  3. Arrgghhh ya nit picking skirvy dog..... dont ye be warning the most feared, the most loved, the most cheese encrusted pirate that ever sailed the seven seas, i'll send ye straight to davie jones locker.... or me back seat you decide. Now as i was sayin, before i was rudely interupted, i be arriving to port late this week and the winds just arent filling me sails like they did in the days of yore... so i'll be having to pass. better?
  4. well my rides back in cruise condition.... so i wanna come too.... but i only finish at 10 and fuels running low.... i think i'll have to pass
  5. You know the age old reply of "how many extra Kw's did he make with those stickers?? 20 ?50? 100???" comes to mind. Good job i'm not lame enough to actually post it.
  6. Heh spotted liz at the ranch last night nice bum u got there.
  7. Ok i've been granny shifting for the past 2 weeks now for a few reasons which i wont go into cos they are boring... One thing i can definately say is that its done wonders for my shifting in general. They are now far more crisp and precise, something that i hope will carry over when i gp back to driving normally. Now when i say granny shift i mean shift early, at 3 grand and staying off boost as much as possible. I've found that by forcing myself to change like this with such low revs has made me rethink when and how i shift. Everything is currently slower but my technique has improved imeasurably. Everyone try it on your way home today, shift at 3 grand no later, keep boost below 0psi at all times. If your anything like me you'll find yourself reading corners and shifts in a very different manner.
  8. T'wasnt i! i'm giving the line a little rest on the weekends until it gets tuned.... its no fun i swear. and check yr PM's.
  9. Spotted a purple 33 gtr (could have been a GTST) in a bad way before david road along newline rd. was hanging over into the gutter with the front end shortened. Didnt get chance to get the plates Anyone feel like claiming it?
  10. Bah i hate waiting when i hve a new toy.... but i guess i'll have to.... As for the PFC. Got it from nengun about a week ago... Cost me 1118 with hand controller in total including shipping. took about 5 days from order to delivery. Very cute little unit, with a bloody useless instruction manual unless you can read jap kana. Install takes about 20 mins and only requires a number 10 spanner (although a socket is less tedious in places) and a philips head screw driver. Only real downside i can see is that the pfc doesnt sit flush in the factory ecu mount. The factory mount has 2 dimples (one on each rack) that sits flush with 2 depressions on the factory ECU. the PFC does not accomodate these. I left the top bracket off to allow the HC cable to be left plugged in but used the bottom bracket to rest the PFC on. It can still be wiggled a little but sits pretty snuggly and i used a little velcro tape to make sure it stays anchoured to the chassis. If i left anything out let me know
  11. Ok i have a little more info. Apparently the Apexi base map is ok as far as the fuel maps go but i have been informed that the timing is a little too aggressive..... so to rephrase my q.... whats the best way to retard this? make a change across the board or just from specific spots? if so how much of a change... 1 deg at a time or a few? anyone?
  12. I recently bought myself a PFC and it looks like it will be a week or 2 before i get the time and money to get it dyno'd and tuned for my cars mods and our fuel quality. Now i'd like to use the PFC asap but i'm concerned about the fact that its base maps, to the best of my knowledge, are for 100ron fuel and therefore may be a little too agressive. Can anyone tell me a way that i can account for this and "detune" the base map myself so that the PFC will run safely until i get it on the dyno. From what i've heard i probably want to pull some timing out and throw in a little more fuel, but as i'm still learning the tuning side of things i dont want to do ANYTHING without some good reliable advice. So to summerise, i'm not looking to tune for more power, just more reliabilty. Can anyone help?
  13. Stalking??? i dont know if i'd call sitting out side your house all night with a telephoto lense stalking..... but if it floats yr boat Spotted a white GTST in epping last night in the coles car park... didnt get the plates but it had a red sticker on the rear bar of some kind
  14. I was thinking it may have been but with the hat and shades i couldnt tell.... actually i couldnt tell even without the hat and shades.... Who would have thought.... the day after we both make note to stop each other.... we do. Can u let me know the detail about yr boot tho. did u do it or did u get it like that. If you did it or got it done can u tell me how/who?
  15. Heh i'm always getting the 2 mixed up.... last night i spent hours asking women wether 3.5 inch is really better than 3 inch..... they kept giggling at me.
  16. Spotted a White S1 gtst heading towards the gorge from hornsby.... I was going from the gorge towards hornsby. dont know who it was tho

  18. TAY!!!!!! now heres a person i miss spotting.... hows things babe? dont u still owe me dinner? . Thought i saw u at WSID last week... wasnt u tho.... almost as cute but not quite
  19. Ahhh that good ol trick..... i wanna see... i cant figure out how to do it with an s1 boot the entire skyline panel is transparent but the letters arent.... i'm gonna steal your boot liz.
  20. I'm in a gunmetal grey s1, no lights on my arse tho... whatever that means actually what does that mean??? does it make your shorts glow?
  21. Liz, I drive through hornsby everyday.... quite hiding and i'll spot you. Only if you spot me too tho.
  22. Ok, my slips are on their way. I got my scanner rigged up but my net connection went down... now i have them both up for once. Jimbo : i dont think i'm gonna make it this wednesday, it doesnt look like works going to let me out in time. plus i just installed the pfc and i want a chance to play with it and get it all dyno'd first.... but that said if u want me to drive your car .... As for queueing for runs.... I did noticed that i was getting approdx 1 run every 25-30 mins at the start and then i was getting about 1 run every 45 to an hour at the end.... but being my first night i cant comment on whether i tihnk its screwed up or not. One thing the current setup doesnt do is give you the feeling you can safely go spectate. i went straight back in the queue after each run because as each run ended the queue had grown and i had no idea if i would get another run if i waited. That said in hind sight i could have done my runs and then spectated until closing, but i wouldnt want to risk doing the reverse. Downside to running early is i miss out on the colder air. Anyone have an english PFC operation manual i could borrow?..... mines all in jap and i can only find an english installation manual.
  23. Cereal : Its an S1 94 GTST... gunmetal grey. All stock bar n Eboost. I have the slips at home, i've just been putting off dragging out the scanner.... i'll do them this weekend. Danny : Yep i'm just up past the bottle shop - my car is normally preceeded by a mass of paniced wildlife... mainly rabbits. And i'm trying to organise to go again this wednesday (2nd of the Mar). your welcome to join me. Silver : Glad u liked it
  24. Well i finally got around to taking the line down to WSID last wednesday and being my first time i thought i'd share the tail with you all and maybe mention a few things i've learnt they other newbies might not think of on their first trip. I arrived nice and early which turned out to be a very good idea as it made the whole scrutineering and pre-staging far quicker and i was out on the track within about 45 min of arriving. It also gave me chance to do my first run ever without a giant crowd to witness my every feckup. As it turns out this last caveat was uneeded as my first run pulled a 14.6, running stock everything and 10psi of boost. My reaction time was a blistering .7 seconds..... the envy of vegatables, coma patients and corpses from all around the world. As this run was also coupled with my first intentionally induced burn out i was feeling very productive at this time. With this initially encourageing time under my belt i rolled up my sleeves (well rolled down my sleeve really.... remember long sleeves are required) and set about setting a propper time.... i knew a flat 8 was waiting for me that night... willall racing has nothing on my stocker My next run was abit of a mystery. My R/T dropped to .2 putting my a little nearer to the world of people with a pulse but my ET stepped up to 15secs. Clearly someone had moved the finish line. After screaming at an official to move it forward a few meters (he knew i was onto him..... i could see the look on his face.... he just couldnt believe i had him all figured out). Back in the pits My friend P.D was there with some advice derived from his hard earnt experience. "You need more stickers and Neon mate" he muttered "Cant expect to do 8's without a shopping list down your door... oh... and open our bonnet your engine must be roasting under there". My next 2 runs were again mixed. I never got back under 15secs although my R/T stayed reasonable even if it doesnt effect my ET. I have to work on my changes tho... on both of my last 2 runs i missed a shift.... well i bounced off the H to be exact. Things i have learnt : 1. Its Really hard to put a helmet on inside a skyline. 2. Add a pair of scissors and some tape to your tool kit and take it with you. I usually carry a socket and spanner set with me.... unfortunately these are useless at fixing split hoses and other small things. A big thankyou to the tatoo'd skin head who was racing his wifes Ford GT for lending me his/her scissors. 3. Pop your bonnet after a run - it gets hot under there. 4. Take a tire pressure gauge with you 5. Take 2 cars - 1 to race and 1 to put your stuff in/tow you home if required. 6. Some racers have really good looking girlfriends. But to be serious for a second, it really was a fun night and i'd recommend it to anyone. The atmosphere is friendly and the rnge of cars very interesting. Also nothing beats flooring it without worrying about sirens and blue lights. Special thanks to P.D (Mx83toy) for giving me the post race assesment after each run. I hope to see some of you there next time. M
