What Is Wrong With Adjustable Arms
dontfeelcold replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If you didn't go with the rotating bush to adjust front camber, what would be the best design for an adjustable front upper arm for a R32 GTR? Maybe something like the "midori" ones with a polyurethane bush? I assume it would need to be very rigid. While I am at it, how is castor changed in a R32 GTR? -
I have a PICAXE 28X. Its a package made for learning microcontrollers as it has alot of extra functions already built into it. It comes with a disc with all of the commands and tutorials of how to use them. It also has tutorials for interfacing circuits and there is one that shows you how to use a solenoid so I though I would have a go. It recommends using the IRF530, which is can handle up to 14 amps. By F/V do you mean frequency/voltage? Yes it has PWM out and is what it recommends to use. PIC programming is easy, working out the logic for the program is the difficult yet fun part. Providing I get it working, who is going to offer the doner car? As my car won't be running for a long time.

Got my L2S. Now I can destroy my R31 till the GTR is going.

How much current does the solenoid pull and what is the max voltage it operates at? This microcontroller I have should be able to control the solenoid. Its just a matter of making sure I use a mosfet that can handle the ampereage and voltage. I can also use a variable resistor to vary the amount of power assistance at different speeds.

Thats the punishment for putting a V8 in a skyline, especially a non-nissan V8.

What about the 2 gears that are close together? -

In the first pic, is the shaft that is at the front of the pic one piece? -
I can't remember now.

I am just wondering if someone could recommend me a pitman arm puller that would be suitable for pulling the balljoints out of the GTR aluminium steering knuckles. Looking to spruce up the suspension parts. I tried one from repco but it was a floppy piece of crap. Thanks.

Bling isn't for me sorry. Looking for some r32 front inner gaurds, the plastic bits at the front of the inside of the wheel arch, with the asscoiatted clips. Josh

R32 Gtr -attessa - No Abs

When you say "touch the brakes" do you mean to a full stop or slow the car down a little. How many sensors are hooked up to the brakes? I know there is one on the master cylinder and one on the brake pedal mount. Maybe try disconecting those? (if you haven't tried it already) -
mmmmm, sizzlers.

do you mean angular contact ball races? Whats an acceptable amount of side to side play and end float in a ball bearing turbo when it is cold (I would assume there is some allowance for expansion)?

What type of LSD was it and what type of oil? -
What Gauges Do You Like Better
dontfeelcold replied to dontfeelcold's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I will start with a oil pressure gauge, I don't have one on my R31. I will have a play with needle style one first (the PICAXE microcontroller I have will do this easily) as the LED and Digital character types are easier to program for, but I will need a microcontroller with a lot more outputs unless I can think of a way to program it with only a few outputs. -

regular needle style and christams tree. (just imagine there are numbers on them)
