  1. Anyone know what the results are? Who won? I was just speaking to a friend of mine who was running a GTR on the weekend, ended up pulling the fastest time at Sandown. Take that Porches, Lambo's etc.
  2. Sounds like a loose bolt somewhere. Check all of the bolts to do with the steering including rack, the steering wheel shaft, that bush inline with the steering wheel shaft, all of teh bolts at the hubs. If not, sounds like there is alot of play in the rack. Let us know how it goes.
  3. Is there a model to suit s13's? (to go into a R31)
  4. Regarding the intercooler and the radiator, how was this set up on the gibson GTR's? It looks to me like the intercooler is behind the radiator? Or is it just the intercooler endtank (which looks to be at the top) that comes up over the radiator?
  5. I did the same thing (I left the locknut on the nut and went for a drive, woops). I went to a tyre shop, they found a socket that they could bash on there and they got them all off.
  6. Just lift the car off the ground, put it in 5th and polish away. Be careful though.
  7. do you adjust the droop on your race car GTR's? Or is the shock length suited to suspenion settings?
  8. didn't think they would like much load. thanks for that.
  9. Sorry, I meant droop as in the amount the suspension drops (until it stops dropping) from ride height, when the wheels are lifted off the ground in relation to the handling of a car. Not spring sag/wear and tear. I have an idea what it does, just curious about methods of adjusting it. Also known as "down travel"
  10. Is the suspension twisting due to the forces being applied to the suspension arms? or is it they way it was meant to work? I thought that suspension that used a double wishbone setup would not want to be twisting. So is there anything wrong with using rollerbearings in suspension that move in one plane? Are they better? The mini had them in the inner pivot point of the upper arm. A few Pro's I can think of. The arms can be tightned up to the roller bearing inner race when the suspension is at full droop. They can be mounted either in rubber/polyurethane or mounted straight into the arm. When mounted straight into the arm they should be quite solid. depending of the condition of the bearing. Con's (can't think of too many) Possile excessive wear, but if they are used in street cars they musn't be that bad? I will have to check the ones on the mini. A hard hit might brea them?
  11. Just dragging a thread out. I noticed in my Dad's mini that the suspenion arms use roller bearings in the pivot points and the Yamaha R1 rear swing arm I modified today uses them aswell. What are the Pro's and Con's of using roller bearings in suspension pivot points??
  12. Questions for the suspension guru's..... How do you adjust the suspension droop? Where do you measure it from? Do you bother adjusting suspension droop? Thanks
  13. Like the title say I am after a drum handbrake assembley for R33 GTST / R32 GTR. I am also after some rear R33 GTST / R32 GTR rotors, preferably throw aways. Let me know what you have. Reason: I want to try and do a 2 pot rear brake conversion on my R3 and need the above parts to do a mock up to see if its possible.
  14. What about the smashed up R32 GTR on carsales that "pulls the chicks"? 21K what a bargain. Maybe school isn't over.
  15. its safer to drill it out and then knock out the threads. if the head of the bolt/stud has sheared off due to the bolt/stud being locked in there really tight then there is a chance the easy out could brake.
  16. Can you give a price and a list of things that have been serviced please.
  17. The description sounds a bit dodgy. Legal for p-platers and its turbo? You would have to wonder if the picture is actually of that car. I doubt it.
  18. Is there a common failing point of the sender units?
  19. The next BIG step will be rotary valves in the everyday engine. This kind of thing makes camshafts and valves obsolete. Once the bugs are ironed out that is. just google "rotary valve engines" for some good examples.
  20. Yep. If that doesn't work, put a longer pipe over the breaker bar.
  21. Any of this still for sale?
  22. Can anyone say Rotary Valves?
  23. Just an idea, seeing as the stagea needs the standard ecu to run the auto gearbox, can't you leave the standard computer hooked up to the loom, still receiving inputs from the sensors and sending instructions to the auto, but not let the standard computer tell the injectors, timing etc what to do. Then, get a Power FC and splice it into the loom and away you go. Might require some fiddling here and there to make sure that the correct voltages are going to the ECU's. Just throwing the ideas out there.
  24. And the moral of the story is..... get an engineers certificate or if you decide to do a mod to your car, find out whether it's legal or not.
