Hello guys, I have been reading through many threads on little ways to get increased performance from a stock cooler a skyline. There are many theories including removing panals etc. I thought we should put all the ideas on a single thread. If you have any great ideas for stock cooler performance lets hear them!

Hi guys, Recently got an aftermarket spoiler for my 1995 GTS-T I have the factory spoiler in excellent condition with a fully functioning brake light. It's the smaller one that rises about three inches off the boot. Perfect if you are trying to get the 'sleeper' look or if you need a factory spoiler for compliance. Anyway let me know if anyone is interested

Idle Difficulty On Series 2 R33...any Ideas???
QuickR33Melb replied to SIR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I found that problem when I installed an aftermarket BOV. It was fixed when I installed a Apexi AFC. -
The other possible option may be to have the factory (side) front mount re-piped so that it actually sits in the middle of your front bar and gets alot more airflow. Water spray kit may be another temp option

R33 Parts available update
QuickR33Melb replied to jetgts's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I need the power board for the electric windows. The unit that sits in the drivers door. Mine has a faulty button for the drivers window. Send me an email if you still have it -
Guys, I have a mate with an RS turbo that recently purchased a performance chip from a member of his RS club (this guy makes them) The chip cost about $300 and he installed it himself. I don't know the specifics of this chip other than it modifies the fuel flow, boost levels and some timing enhancements. The ride is much smoother and he has considerable power gains. Has anyone heared of such chips for skylines?? If so where do you get them??

Speeding teen kills- (in a skyline)
QuickR33Melb replied to dale's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
It sounds as if the rest of Australia has pretty relaxed laws when it comes to young drivers. In Victoria 1. Have P plates for a three year period 2. The first three years are restricted to a power rate of 1kw/9kg which makes driving a manual skyline illegal 3. If you lose more than 5 demerit points in a 12 month period you lose your licence for 6 months 4. If you don't desplay P plates it's a $200 fine and three points. Why is the rest of Australia so much different?????? -
Is that price firm? I have a budget that at best can stretch to about $28,000
-
I can't believe you guys I had to check the top of the page because I thought I have accidently clicked on a S15 site. I can tell you now that for that price range you could get an mint condition S2 R33 and none of you can convince me that a car like that has less road presence than a S15. Whether you like it or not the Skyline has become the cult car of this generation. I just got back from a holiday in Lorne and even little kids knew what car I was driving. I cant imagine them saying "look mummy, there is an S15 200sx/Silvia) Shame on all of you that suggested an S15

Hello boys and girls, I was driving down the freeway and I ran over what I thought at the time a big piece of re-tread off a truck. Strangley I did not see it coming. Later I found the protective piece that stops water, dirt from the tyres going into the chassis missing from under my front right wheel arch. (this is the piece that attaches to the front bar. If you know of anyone that will sell me one in Melbourne please let me know!!!! Cheers

Wrecking R33 GTS25t Black ser1 (Melb)
QuickR33Melb replied to Bozz's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm after the front drivers side mud guard that sits under the wheel arch. It the piece that sits on under the wheel ooward the front bar. I lost mine while driving down the freeway (thought I ran over a piece of re-tred). -
Try and get your hands on the last issue of HPI (high Performance Imports mag. It has a white GTR on the front with 900hp. The is a great story on a N/A 180sx which the guy is trying to get 100rwkw on a tight budget. At the very least it will give you some good ideas for your skyline

R33 GTS25 $10,090 not registered....worth it?
QuickR33Melb replied to V8skylineMAN's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Even if it is complied then it will cost you a thousand to put it on road (registration plates etc) Be very suspicous of the guy selling it as it is considerably cheaper than current market value. Try and get him to complete an RSCV report or equivelent. It's still alot of money and if it isn't complied then forget about it -
I would look on ebay. There is plenty of stuff under the turbo section. There are even manuals for sale that explain the options for turbo conversions etc. For those of you that don't know about the site I would certainly take a look. www.ebay.com.au

I have a turbo HKS BOV fitted that makes a nice sound. For those that say the power drops I didn't notice any change once I installed it other than everybody on the street snapping their necks to see my car rolling past. lol. If you want a nice sound buy an adjustable aftermarket BOV and play around with it until you have the desired sound
-
Well guys, how about some turbos that are straight bolt ons (no modifications needed) Lets throw up some ideas for all those drivers out there with a turbo upgrade at the back of their mind???
-
I would agree with the T piece option. i have both running well. Use a metal coat hunger and you can find a gap in the firewall. I have a friend that runs the after market boost gauge tubing through the top of the bonnet and under the rubber seals as he could find a hole in the fire wall. This is an easier way and you can get all the tubing hidden pretty well. Make sure you attach the lights to the PARKERS under the boss kit as you will lose the light from the boost gauge if you put the high beams on if the power wire is attached to your main headlights. I attached the earth wire of the boost gauge to the screws that hold the clutch in place. there are four of them if you take the plastic piece away in front of the glove box. Anyway those are my tips but I'm sure there are plenty more

Can you tell me the name of the guy selling the front pipe as I am after one myself.

Extra boost has created a problem
QuickR33Melb replied to QuickR33Melb's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I got the car back and it is boosting without a problem! Thanks to everybody for their advice it is greatly apprieciated! My mechanic is at a loss to explain how that slight adjustment can stop the jerky engine but it works so I'm happy. Thanks again guys I'll buy you all a drink one day. PS- Have a look on ebay for some good skyline parts -
Extra boost has created a problem
QuickR33Melb replied to QuickR33Melb's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Your a funny man Robo. I dropped the car off this morning at Ultratune in Collingwood. I'm good mates with the owner so I buy him Macca's for lunch and he does an hours work for free. I also told him to check the air fuel mix which may need adjusting I will keep you all posted and let you know what the results are when I take the car out for some late night track work near the airport. -
If you want the BOV noise why not fit a big aftermarket BOV?? I have a super sonic turbo smart model. You can hear it 100 metres away. One problem I have had though is the car stalling after a massive release of compression
-
Well I have owned both. I think you will find the RB25 a slightly more responsive engine and the R33 seems to have a little more wow factor when you pull into a street full of school girls. lol
