How Do I Remove This Car Window Shade Thingo?
statue replied to statue's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Paint it black? I don't think that would look very good.. I'd rather remove it for a better look. It didn't bother me much until I kept seeing other R34's without it. It just bottled up inside and only just recently I'm like " Thats it, its coming off! " -
Where Can I Get My Rear Spoiler Painted?
statue replied to statue's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Went to a few panel beaters for quotes.. One said $400 Another said $500 Went to carmate $200 so I was like GO GO GO Turns out the piece of crap spoiler I ordered sucked. It wasn't made properly. The legs were screwed onto the spoiler a bit too narrow. So I need to also pay for fitting. Carmates price for Painting and Fitting was $350 When they started painting, I looked up carmate reviews online saying that carmate sucks. So I got worried. But it turned out good. They matched the colour and handled the fitting very well but at the cost of $350. Well anyways.. Thx Carmate If I wasn't in such a rush, I would of tried X Racing Motorsport and Team JetSpeed to get more quotes. Some good reviews for them. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=349954 -
How Do I Remove This Car Window Shade Thingo?
statue replied to statue's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Deller, It's just that I took up a new goal for my car to be black and not having any parts being a different colour, with the exception of white, and not brown. Like just recently I've ordered smoked white indicator lights with orange bulbs to replace the current orange ones and also painted my wheels black. So yeah.. anyways.. thanks olloSKYLINEollo Will see how it goes -
It's been over 48 hours for the 1st wheel (front left wheel) and over 24 hours for the other 3 Tell me what you think. Does it look matte to you? Looks shiny. I think the clear coat made it glossy. lol Oh well.. I'm happy with the results

Hey I want to remove this thing but I don't know how. I don't even know what its called.. "Car Window Shading Ugly Brown Stuff" It seems to be taped down with double sided tape. Not sure tho, if I try to pull it, the tape thing kind of stretches and looks sticky. How do I properly remove it? Is there like products to remove it? What do I do? It's so brown and I hate it lol Also there are some metal clip things hooking onto the black rubber thing attached to the car: shown in the pics..

It took me a long time and lots of pain. Maybe not a long time, but constant PAIN!!!-ting. My hands are hurting bad. I'm so unfit ! It's been almost a day and the first wheel doesn't look matte black. I'm getting worried. Is it normal?

1st wheel holding the car now. I asked my bro if I could borrow his spare tyre and it didn't fit ! So I just got his jack instead.. borrowed my mums jack too so that I could do the next 3! The last 3 wheels are done and now waiting to dry! Am I doing it right? Looks good to me. Just waiting for it to dry for the matte black look I guess?
-
Thanks guys. Finished painting the first wheel.. so far so good.. Unfortunately for me, I only have 1 jack.. and the spare tyre is deflated. So 1 wheel at a time for me. After the last coat, how long should I wait to put it back on the car to dry, so I can do the next wheel? Of course I won't drive it. But I want to get it all wheels done asap before I have to drive again. Or is it not a good idea? Need advice fast ! Thanks

Damn. Powder coat is so expensive ! $50 per wheel, plus, nearest powder coating place is another $50 petrol money ! Im cheap.. I'll go with spray paint.. $50 for 4 wheels Matte Black or Black Gloss ?

Hey guys, Thinking about painting the wheels myself. I've never done it before but I looked up some guides and vids on youtube thinking that I could do it. Heres what I got so far, and correct me if theres any mistakes: Requirements 1 or 2 Car Jacks Painters Tape Lots of Newspapers or those Card thingos 3 or 4 Sand Paper 150-320 grit (any recommendations?, different sources giving different numbers) 2 cans of Primer 2 to 4 cans of Engine/Wheel Paint (any recommendations?, I can only find Duplicolor Metalcast and 3m Engine Enamel Black Gloss or Black Matt, any of these good?) 2 cans of (Resistant?) Clear Coat Process 1. Remove Wheel properly 2. Clean thoroughly well and Dry 3. Sand wheels and wipe off 4. Tape and cover Tyre 4. Spray with Primer and wait to dry 5. Sand Again ? ? ? 6. Spray with Wheel/Engine Paint and wait to dry 7. Repeat 6 three or four times. (Any recommendations? How many times?) 8. Spray with Clear Coat. (Do I repeat this step too? ) 9. Wait 24 Hours before driving. ___________________________ I don't wanna spend a lot of money because I'm poor ! Is it cheaper to get a professional to powder coat it or something? Before I do anything I got a question, will it look better if the wheels were painted black?

Where Can I Get My Rear Spoiler Painted?
statue replied to statue's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Thanks for the replies. Yeah, GV1 is Black Pearl according to the Paint Codes in SAU forum. I've never had any car painting done before so I was unsure of where to have it done. I just wanted to know the type of places that offer painting services. I didn't want to go, for example, to a car mechanic and ask for painting. Going to get quotes from nearby panel shops soon. Still looking for other peoples stories on their car spoiler/bumper painting with the company you did it with, what part, if they did a good or bad job, etc. I'm curious, How do they match the colour code anyway? GV1 - Black Pearl seems to only be a skyline colour. -
Hello, My rear spoiler is unpainted but primed. It's ready to be mounted but I want to get it painted first. I already know my cars colour code, GV1 Black. I just want to ask where I could get it painted properly near Sydney 2155 Are there car painting companies? Do smash repairs do this? What about those ones that say they do colour code touch up painting? And also, if anyone had any previous paint work done similar to my situation maybe somewhere near The Hills area, Seven Hills or Blacktown. Thanks

Thanks for the info! It really saved a lot of my time trying to find one I've visited Unigroup Engineering the other day. There was 2 other GT-Rs outside which they were working on and I got a booking for my car services.

Hi, I'm kinda new to driving and I've recently bought a Nissan Skyline R34. Do I go to ANY Nissan store to get General Maintenance? e.g: I can go to http://www.nissan.com.au, click Locate a Dealer, Enter post code, (my postcode is 2761) then go to the nearest one ? if so, do I also get other repairs from them? such as body crack, dent repairs, etc.
