  1. its frustrating how quick people are to write these cars off... what are you basing this on? not so sure about the holdens, but the XR6Ts are running low twelves constistently with only upgrades being bigger intercooler, injectors and boost. gettin an RB25 R33 to run the same times with reliability would be alot more difficult...
  2. No offence to you or holden mate, but i dont think these new 4WD hsv's will sell very well at all... look how many of those 4WD holden wagons u see around.... NONE!!! ive got more reasons to back my opinion, butttt i just cant be bothered to list them
  3. but dosn't the turbo spin for a while anyway after the engine is shut off...? anyway this guy was talkin it up a fair bit, saying it was far safer than a turbo timer, but when i asked him why he didnt patent it or anything, he just kind of trailed off...
  4. 4.4L? thats a pretty big six, wouldn't be able to rev that hard would it?
  5. cant remember which mag i read it in, either motor or wheels, but the XR6T had the acceleration advantage, but i this was when it was first released, holden have upped their power a bit since then hey? is the coupe4 coming out in both auto and manual, i heard they were only doing an auto?
  6. Was speaking to a guy today who said that he used to do alot of work on turbos about 10-15 years ago. He told me that he made a device that would keep oil flowing through the turbo for about a minute after the engine was shut off... cant remember exactly how he explained it but basicly he had a seperate cannister with a small amount of oil in it, which when the engine was shut off, a valve would open and allow this cold oil to flow through... anyone heard of anything like this? or is this dude talkin crap?
  7. dunno if it helps, but a mate has an XR6T with a few mods (exhaust and boost), and it dyno'd 331rwhp
  8. Sory mate but the fords are not 'ALOT' slower than the holdens... Any ford six will smoke any holden six, then again a ford turbo six will smoke any holden V8. Have seen an XR8 run an SS (which is the car its marketed against) and beat it, although not by much...
  9. R u sayin that a stock R32 GTST will beat a 33 GTS-25T?
  10. s14 for around 15 -17k? if u can get one for that price, that could be the way to go, only problem is they are as ugly as a hat full of arseholes
  11. you'll be alright dude, i recently put a new engine in my car and was thinking the same thing, but once u get going, everything is reasonably straight forward... when u first look at the engine bay you'll probably think to yourself 'what an abortion', but if u either tag or mark individual groups of bolts to nuts and threads, or video your work you should be sweet, and most of the wiring and clips will sit fairly steady in their original positions if u know what i mean...
  12. yeh the turbo is called a GT40, and id say it'd be real laggy on an RB25...
  13. there are heaps of skylines out there missing those stickers
  14. maby consider buying a new motor, you'd be looking at around $2000 for a decent one...
  15. but so what if the RB and SR engines arn't space efficient?, 200s and Skylines have always sold pretty well havn't they?( execpt for aus, which is strange)
  16. u have a RB26 belt in your RB25? isn't it a bit big?
  17. whats 12psi in Bar roughly??
  18. well thats kind of what i thought, seeing as from the factory, all N/A 33 skylines were a four stud pattern anyway... but would it put the wheel out of balance???
  19. I recently pulled that rear muffler of my car and replaced it with a cannon muffler, pity i just chucked it... kidding, ive got it sitting in my garage, not quite as shiny, but the same one, PM me if u want it
  20. I snaped it about 3/4 down the lenght of the thread, with the remainer of the bolt inside the nut... no worries, ill sort it out wednesday, thanks guys...
  21. ok no worries, any mechanic can fix it hey?
  22. Ummm, i accidently snapped one of the wheel studs after changing my brake pads, is it safe to drive around in temporarily (with the remaining 4 studs), untill i get it fixed???
  23. wot does the original picture say?
  24. can u just get any boss kit, or does it have to matched to the car?
  25. beauty, thanks very much, the third one is a slightly smaller hose than the rest, so yeah im guessing thats some sort of pressure reading, cheers
