Guys, I took some shots of this crazy R33 I saw. It was Ford XR blue, it had BA XR6 headlight conversion, flared rear gaurds with the Farrari brake intakes, gull wing doors and to top it off an R34 rear light conversion. I'd love to post the pics up here but don't wont to piss the owner off. It was truely amazing. If anyone knows who drives this car can you let me know if it would be ok to post the pics? (no number plates of course)

Take it to Chasers Tuning on Dynon Road in Kensington. Call the manager Scott. His work Number is 0438668880 Jevan

All very interesting. In my particular case the company picks up the Fringe Benifit Tax (FBT) difference if we don't do enough km's which is very handy. Even if I am forced to buy new there are some decent Oz released cars available (example, evo 9, Sti) Ferni - You seem like the expert on this so thanks for all your replies. For everyone else its a point that you should raise with your employers as it is a viable and much less expensive way to purchase a car under certain conditions. Funnily enough I'm an Operations Accountant for Maccas still find it tricky!

Hi all, A bit of a tricky question that I hope some guys will be able to shed some light on for me. Does anyone use a novated/operating lease for imports? It’s a common practice at my work to use novated leases that breaks down as follows: A car is purchased through Fleet Australia on behalf of the employee. Repayments are then paid BEFORE tax for the period of the lease (say three years) At the end of the lease the car has a residual value of say 30% which the employee can pay to own the car outright. This can be profitable as most cars don’t drop below 30% residual after three years which means you can buy the car and sell it at a profit. The benefits of a novated lease are substantial for those of us earning in excess of $40,000-$50,000 are taxed almost half of each dollar for the top parts of our income. As the car payments come out 'pre-tax' our taxable incomes are therefore less. In simple terms $10,000 repayments in one year only cost the employee $5,400 in “take home income” Now the reason for my post. I want to novate lease an R34 GTT however my company will only allow us to buy new so I want to get my own novated lease and charge the costs back to the company so I can get my import. Does anyone do this already? If so which company are you novating through????

Does hot air continously pump out?? If so I had the same problem and you will find that there is a small switch behind the head unit/ash tray that has been disconnected. If this is disconnected you will get nothing but hot air pumping out.

I've had a few questions in PM's about this. The VIN check said its was build in 1992, the car is registered as a 1992 and the interior (other than the blue dash) is like a all the other 1992-93 skylines I have seen. Anyway as I said in an earlier post I have a firm buyer at $10,500 and he expects to have the funds available to me by next friday now. If anyone wants this car at this bargain price then speak now or pay 13-15k for another example with as many mods and faultless condition!!! -

Hey my old lady is a manager at AAMI and if you read your policies correctly you for any insurance comany in Australia there is a clause that exempts them from any liability if you are not legally allowed to drive your car. Example. Your an 18 year old kid, you buy a GTR, you can register it, you call the insurance comapny they will insure you you crash it they can fight you in court not to pay a cent. When you sign the contract the emphesis in on YOU to ensure that you are legally allowed to drive the car. The insurance company will F*ck you over later if it suits them because if you read most contracts in detail there is a section that states something like "I agree that under the vic roads act 1998 that I am elegible to drive such a car as stated under my policy dated blah blah blah..." If you total the car they may investigate and say "Hang on you said you are legally allowed to drive this high performance car when the law says your not" "Your claim for the BMW M5 you cleaned up and all damages to your own vehicle has been declined...sorry" The reason they don't tell you this over the phone is that they would potentially lose heaps of business and in 99% of cases they will not get a claim and the few that they reject you probably never hear about. WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS PERFECTLY LEGAL... However ethically questionable.

I had a buyer last month but he said he couldn't get insurance cheap enough and his parents wouldn't let him get it without full comp insurance. Then I went to Perth for 3 weeks. I have an offer that I am considering at the moment but it is still up for sale. I spent a thousand dollars getting all the paint perfect and the car honestly looks absolutely amazing. It looks like it just rolled out of the Nissan Factory except its a hell of a lot faster than a stock model. Anyway if anyone is interested they can view the car in Ascot Vale Melbourne right next to the Flemington race track. Call or sms me on 0413 689 302 to arrange a look -
A problem that had me scratching my head a couple of years ago It will be one of these: 1. Coil packs in the Rb20 are prone to f*ck up. 2. Most likely your spark plugs are not gapped correctly and adding octane booster puts this orange shit on them that stops them working correctly and this problem is simply amplified when the gapping is wrong.

R32 shock replacement. Choices???
QuickR33Melb replied to QuickR33Melb's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ideally thats what I want to do. I know plenty of places down in Melbourne that sell import parts but they seem to be in scarce supply! I have been quoted $180 for a second hand pair. -
I have an R32 that is extremely low. (by last owner and I never bothered to raise the car) Over the last 2 months the ride quality and handling has deminished to the point where the car needs some attention in the next few days. I stopped at Chasers Tuning on Saturday and they came to the conclusion that my rear shocks are completely dead. They squeak when I drive and even when I get out of the car. Every bump on the road surface is felt and the car loses the rear end at any corner or on full throttle (car jumps sideways) I called Desilvia Parts today and was quoted $180 for a second hand set of rear shocks which seems rather steep. Do the major suspension retailers have shocks for R32 GTST and what do you recommend for the car given its fairly modded?? The car is for sale so I don't want to fork out for coilovers. Just a set of shocks that will give the car a smooth drive with sporty handling. Anyway there are obviously aftemarket springs involved which may complicate finding something suitable
