  1. Spooks, Go back to MM and get them to look at it firstly. I think that you should give them an opportunity to explain. On a side note I had my PFC tuned there and am quite happy with the fuel economy, granted I mainly drive it on weekends and it is warmed up before every drive and then cooled down...
  2. After further reflection I am still quite angry... The minimalistic approach to "cost" items like improved roads and education is sickening at the very least. Seems the focus on the Beattie government is "revenue" items will cause people to better handle unexpected situations and conditions on our roads. I too am counting the days until the next election, Mr Beattie your days are numbered you incompetant fwit, the main things that you proclaimed being able to fix, transport and hospitals, and all you have done is f it up more. On a side note your son definitely follows in his father footsteps...
  3. Is the QUALITY of the work guaranteed as well Looks like a straight car to start off with!! But a nice job!!
  4. I have no subwoofer............ I stand by the fact that when they cannot find the cause of an accident they blame speed. As Dick Johnson has said MANY times (and I highly agree with him from having a drag racing background) that EDUCATION is the solution, or a very large part there of. Oh and double demerit points, more revenue raising cause I am sure they will double the fine to go with it!!! The amount the Govt raises from fines could easily fund education facilities and training, but instead it seems it better spent elsewhere. Also on a side note, it costs more to bury someone than educate them to drive!!! Add to the fact that alot of people no longer have the respect or common courtesy on our roads and you have a recipe for disaster...not only that but the lack of respect extends, though I dare to the tools in Cronulla... Oh and this malarchy still has to go through parliament...

Happy Birthday, hope you feel older.....lol
  6. Dan, Need to catch up for a beer and have a talk!! Cheers Neill
  7. Congrats!!!
  8. Nice engine crane This a very good thread!!! Will be very interested to have a looksie when its all back together!!!
  9. have to agree totally with rev, its either rings gone (DEFINITELY more than 1), ringlands or the pistons themselves. If it were just a single ring it would take a little while to fill the catch can... rebuild time, but definitely a comp test and possiblly a leak down will show the true colours of your problem!!!
  10. I have had this problem (attributable to increase in speed) it occurs for me when going over 80km/h and then disappears about 100km/h It was not engine related. Why the past tense well... I did the following Secured fron fog lamp leads Secured inner guard after lower section removed Got tyres pulled off rims to remove dirt balls the build up sometimes A HOST of other things to ni avail Then one day...it just went away...had me stumped, mechanic stumped Fulcrum stumped...its the little gremlin, maybe I went fast enough that he finally f#cked off
  11. this is excellent news, something I have been hanging out for for almost a year on!!! Wake up garrett!!! I think thye are about to make a sharp spike in sales once this hits the shelf, sort of like the T04Z...
  12. I learnt everything about cars from the old man and his mates. On eof whom was 3 time Australian Pro Stock champ (three years in a ROW mind you) As it is I work in an office and as such my knowledge and skills have declined, but alas, it all comes down to listening to others. Some TAFE courses are good, but I fail to see the relevance unless you are an apprentice mechanic who HAS to go. 90% of mechanics learn stuff on the job...especially if they work for good mechanics!!!
  13. Where ever your dad works I would not be going...surfice to say never listen to family Might be an idea to pull of the sump and see if anything is evident. Also change the oil to see if there are any unwanted particles in the oil, strian it through a stocking unless you have a magnet lying around
  14. happy Birthday...a day late i know...

  21. SK sorry to point out...BUT you have your numbers arse about on the pictures...the large pineapple goes towards the front of the car, thus picture 1 should be labelled 1 & 2 and NOT 3 & 4
  22. I used a rag and some thinners...no cotton bud or anything turned out perfect!!! Then again I removed the resin that is on the Nissan wording... Oh and I like the VHT red...so I used that!!!

How long it took Dropped the car off at 7am, picked it up all ready to go at 5pm on the next day (had the car on the second day for cold start) 5. Comments The car is 100 times better, idles smooth, does not run rich, better fuel economy. The car is on a very safe tune as standard cooler and turbo. Also can run air con without hiccups that were occuring before. 160rwkw on 10psi, well 9 if you measure it at peak power...massive improvement in the low and mid range as well. Now its just som etim eot turn up the wick after and FMIC!!!
