert the reading to something normal ppl understand. Also keep in mind that at around 10psi IIRC (could be 12) you'll hit factory fuel cut if running a stock ecu. My recommendation for anyone looking to up the boost of a stocker is to wait until you have your induction zorst and ECU done. these cause the boost to creep up a few psi with just them present, and they will also cope better with the increased boost, stopping you from getting a blood nose on your steering wheel after you hit fuel cut the first time.
  15. He just likes puttings his balls on a hot grille. Nah CRD are meant to be pretty "premium" as far as tuners go, but some argue the price they pay for it is a little rich. All in all its horses for coarses. I got mine tuned a UAS got 190rwkw at about 11psi with only a PFC Eboost 3inch turbo back zorst inc dump and a pod, all else is stock. I'm happy with the tune so what i payed (about 500 for the tune plus a little for some needed replacement bits and labour) seems reasonable to me. That said CRD have alot of credability as far as ability goes, so where as a tune may be a tune and therefore not worth the extra cash, their reputation might be. I beleive most ppl who went to CRD would say "it cost me a bomb, but it was tuned by the best so i'm happy", ok maybe a minority might say "i had to sell my wife and kids into slavery to afford it, but hey its tuned by the best and the house is so peaceful with the wife and kids gone, i'm happy".
  16. Ok now i havnt trolled through a search to see if anyone else has suggested this yet, but i do remember a lot of people asking about this. I was thinking about the nissan engine naming system the other night while a tad bored and this is what i've come up with, if anyone knows better please correct me. Now as we all know the SR is a 4 cylinder alloy block, and the RB is an Iron 6. Now the japanese word for "4" is "Si" and the jap for 6 is "Roku", to me this is a pretty obvious pointer. SR must mean "4 - somethingorother" and RB "6 - somethingelse". Now can anyone tell me if there is a japanese word for Alloy or aluminium that begins with an R or a word for iron that starts with a B? Any takers?
  17. w00t... its all on.

  20. I really should finish the cruise database i'm making. I think it would make all our lives easier, just think of it.... a db where u can search by destination.... hightlights or even road condition and it supplies u with a list of possible options and a map when u select one. Well enough of me pulling my own chain.... this all sounds great... keep me updated.
