  1. This is pretty much where I stand. I eventually want to upgrade to a high flow turbo, injectors, cams, afm etc. But this most likely won't be happening until a sometime in the second half of next year. But I do have the PFC now so my question is; With the stock turbo and most stage 1 modifications (fmic, turboback exhaust, ebc, fuel pump, pod) is it worth spending the money to get a full PFC tune? Or should I just stick to the base map of the PFC and get it tuned when I fit all my other upgrades? Apart from the obvious power gains to be had from the tune am I going to see better fuel economy, driveability and mid-range torque etc. ? All experiences and opinions appreciated. Thanks Andy

  3. I'd take both pieces of advice and add both together - buy a R32 GTR. Otherwise figure out what you want from the car first then start buying appropiate parts. Otherwise I'd so something like this $1500 - PFC + Tune $2000 - Tein Super Street Coilovers $1000 - Whiteline goodies: swaybar, camber kit, castor kit etc. $1000 - Brakes: rotors, pads, fluid, cylinder stopper etc. $1000 - Injectors $300-400 - Z32 AFM Rest of the money use to choose the appropiate turbo setup. This doesn't include labour cost for all of the above so make sure you keep that into account as well.
  4. Adam would this be well suited for a 250rwkw GTT on a track day? Are the standard end tanks plastic or...? If this is straight bolt on for an R34 GTT I'll most likely take it.
  5. Cold start = over night. Warm = after cars been driven then turned off and back on again shortly after.
  6. Hey all, Have a small problem regarding the Bosch 040 pump since installed. On a cold start when I turn the key to reds/ignition the pump makes weird noises when priming. Instead of the usual buzzing/whirring it makes weird knock like noises, reminds me of my friends description of indigestion noises. It sounds like it works, stops, works, stops, works stop giving off a knocking noise. The noise however doesn't occur anymore after you've driven the car for abit i.e after its actually warmed up. Once the car is warmed up it'd make a normal priming noise of a constant buzzing for a few seconds then just stop. Any ideas of what this could be? I'm hoping direct feeding a 13.8v power source to the pump will solve this issue. Oh and when I installed the pump I warpped the pump in a rubber layer so it wouldn't make any noises, could this potentially be causing the problem or another problem? Thanks! Andy
  7. Paul, so will the PFC with a base map essentially be like the stock ECU? Can I drive around on it for a few weeks and give it the occasional hit to redline?
  8. Hey all, I've picked up a second hand PFC with an existing tune and I'm not sure whether or not to keep it. The previous owner had it tuned for pretty much the same mods as me (turbo back exhaust, 10psi, fmic) though apparently his pump was dying so I'm not sure if the tuner accomodated for a lazy pump. I don't plan on getting a tune anytime soon as I'm planning to change turbos and install a set of cams in the next few months, so my question is: 1. Should I keep the existing tune, chuck her on the dyno to see if the AFR's are ok and keep an eye on knock levels? 2. Or should I just run the car off the base map for the next couple of weeks? If I run the base map can I still fang the car around abit now and then? Thanks! Andy

  11. How long are you guys staying there for? I just found out that I have to take mum and niece to the airport for their 10:00pm flight. EDIT: Its actually a 10 o clock flight so I have to leave at like 8:30 which probably means I'm not going to get to come.

  13. Sydneykid, I changed from stock suspension to the coilovers at the current height now. Should I need to get an allignment because anythings out or just to check camber? Thanks Mitch, that will come in handy when I adjust the height. Thanks, Andy
  14. Hmm I'll probably wind up the front 5-10mm then. Speaking of which, I know I should get an allignment but is just to check camber? Or could I have possible upset the toe settings due to the different suspension geometry now?
  15. Sure am. Thanks guys, now just to find a set of C-spanners. Never adjusted height on coilovers before - do I change the height by the top spring platform thing?
  16. Hey all, Just fitted coilovers to my car and currently the ride height is 340mm front and rear. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the rear guards on the GTT is cut lower then the front? So should my ride height infact be something like 350mm front 340mm rear? Is it currently sitting at the wrong angle? Cheers, Andy
  17. I've recently run into this problem, it was indeed the coilpack not working but it was only half f*cked. The engine light couldn't come on but the coilpack would work/not work very quickly - this resulted in my car stuttering and missing all over the place. Might have to get a set of splitfires myself soon.
  18. I'll be in for this, will be good to get a base figure for the R34 before I start working on her.
  19. To me that sounds spot on mate, I'm personally expecting 175-185rwkw with turbo back, pod and 10psi. EDIT: Just read 1 bar, but even then I'd say its pretty spot on. After 12psi the stock R34 turbo apparently is just blowing hot air so I'd crank that down to 12psi max mate.

  21. Good stuff Joe, whens the turbo get in? And which one did you pick? I'm planning to get one for the R34 later on so would be interested to see the results you pull off.
  22. I ordered the DFA + Hand Controller + Cable. Shan is a good trader, the Jaycar groupbuys just take a while thats all.
  23. Shan this is all taking abit too long for me, would it be possible to get a refund? If not and when these come if anyone is interested for the kits at the exact same price let me know.
  24. Hi guys, just a quick question. Does anybody know how far in the injectors plug into the manifold, could you please hilight the spot using Paint or something. Thanks, Andy
