  2. I will second Morayfield smash, as they do good paint work and and body work and have qualified tradepeople...unlike some "specialist" body kit places.... There is also Caboolture Crash...geez all the names sound the same...but anyway they also do a good job
  3. Paul, are you going to develop an engine monitor similar to the one in Cam's EVO for the skyline guys???
  4. Quite a few workshops won't touch Wolf...and for good reason!!!
  5. Missed it again...geez I got to stop being so busy!!!
  6. No worries champ. Was a good day, and thatnks for the quick lap. And apologies for those people who had to see me change into the long gear in the pits...ahahaha.
  7. Unfortunately, Cam did his best lap time in the first session where the timing went down, from there the brakes could not keep up, and thus had to resort to tyre pressure and intake testing. Was an awesome day other than the heat, and Col I looked around for you but must have missed you. Your were parked nearby but must have been off yonda doing stuff, besides, most of the time I was changing EVO spark plugs cause people were destroying them with too much octane boost...
  8. Well atleast you left your wing on!! The movement of those cars with no wing is huge. The EVO's also have issues when people remove the wing. I noticed your tyres in one of my pit walks... You were also not runig enough neg camber resulting in the outer edge fubar that you have!! Cheers Angry
  9. I would be after recourse from the place they were stored...I am sure their insurance would cover such things...and the fact that they came back would suggest some knwoledge of the establishment in question.
  10. Great Day, I have posted my opinion on the EVO forum mainly as I pit for EVO Cam (ex GTRCAM). I have to say great to meet you JMac, hope the car holds up after the water incident. Remember to put some coolant in there!!! And yes the day was tooo hot, plus our car was outperforming the brakes as we have recently had turbo upgrades care of APC. We were hoping for a 56 for the clubman but the timing gear was down the first run (though the brake pedal went to the floor...) and best of the day was 57.3 with the tyres being to high in pressure due to the heat. On a side note, I think the time attack should be limited to 2 cars and those cars be SIMILAR in lap times and not dordle on the warm up lap... Other than that an excellent day and would have to say that I was stuffed last night and could only handle a few Corona's before calling it a day. Also was good to see some nice machines out (yes I do own a skyline still...), and disspointing that some cars had to retire/were retired due to the heat. At track temps around 49C and air at 39C it really was a car killer even with large capacity radiators and oil coolers!! Cheers Angry
  11. I almost cried when I opened this thread and had a read... If you guys new anything about paint and especially the paint on your car then you would know that for $33 you get what you pay for... Being a wash with cheap detergents that most likely remove previous waxes, good in part but does not help in maintaining your finish. The second is buffing with polish that removes a fine layer of paint, and remember your paint in mm thick and you will be constantly removing paint. Further, they don't use proper sealants or wax's which will result in the paint deteriorating and looking dull quicker and will get dirty quicker, resulting in...yes you guessed it, you forking out another $33... But alas, the is not a big expense, until they buff through the clear and hit the pigment layer resulting in you now forking out for a respray. Don't get me wrong, some car wash places are good, predominantly for that, car washing. If you want to polish your car properly do it yourself or see a professional detailer. You may be charged $150 for a decent polish sealant wax, but they use top end products and your paint will last years longer....
  12. Are we talking Small Block as in 350 into a 69 Comaro... I would be looking at something slightly smaller than the R33 turbos, maybe T28, and these will not have ceramic wheels that due to the N/A engine are likely to cause problems with the higher static compression. There is plenty of info on the T28's...if anyone has a better suggestion then I am sure this guy is open to ideas!!!
  13. Whens it coming out to QR to take on the EVO...

    Ppq!

MR FIED... Not mine on a 8 series BMW...
  23. Agree with everything posted here. i do quite a few mates cars in my spare time and the difference even between factory paints is remarkable. And no you WILL NOT get as good a result from using elbow grease as an orbital I will also add that yes white is the hardest to get results, but its also the best test colour for new products. Cheap crap can make any dark colour look decent. Well done with the links, the Waxit website is ideal for anyone who is serious about their own car or does this professionally or as a side thing. I do it on the side purely becuase I have two double garages side access and a large driveway that I can put cars on...otherwise I think I would be making some physio a huge amount of money....
