Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-4. Unsure of the year though. Read up on the differences between each model. EDIT: If it was an R32, it would be a turbocharged model since the GTS4's have an RB20DET in them I'm pretty sure.

P Platers Driving Turbos And V8's
JDM34 replied to Aussie_Delivered_R32_GTR's topic in New South Wales
Lol, there are so many P Platers here who act like heroes. I sure as hell wouldn't drive a restricted vehicle because it only takes one police officer to catch you, then you're out and you can't drive anywhere, or you have to at least drive like a grandma for the rest of your Ps. (Not sure if you lose your license or just a few demerit points for driving a restricted vehicle + a fine) Just follow the rules and drive an unrestricted vehicle, you'll be fine and you don't have to worry about every car being a police officer. It also helps to drive a few different cars as well so you get experience in a few different vehicles. For my P1 License, I mainly drove my parents 2004 Holden VY Commodore; sure it's a boat and handles like a piece of shit in corners but it's a good learning experience. Then I drove a 1991 Hyundai Excel... without power steering, big downgrade and you can definitely notice it. Kind of rotated between those two for a bit until I got my R34 GT and still rotate between these three cars when I can't be bothered driving my R34. (Now on my P2 License) VY Commodore - 235HP Hyundai Excel - 81HP Nissan Skyline R34 GT - 200HP I don't know about you but I'm happy driving these three until I get my unrestricted license, not that powerful but still reasonable to learn on (you're still learning on your Ps! ) Also, driven a VW Beatle, a Mazda 121, and a friends Lancer ES. Anyway, point is... you should get experience in a few different vehicles before you go to a turbocharged, supercharged or V8 powered vehicle. THEN by the time you get your unrestricted license, you will have enough experience to drive a turbocharged car. -
Really? Lol. On their website, it states that you have to be over 25. o_O

With Shannons, you have to be over 25 to get insurance with them. However, a little irrelevant since my car isn't a GT-T but I'm paying $1700 p/a on an agreed value of $13000 for my 2D R34 GT with NRMA and I'm 19, still on my P2 License with an $800 excess. If I forked out quite a buck for a GT-T (which I bet you did + all the stuff you've probably done to it ), I would definitely go for full comprehensive insurance, unless the car was just sitting in the garage all the time and hardly ever got driven. I don't want to come off as patronizing either, but full comprehensive is a must for any import since Skylines are a perfect target for theft, unless it's a POS you paid <$5000 for. Cheers.

Haha yeah, I'm pretty happy with it so far. Had it fully serviced a week after getting it. Only issue was with the rear wiper hose which leaks water when the rear wiper is in use. Haven't been bothered trying to get it fixed yet since I don't even use it. In regards to the Megalong Valley Cruise, I wish I could! I have work on that day. I'll definitely have to come along to one of the cruises though. Would love to see everyones Skylines.

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
JDM34 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey guys, I'm fairly new to this sort of stuff and I was just looking to find out some information in regards to wheel fitment for an R34 25GT Coupe. My car came with these 17" 6.5JJ wheels. I don't really want to go anything bigger than 17" but I want to get some wider wheels. What width could I go on the front and rear without having the wheels rub on the guards? Also, what offsets are best for an R34 25GT Coupe? Like, what range? -
Here's some pics of mine, wheels are definitely going to be replaced with something more orgasmic to the eye. The current wheels came with the car when I got it imported from Japan, not really my cup of tea.

This actually reminded me of seeing a Honda Civic with a bunch of racing stickers on his driver side door and he had a GT-R badge next to all of them as well. LOLOL!

Parts totaled to just under $6000 not including shipping, so I thought a better option would be to opt for a clean kit. By the way, anyone know what kit this is?

Fresh from Japan pics

Mine's fresh from compliance. -
Here's mine.

Thanks for the help guys. I got my Alarm and Immobilizer installed a couple of days ago and I just use the Steering Wheel Lock as more of a deterrent for the average punk kid. I'm also getting some window tint done tomorrow, 35% on the front passenger windows and 15% or 20% on all the other windows, minus the front windscreen obviously.

Reeaaaaaaaaaaaally considering an R34 GT-R conversion on my 25GT, with some 18' R34 GT-R Wheels. I just love the GT-R look, only way to go! 2 x R34 GT-R Front Guards 2 x R34 GT-R Rear Guards 2 x R34 GT-R Side Skirts 1 x R34 GT-R Front Bar 1 x R34 GT-R Rear Bar 1 x R34 GT-R Bonnet 1 x R34 GT-R Nose (the part between the front bar and the bonnet) Got in contact with a guy who is in the process of getting me a quote for all the genuine parts. Still kind of researching the conversion. Buying the parts, getting the parts painted to match my current factory KV2, getting the parts fitted and having the rear guards welded on since they're not a perfect fit, and then buying a set of R34 GT-R Wheels in good nick... it all equates to $$$! Will let you guys know if I'll even bother with it, depending on costs and such.

but what could you replace the lighter with?

Valvoline Durablend 10w40 is fine for an N/A RB25.

Hey guys, I just got my R34 GT and took it in for a service. My mechanic noticed when you turn the rear windscreen wiper on, it leaks water into the boot. We are thinking that the hose at the back has been snipped by accident. The thing is it only leaks when it's running (I never even use that wiper anyway) but is fine otherwise. I'm wondering... how would I actually be able to get to the little hose at the back there, and just fix it up so it doesn't leak when it's running? Wouldn't I have to remove the three screws at the back, then take the speakers out and work from there to get to the little hose? Cheers guys.

Sorry, it came up with an error when I posted the first one so I thought it didn't go through and I posted again. Disregard this comment.

Just had a full service done, and asked the Mechanic to put in Valvoline Semi-Synthetic 10w 40 Durablend. I'd say it's pretty good for an N/A Skyline.

Hey guys. Just recently got my R34 and I'm getting an Alarm System & Immobilizer installed some time next week (still got to make a booking). However, I have to drive the car between now and then so that means I won't have any protection except a Club Lock. (which I'm getting tomorrow) Is there anything else I can do in order to prevent the car from starting? Like, removing something really small and easy in the engine bay that is vital to starting the car, and then when I finish work... I can just put it back in. If you don't want to say here, PM me or something. It's just that it's my first Skyline and I don't want it to get stolen, lol. Cheers guys.

Interesting News Article
JDM34 replied to PSI-FED's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
My car actually came from the Port of Yokohama, and ported at Port Kembla a few weeks ago. So glad it came here before this. -
Compliance, How Long?
JDM34 replied to ishan's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
my car has been at the compliance workshop for a week now, and they've only just started working on it yesterday. so i'm hoping it'll be done within 3-4 weeks from now. -
It's probably been asked and answered already but reading through all 108 pages is crazy! Anyway, I was just wondering what the best oil for an N/A R34 25GT (with the NEO RB25DE engine) is? A lot of people have recommended different oils and I'm just not sure which one to go for. Thanks a lot.
