  1. what if its a really high shelf? Japanese aren't historically all that tall... just sayin.....
  2. i'm happy to wait.. my cars not going anywhere in a hurry. So delivery spec'd for mid march??
  3. 32 as of a month or so ago... Is it pony tail and red convertible time yet?
  4. further to what i was just saying... this thread went down in flames... but its a good start... it has a customiser and some parts suppliers listed... we might be able to get something usable out of it. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/349128-altezza-lights/page__st__20
  5. with this in mind.... is there anyway i can pay for an alarm and ipod install for a v35 now so i can book in in advance for when you do head down this way?? (Finally cashed up again)
  6. there are some mobs in the states that do hid retrofits and i know of one specifically that has projectors especially for rhd cars. So this might not be dead but just needs a change of approach. i think first thing first is to agree on a design (for both s1 and s2) then we can approach someone to see if they can mass produce it. just got into the office so i'll be busy for a little while but i'll see what i can track down. For what its worth it might be worth while to track down a large number of used headlights with crap glass to be used as the basis of replacements.
  7. where in sydney? I'm also semi curious about this.. i'm kinda in the same boat... i've just been spending a fair bit of time returning some bits to stock but it still have some mods i dont want to bother changing.
  8. hows this coming along?? i'll be looking for a new set of headlights soon... i'm trying to hold out and see of these can come through in time.
  9. Thats ok.... we forgive you... just hurry up and organise the next group so i can get my order in
  10. so what happens after 2015?? do they just review it and re-approve it or is there a rule change on the horizon that will invalidate it?
  11. Simon Beckett/ Nissan Skyline R33 GTST/Black/5 mats with 'Skyline'/ Nissan Heelpad $135. right... so do i sort out payment now or do i wait for you to tell me??
  12. part it out ? i'll buy your headlights.
  13. place the bump at the apex/centre of the concave section. What you have here really is a hole on a slope, by placeing the speed bump in it your effectively filling in the middle of the whole. Assuming that there isnt too much space infront/behind the bump it will work fine. and it should be useful for both directions as it should add a nice pre hill lift to the front bar.
  14. so... to see if i can rescue the thread... Given that what i gather the op wanted was the housings (the projectors just happen to be a part of that) and given the fact that the reflectors are highbeam only and should be used when traffic is around anyway... anyone know what it would take to buy a set.. and swap the projectors with a JDM projector??
  15. rest at ease if your running a little more boost and have atrimmed up tune you will be making a little more power. As you are now aware more power was never in doubt, just the exact figures and level of safety. i beleive one way of testing the coils was to unscrew one and lift it from the valley slowly while turning it over. the measurement is basically how far the spark can jump before it no longer fires... That said i dont know the exact procedure, hopefully someone here can clarify, and i'm not sure what an acceptable distance is. Hopefully doing this test will let you guage just how arsed up you coils might be and will let you know if you need new ones now or later if at all. As for fmic's, put one into your upgrade plan and dont plan on relying on the smic long term, even with water squirters etc etc. things like the later require you to constantly maintain fluids for operation and water cooling is primarily effective when a vehicle is moving.. it doesnt as much when stationary. a larger cooling surface area will always do a better job long term. so throw a water squirter together on the cheap short term... but dont rely on it long term. all in all though it sounds like things are coming together. i think the only advice that really needs to be given is to modify your car with an aim ton enhance longevity, if you do this as your primary goal then normally small but noticeable power increases come with it without chasing big figures.
  16. Mrs decided to show me just why she's perfect and showered me with a few car parts for xmas to help me get my car back on the road (finding an exhaust wrapped up under the tree was kinda entertaining). Now my local mechanic is away for a few more weeks and i'm kinda impatient so i thought i might have a crack at a few things myself. I have the following sitting waiting to be installed braded brake lines braded clutch line kyb shocks with tein springs hks silent hi-power exhaust slightly improved but otherwise stock replacement clutch. Now i understand the clutch is not a trivial task, but how hard is it to install the rest? installing the lines should be straight forward, but i imagine i'd also need to make sure i properly bleed them etc etc (havent done that myself yet) and not sure what gotchas i'll run into with a clutch line. Also as far as an exhaust goes, should it just be a case of grab some rubber mounts and away we go? the mechanic is literally 500-1000 meters from where i live... if i get the old one off and cant hang the new on will driving sans cat back be a problem?? shocks etc, i have no idea about needed torque settings, do i need to go get myself a torque wrench and look up settings or just throw em on and tighten it up? now before you slag me down, i have no problems figuring out how to pull things off or how to put them back on again, but my main concern is doing it right and not cocking something up in an expensive or dangerous way. Any feed back is welcome. also anyone in/near the shire who likes front yard mechanical work is welcome to come earn themselves a case or two if they feel like it.
  17. Ok if revs arent flaring it is as suggested most likely an ignition issue. Are the coil packs the originals? Your right, 0.8mm is about what you'd gap your plugs at, that gapping can handle any boost you might put through a stock turbo with little issue. Now with that said you mentioned that your only running stock boost, so plug gapping shouldnt have a major impact yet. Despite your tuner checking to see how the coil packs look, they can be a bit knackered even if they're not cracked and old looking. Mine looked pretty good for their age but they didnt muster much grunt to make a good spark. So under heavy load from about 3-4k rpm it would miss and loose power. I ordered some split fires from japan and alls good. from the sounds of it, all you need to do is sort out this ignition issue, then wind the boost up to maybe 12 psi and give it a tune and dyno run. That should tell you what your car is capable of, then wind the boost back to 10 psi for day to day driving until you tgrab a few things to keep it all cool.
  18. Assuming all hardware is in good condition (fuel pump coils etc etc) a quality ecu + tune, exhaust+cat+intake and a stable 12 psi will net you 180ish from a previously stock rb25det. That said this retains the smic... so that power cannot be taken as always safe and stable as on hot days your gonna suffer. glad to see you have peice of mind now, its a good feeling... For further work... look at adding to the supporting components (coils fmic, tunable ecu etc etc) to ensure that any power can be made safely and reliably, then add power making components.
  19. saw both a velfire and an alphard in bali last week (was surprised to see them there), theuy really do seem like the ducks nuts of people movers... i kinda want one (but then again i want most cars.)
  20. for the monety you offer you wanted a high wuality worked 34 gtr?? given that a vspec 2 nur is still 80k+ from japan finding one with all the fruit for that price is not likely. the car mentioned above is only 50k more than a stockish vspec2 nur from japan... so its a bargain really. just to give you an idea... this one isnt even a nur... http://www.j-spec.com.au/dealer/2001-Nissa...II-4582225.html
  21. Doneski... enjoy... discuss. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wh...ps-t345915.html
  22. As mentioned this is a thread for us all to discuss the ins and outs of our cockpits (haw haw). I dont have a set up as of yet, but where as i know what wheel i'm getitng the just is still out on the mouting setup due to cost and space requirements,. Anyone care to offer their opinion/rating on the own setup, in terms of cost and usability but also in regards to space and storage requirements.
  23. heh cheers phil thats awesome. I'm looking for 2 x sump (i'm hoping that the v35 is the same as the r33 so i can get one for the mrs too) 1 x diff 1 x Gearbox 2 x Blackhole that ok?
