There's a few dates. End of the year you have to return before/on 10 Dec, though, it's all like ~$1K+ just for the return leg after that. I think dates as per site were 20 May to 16 Jul 22 Jul to 10 Sep 14 Oct to 10 Dec I flew J* last time I went to Japan in 2012 (mid year), and I think I paid low $600s (more with luggage). I found it fine tbh. Student life means I'd rather keep all extra saved monies for use there instead. And had to stop over at GC/Cairns! Now it's some 10hr direct goodness!

MEL-NRT direct and return for < $550. + Luggage etc, though. Tempting. But JStar, bit budget for VWLBC.
