*bump* -
Cheers for the input mate; yeh the rev limiter is definately removed, you still accelerate nicely after 7K. My mates skyline has rev limiter that cuts him off at the stock 7K mark- once u reach 7K it just bounces off the rev limiter.
-
Thnx for the input champ; i think i may have misworded my question a bit - i understand the rev ranges etc - however my rev limiter is removed and i can rev past 7K, and i guess even to 9K if you were game; so far i've accidentally taken it up to around 8K just briefly before changing gears. I now understand that there must be some sort of ECU chip or aftermarket ECU controlling this.
-
I'm not saying there is a problem- Car drives perfectly, i just wanted to know what could cause the the rev limiter to be removed, but yer you could take it all the way up to 9 if you really wanted to; not that you would want to i'm sure something would give way!
-
Hey fellas, Just a quick question.....on my r33 the rev limiter has been removed - what is causing my rev limiter to not be there? can you reprogram the stock ecu and remove it? do you have to have an aftermarket ECU to remove the rev limiter? Would appreciate any comments. Cheers Billy.

FOR SALE: Nissan Skyline Gts-T R33
JAPCAB replied to NickySantoro's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Hehe 19K....i guess you would have to have a look at the car first then you would realise that your 19K offer is far below what the car is worth. For 19K you will most likely get a very stock early model 33 or one with some mods but in need of some attention on the engine. I have seen nicky's R33 and it is the cleanest skyline i have ever seen!! The interior and seats dont have a mark on them, the white duco is in outstanding condition and the engine has never been boosted or had anything more than an air filter and exhaust fitted on it. The body kit is good but the rear tall boy spoiler is just nut case.....I have only ever seen 1 in the whole of melbourne and i have searched on the internet to buy the same spoiler for myself but no one stocks it! -
Fellow skyline drivers; I had my liner broken into in the CBD, parked on a main road during broad daylight. The tint on my windows is VERY dark and you can barely see in during the day. They jackked my head unit and damaged bits of the dash when yanking it out. Its not so much the headunit missing that is the problem ($700 pioneer unit), its the fkn damage they did to my fkn door which needs a new door skin - and i went to a few panel beaters and they cant find any skyline door skins so u have to get a new door or bogg up the damage. A new door and spraying will cost around the $1200 mark. My word of advice to any skyline owners is make sure u only park on main roads, never park down any sidestreets and definately do not park your car near any commission flats. Make sure you have an alarm that may at least deter them when its going off but remember it only takes these pricks 15-20 seconds to do over ur car - mates of mine with alarms have been jacked before. If you have lots of lovely guages, apexi electronic gear etc on the dash dont let ur fkn car go outta ur sight. Its fkt these days that you cant even have a nice car without it getting broken into and wrecked not to mention dickheads going around keying peoples cars - 1 of my mates with a skyline got keyed to the shithouse parked in a paid parking lot. Sucks hey.

Any1 interested before i swap these plates onto my car? Willing to cut a good deal! -
I popped in some new bosch spark plugs - they have 4 prongs on them instead of 1, definately a performance gain, the old plugs were ****ed. However with the idling it seemed to be A-OK but its doing it again - however not as bad. I removed and cleaned and refitted all the intercooler and induction piping, all seems to be ok there too. Where do i find the AAC valve btw? (sorry i'm pretty new to all this shit) any other ideas guys? Thanks for all the help so far its been great

yeah mine needs a friggin regass too......u turn on the aircond and its like having the regular fan on, no cold air at all. There goes another $120.....
-
Druzilla....christ yeah that would be scary as at 160km/h!! yeah i'll pop in some new plugs as soon as i can afford it. blind_elk - will do i will suggest to my mechanic....will an oil change help with the gears being stiff to move in neutral?
-
Yeah i experience the same problem...its a bitch! its when you are standing still and push the clutch right to the floor and you try to put it into first and its a bit stiff to go into gear but it does and it makes a sort of grinding noise and you can feel the vibration in the gearstick : however it doesnt happen all the time, only occasionally. But yer once the car is moving its fine. Someone told me its a worn synchro on first gear and not to really change it unless it gets really bad. I still have to get mine looked at - who knows how much its going to cost!!
-
Yeah i've tried that heaps of times, like leaving the clutch pressed in firmly b4 moving into gear and it still does it. sounds expensive to repair anyhows though - i'll get my mechanic to check it out. thanks. with the idling problem my mechanic has recommended new sparkies...lets hope that fixes it up
