  1. Come on...someone must have one for sale...if not for sale could someone please lend one to me? I live in doncaster/balwyn area...
  2. As title states, I require a stock air box for r33 to clear an EPA/canary. Could you please contact 0407 562 758 or send SMS. Willing to pick up from your house wherever that is in melbourne. thank you!
  3. hrmm a stolen stock r33....yeah i saw about 50 in the last 2 days. You said it wasn't complianced? obiviously the thieves would of had to compliance it to drive it, can you do a check on the vin numbers of cars that have been complianced in the last year? Call vicroads and see if they can check up the VIN. If they were going to register it though I'd imagine they would of fkt around with the vin numbers anyways though, but you never know they might of been dumb. The car has most likely been stripped though. If your car was stolen a year ago you have BUCKLEYS of getting it back. Its not like a stock r33 is anything distinctive that can be picked out of a crowd
  4. Allblitz, unless you are prepared to go up to NSW and beat $650 out of him, or unless he decides to give it back, you have no hope of getting it back. Just put it down to experience and use COD in future. To the other knob who said he would be more suspicious of COD - are you a complete idiot or what? Do you even know what COD is? The fact that you have done 50+ transactions and not been ripped off means that you have been lucky dealing with honest people.
  5. yes you need to cut it. Just get an angle grinder, and when you go to install it just mark where the cooler sits and start cutting the reinforcement - its a bit of trial and error until you make enough room but its pretty easy.
  6. far out some of u guys can barely wipe ur own arses without getting onto the forum and starting a thread......... If you think it will cause a problem....change the oil, easy to do if you dont care, drive it anyway sorted
  7. if you have the 2ltr gts you get beaten in drags by poofs in pink hyundai's
  8. You have to be a complete moron to send $650 interstate.......haven't you guys learned anything from all the Ebay frauds and other SAU members etc that have been jibbed. Also $650 for a PFC + handcontroller.....its got to be bullshit INSIST ON COD ( Cash On Delivery)!!!!!!! It costs about $20! twits
  9. Oh hell yeah...i remember at one point i was using about 350-400 per week on petrol lol....my lead footed driving style definately contributed to wasting tank upon tank of petrol! I barely used to get out of the car, i was either sleeping, eating or driving my car haha. Next car? well.... something that wont get a canary! maybe s2000? i dont particularly want to go turbo again because the tendency will be there to make it mega loud, and pop on heaps of illegal goodies. R31Nismoid - I take it you are reffering to nickysantoro? why is he a dodgy f*ck? tell me what happened
  10. Hey everyone, Just thought i'd mention that I just sold my skyline! Looks like i'm out of the turbo world unfortunately. I guess i wont be missing the countless fines and defects, i should save a lot of money!! This was the main factor behind selling my car, i'd equate the running/keeping costs as on par with a mercedes/ferrari! haha. If I couldn't have the car the way i liked it which included several illegal modifications, then i might as well sell it because there is no way i would return the car to stock!! It sucked to give up something that i loved so much, the sound of the straight pipe exhaust with no resonator or cat always gave a thrill. I almost cried when it ripped off down the street with its new owner!! I guess i wont be on these forums very much anymore since I dont own a skyline now. Would just like to pass on thanks for everyone that assisted me and the high quality of posts by other users that proved to be very helpful, interesting and funny. All the best. JAPCAB.
  11. looks like you will have to cut your losses buddy....$18K is steep for a stock skyline with bodykit.
  12. Clutch cable?? I believe you have an R33, they have a hydraulic clutch system, using a master cylinder and slave cylinder so no cable. New exedy HD clutch fitted from chasers = $850. What is the problem you are experiencing?? is the clutch slipping??? have you lost your clutch pedal?? are you having to force the gearstick into gear when trying to engage/change gears??
  13. squeaky pedal? sounds like your clutch master cylinder. Cheap to repair, it will need a rebuild (seals, perhaps the shaft with a stainless steel sleeve), about $90. good idea to fix slave at the same time too. This happened on mine, eventually turned into a click, then bang no clutch. You may also notice that you put the clutch fully down and you recieve a small notch of the gearbox when putting into gear/into another gear - this is because the clutch is not dissengaging properly because of the fault in the clutch hydraulic system (the master/slave cylinders)
  14. with your pedal stuck to the ground, this sounds like a hydraulic problem (master cylinder or slave cylinder or both). Yes other cars use a cable clutch but skyline uses hydraulic. To get your master cylinder reconditioned with new seals and stainless steel sleeve if needed is about 70-100 per cylinder. Mechanic can do this for you or you can give it a go yourself, i tried it myself and ended up stuffing up the master cylinder again so for $200 or so save the hassle and let a mechanic get it going for you. With the clutch - any idea on the wear on it? is it new? old? due for replacement?
  15. maybe you could post him back a C4 mailbomb as a personal thanks for the rip off. better yet - why doesn't everyone repost their junk mail and any other shit to alex's joint? perhaps even print outs of the forum thread in hope that his dad reads it and breaks his fkn neck for us?
  16. personally....i wouldn't mind dropping around to alex's joint and beating $200 worth of sard fuel regulator out of him....we'll say $1 each punch? Seriously guys, insist of COD when purchasing. Its dead simple - just get the guy to go to the post office, and with the COD, this can be paid by the sender, or the recipient. Its not expensive either - $15-20?? very little money but piece of mind in knowing that you wont get jibbed. The post office is reasonable too - allowing you to open the package first to make sure the part you requested is in there.
  17. Hey maybe degreaser does work, but the correct thing to use is contact cleaner. It doesnt leave any residue and negates the need to 'wash out' the AFM with water after applying the degreaser. I would of imagined that using degreaser, then washing it off with water - you cant really get in there to dry it because of the mesh - wouldn't there be a possibility of rust forming? Maybe because you were using degreaser thats why you had to clean your AFM out every 2 months? I do mine about once a year...if that.
  18. and yes $200 is good, i paid $130 for just master cylinder reconditioning, fitting then new hydraulic fluid. I gave it a try myself, to be honest with you for $200 go and get it done by the mechanic, the master cylinder is a bit of a bitch to remove if you dont have the right tools.
  19. yep i had this same problem. for $200 they are probably reconditioning your master/slave cylinders - which means they will replace the seals, and if needed resleeve the bore with a new stainless steel sleeve. The problem you will be experiencing is when you put the clutch pedal down fully, that you will have trouble getting in and out of gears, this is due to the fault with the hydraulic system (a master cylinder or slave cylinder problem or both) meaning that the clutch cannot be dissengaged properly.
  20. rex aint got sh1t on the run
  21. My headunit got ripped out, unfortunately when they stole the deck they ripped out the deck mount and the DIN which sits underneath the deck. Has anyone got it for sale or know where i can buy one from? Also required, the Dash surround that covers the aircond controls/deck/steering column. Willing to pay decent cash. cheers.
  22. my house is a split level on a slope, so the downstairs bit at the back of the house sits low. I went downstairs in my jocks to grab some socks off the clothes horse; and there was about an inch of water that had got in. Spent an hour mopping it all up, filled up 3 5 litre buckets! Wet the wooden floor aswell, hope it doesnt crack and warp once it dries out. Got to work late (that wasnt a problem, i woke up a bit late because my alarm clock stopped working because there was a power cut last night)
  23. Pull out the instrument cluster. you have to take out the plastic dash shroud that covers the steering wheel, and the one around the aircond/deck. There are 3 plugs so dont worry about not being able to put it back together again. Unplug and reconnect. You may want to check the connection running into the ECU in the passenger side kickpanel...this is held in by a bolt so doubtful that its that. May be the actual tacho itself, surely you can just buy a replacement tachometer and slot that into the intrument panel instead of buying the whole lot. you could probably give it a crack yourself and if you run into any problems go see an autoelec.
  24. you say the mechanism of rods inside the door seems ok - have you checked the actual latch on the side of the door that locks onto the hinge on the door jam? might be worth a try.
  25. prepare for a leb style reeming. I know thats a 80 zone, and yep its a speed camera aswell. How did you miss the sign that says 'speed camera ahead'? you must of really been travelling at a quick pace to not be able to slow down in time! Be careful on that road - the cops often sit and do speed trapping at the bottom of the hill at that park and further up between mountain hwy/stud rd. They use the bastards on the bikes so you can be speeding along next thing some cop bike speeds right up behind ya. It will probably take a month or so by time the fine comes in, at which point you can call civic compliance a few times to get extensions on paying the fine. You should be able to score a further 2-3 months like this. Once you pay the fine, another 2-3 months until the vicroads letter comes in ,telling you that you have 1 month left until your licence gets suspended. If you were really belting it, and you have to go to court, expect about 8-10 months until the summons arrives in your post box in a lovely victoria police envelope. I dont understand why they cant put it in a plain envelope, that envelope f*cks me up every time with the olds cuz they always open it before me!!! If you dont have to go to court, you can probably get away for another 7-8 months of having your licence before losing it. If you have to go to court, probably a year and a bit before you have to face the music - ample time to save up for an expensive lawyer!! anything decent you are looking $1500 mark.
